Sorry if I hurt your feelings Tim, I admit it Harry is the daddy. All better now?

Yeah no probs, but only if you admit harry is your daddy, and that you want some wand action

I did love the lotr films but the second and more so the third was ruined (for me) by the inconsistencies with the original plot.

If i hadnt read the books i would think they were cool films if with a poorly thought out/ explained ending…

The harry potter films never deviated to the point where it affected plot and storyline and themes imho

Ok for me as a huge lotr fan

Harry potter was simplistic yet 100% true to the books

Lotr started well ( the first film being my favourite ever film) then turned into an action driven rollercoaster to the detriment of the plot and books original themes.

I too can watch lotr repeatedly but they missed out tom bombadill and saruman from the end!!!

He made it 7 hours long ffs what would it have mattered for another hour in the shire with saruman???

At a film level it is ( or should be) a like for like comparison

Both fantasy, both aimed (initially at kids) both multi book both immersive myththological…

Lotr has the depth but harry potters films i think clinch it almost as if they were made for film…

    Errr yes

Lotr was not spectacularly acurate although great it mssed out several themes from the books

Harry potter has been prettty spot on and prettty good imho

The kebab hot dog analogy was genius!

I have to say it does seem to be a penetraty male dominance genetic conditioning thing

Male penetration is just wrong in a relationship involving a male, lady fiddling however is sometimes mildly wrong sometimes videod

Ring ebay its quicker google ebay phone number it starts o844 fom memory.

Just had a really nasty experience witg a buyer, the process for removin neg feedback is under the help section you have to raise a defamatory “something i cant remember” dispute the operators will help you find it. Oddly this is not an online thing you download a form print it, fill it out , screen print the neg feedback screen print it, then scan both pages and upload them…..

Bit silly but assuming you are in the right they sort it very quickly.

Paypal less so, i still have the amount in dispute even though ebay have sorted the other claims out….

    Tom

I think that the pickups/electrics are at least as important as the amp tbh

    I got this for £150

Its a £120 peavey with fender electrics bridge and seymour duncan coiltapped pickups

I use it with a vox valve amp i got fir £50

It sounds much better, and has more range than a fender tele i looked at for £650…

I find picking easier more margin for error, ie the extra strings are skill compensators.

    Bit like a specialized pitch……

Nah not uncomfortable at all, thinner than a dreadnought tbh neck is thin ( which suits my hobbit hands) and action is very low indeed with no buzz.

So all in i am chuffed, it was quite miraculous as the seller wrapped 1 bit of bubble wrap and some selotape on it and stuck it in the post….

Id not discount martins before you play a decent one, i thought it was jst the name til i played one…

Also bear in mind the wood has a massive effect on the tone, spruce top = bright, mahogany = resonant, lots of sustain.

I like nick drake type pickng so a parlour size 00015ce martin was spot on for me ( im 5,5 parlour = thin body)

Ive not played anything that comes anywhere near it but it was well worn in when i got it.

By the looks if it is a dreadnought ( why does that rule it out btw?)

I found one new online at £759 with a case.

It looks nice, has a solid spruce top, worth is very much dependant on how it plays and what its condition is.

You can pick up some bargains on ebay if you take your time and £500 gets a lot of guitar, i was really lucky and got a guy to end an auction early, for a mahogany martin for £500, i could probably sell for a lot more….

Make sure you go pick it up though, i had an ibanez 12string delivered today the seller wrapped it in one bit of bubble wrap and sellotape!!!

Its fine but its a miracle.

Worthwise guitars hold their value, if its solid wood (as opposed to a laminate) it would probly sell on ebay for 60-75% of rrp
