I lost about 10mm of my index finger about 7 yrs ago in a similar incident but I hasn’t affected my riding / braking ability so unfortunately can’t be of much help :-/
I’m sure you will find or adapt your braking to keep on riding.
    Heal well.

Ah yes, i was the original idiot to trim my finger end off on a disc rotor a few years ago. Here are the lovely pics 🙂

This first pic was the day after when it had been tidied up by the surgeons. It was interesting listening to them trim the finger bone while i was sat there awake 😮

This picture was after a couple weeks of healing. It was completed covered for 5 weeks and the dressing was only changed once a week.

And this is the bit i found stuck to the back of the rotor when i got home after being at the hospital

The moral of the tale is, keep your fingers away from spinning rotors!!

Nice vid Rich, but be careful naming the trails your riding, You could end up with lots of riders trashing your nice local cheeky trails :-/

Just been for a walk round the course while out with the dog. As Chipps said, the snow will make it more ride-able, there are one or two slippy bits but nothing to really panic about.

Riding a CX bike is all about being out of control isnt it?? 😉

I get the 17.18 most days of the week and like Baron said if you get there early u’ll be fine, there is bike storage on virtually every train. But if you leave it till the last minute you might have to be rude and barge your way on with people moaning at ya, but i’m sure you can cope with that. I’ve just become numb to it and ignore them 😉

check out these guys in manchester city centre

    Gbob and the Hippy Bikes[/url]

They have contact with powdercoaters for refinishing frames that are brought in for rebuilding.

Nice bunch of guys too 🙂

I’ve got a Mondeo ST, with the lovely 3.0 V6. You can keep all your 4 and 5 cylinder engines, there’s nothing quite like the lazy roar of a V6 or the howl of the V6 at 6000rpm. Get average of 25mpg for mixed driving and it has more room that u can shake a stick at. Oh and you can pick some bargains up for around 6K.

My Manchester – Birchwood commute was lethal too, several foot out moments but managed to stay on the bike, although foot out moments on a fixie are interesting 😮
