They might be sugesting something like the Topeak racks with the silver flat conenctors to join the rack to teh bike. Where they connect to rack there are slots the biolts go through so there is a lot of adjutability, plus the connectors are bendable.

Maybe the hot water flow rate was at the outer edge of the range for the shower, and adding the t junction in the pipe has reduced it below working range for the valve.

Since you can get hot water out when cold it turned off, you could measure the hot flow rate (by timing filing a container). Similarly you could measure the cold flow rate.

In you could find specification for shower valve you could see if in range.

Might also be worthwhile measuring flow rate at new hot tap downstairs.

see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQduU8RkjD8 which explains why a 32A circuit is correct for such an electric cooker on the basis that not all elements will be on full at the same time. He also explains what cable or flex is appropriate – often 4mm squared.

There may be a hard wired connection point to connect the cooker to hidden behind a cupboard.

Best to get an electrician to have a look and quote for doing what is needed. You can not connect via a normal plug.

Came across this video when researching similar situation – ended up getting an electrician in.

have you thought of getting a 24 hour self storage unit eg. https://lakelandselfstorage.co.uk/ which means you could consider a place with out storage for 7 bikes.

Still not much property available for rent at the moment in the area.

I thihk flying a long disatnce anywhere for a holiday is of doubtful morarity given the C02 produced by a significant flight.

I think the western world needs a reset on its atitude to flying.

Windows look like they do not allow safe exit in case of fire. Big fixed pane and small opening pane.

The international IT services company I work for has decided that the default will be working from home in future, apart from where customer security requirements require office working.

They are going through the required statutory consultations about this, but have started to implement break clauses in office leases to reduce office space. They plan to reconfigure the remaining office space as collaboration spaces rather than allocated desks.

My employer is relaxed about where I live in the UK now I do not need to be in the office and this view enabled me to secure a new role in the summer of 2020 on a project with a base location elsewhere in the UK. Previously the run off of my previous role might have lead to redundancy if there was a role at my base location.

I already had a dedicated home working space which I previously used for personal learning and projects and that is true for most of my immediate colleagues. But for colleagues with out suitable space at home it is not so easy.

I have observed in the past it is harder (but not insurmountable) to get less experienced team members up to speed when mentors are remote.

It suits me to have a more spread out working day, when I get stuck or waiting for a colleague I take a break from work. So my start and end time is fairly similar to my leave for work and arrive home time in my old life.

I also do not get wound up or distracted by those near by to me in the office.

So for me the office building is dead, and think the same is true for most of our competitors in the IT services market.

Kendal is prettty good place to live without a car and still have the hills close. Got all the facilities, you need and a fair amount of property to rent. Trail running on scout scar 5 minutes from my home and supermarket 10 minutes walkin the other direction. Back road takes you to Stavley for mountain biking quickly. Much less touristy than Keswick.

Some one mentioned Dorking in Surrey – my mum and dad moved there from nearby Riegate where I was brought up, and I am always impressed by the mountain biking and running whren I vist.

From observation of others problems with rack bolts breaking this seems to happen when bolts are allowed to come loose and then can lead to the movement of the rack leg breaking the head of the bolt off, or worse the bold breaking at the point it is flush with the frame.

Finally, someone has made a user servicable dynamo hub: Kasai.

These guys looks like they have them available – although it doesn’t specifically say In Stock. Would love to see some real world (i.e. cold and wet) reviews

    see the discussion at https://bikepacking.com/news/kasai-dynacoil-fs-dynamo-hub/

Which suggests that only the bearing at the non coil end is directly replaceable, at the other end it is thought to be integrated in to the dynamo bits.

The distributors web site does not have any technical instructions.

“One weird thing I’ve found, since both my bikes have 15mm thru axles, that no-one makes a reducer kit that threads/pops in to the 15mm holes to bring them down to 12mm or for QR. Seems like it shouldn’t be too hard to machine?

    see https://www.ebay.com/str/JJP-E-LLC?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

    or https://forkmods.com/

    no personal experience of these.

Does the Sky router box have an option to reset to default settings?

Have you ever changed any of the defaults ?

Is it on the latest firmware version ?

have you thought about using a 11 spreed 11 -34 cassette which fits on 10 speed freehub – needs a spacer to fit on a 11 speed one.

If you do not want to leave ask for the selection criteria and procedure in writing via the consultation process.

If you are selected ask for details of your scoring and the justification for the scores.

There are meant to be objective and based on facts, but it is very hard to avoid subjectivity.

Inevitably those involved will have decided in their heads who they want to select to leave and then will have determined the scores to achieve this. This means you can probably pick holes in the scoring where they can not provide objective evidence.

If there is a large number of redundancies they will have had to consult with a works council of employee representatives – if you think the selection looks unfair then raise it with these representatives who can challenge with company at national level.

Recently been through this as both someone scoring a pool and being in a pool that was been scored.

Also the composition of the pool may be suspect, it id meant to start with identifying the redundant role(s) and then determining all the other similar roles where the people with redundant roles could substitute for.
