my local bike shop is awesome, i break it they fix it.

i needed a 31.8 to 25.4 shim for a handlebar, they had one, gave me it free, bar a deposit in the charity box.

same happens when i need them to sort out my tubeless tyres or any of the the other really rather annoying tasks i put their way.

pitsford cycles of northampton, top chaps

sounds eerily similar to me tbh, in addition to the horror stuff (james herbert and stephen king, dean r koontz etc) did you ever read a fantasy writer stephen donaldson? he did the chronicles of thomas covenant, and i loved them as a kid, re reading them now actually….

you havent been ripped off, currently you have brought some kit, moaned about it then refused to send it back.

until you have sent it back, and then allowed your buyer some time to respond to you, other than an attempted witch hunt on a public forum, you arent going to get much sympathy.

    hmmmmmmmmmmm asda shiraz…………..

know i don't see how this is reasonable read the earlier post and you will see that buckled wheels and broken spokes are pretty much obvious unless you are blind.

and looking at the original pics the wheels werent buckled and didnt have a spoke missing.

i once sent a frame to a guy, and by the time it arrived it looked like a truck had driven over it, the royal mail dont refund unless you prove it was damaged in transit, and unless you (the buyer) noticed the damaged box and imediately queried it, or sent it back to the seller how is he supposed to claim from the royal mail if it was damaged in transit?

i dont have a problem in sending them back but will i get my money back ????.

dunno, you should probably have witheld your moaning until after you had sent them back?

after knowingly sending damaged goods how can trust be given?.

sorry even after putting that through my yoda transalator that still doesnt make sense.

imagine if you will, a situation.

buyer a (lets call him buyer a) buys from someone he doesnt know, the kit languishes in his garages and his wife calls an end to his project, he decides to sell the kit which he bought in good faith.

he sells it, to buyer b (for this example you are buyer b) in good faith without realising there are faults.

buyer b then throws his dolly out of the pram on a public forum screwing up the online respectability of buyer a, buyer b refuses to send the kit back, and demands a refund.

you see how this might not be so reasonable now?

yes indeed, once you have returned them.

surely you cant be asking the seller to refund before goods are returned?

jambro is now refusing to refund until the wheels are sent back but doesn't seem to care that smartsi had to trust him when the purchase was made, no-one sends the goods without payment first do they?

i sell a fair few bits to fund my bike habit, but wouldnt refund unless i had the "damaged" good in my hands…

i would say the last time i saw leonardo he was a little perplexed by the flapping screaming spectacle that was my wife as he hovered near her face…

cheers for the info, it was massive, it was really co operative, (ie sleepy) it crawled on my stick and let me take pictures, then it vibrated its wings to warm them up, and then made a bee (well moth) line for the missus…

I spent large segments of each day picturing you choking on food, and I recently contacted an exotic animal dealer because I had a very satisfying dream that I once shoved your face into one of those pink-inflamed monkey butts

Oh, hey William. I thought I smelled cookies wafting from the ovens of the little elves who live in your hair.

if your customer demands their money back they dont immediately get it.

paypal suspends the amount (if you take the money out you just end up with a negative balance of £320 which you would owe paypal) until they make a decision.

if you get proof of delivery and a signature, you are protected from a "not received" claim, and for a "significantly not as described" the customer would have to return the item and prove that they have done so.

as long as you are sensible you should be ok?

1/ braided hose on the rear when if anything it should be the front and
2/ single ring chainset. Surely a light bike like that needs at least a 2 ring chainset to get the most out of it

I aggree, to be honest i ran out of cash…. new brakes are on the wanted list (the hopes are getting a bit tired, and i had them lying about when i built it….)

I have a wide ratio cassette and the only time i have missed a granny was cannock the other month, otherwise I lost about a pound in weight by dropping the rings and shifter cable etc.

pink??? me camera makes the red hope stuff look pinky i spose, reds the new black dont you know 🙂
