another dr had a look, and started off all the tests…. small mercies and all that

Firstly what type of router are you using this will either be an 802.11n or g.

    n good / g ok

if you have n then you might as well get a card or USB that supports this both will work, n is quicker.

Then make sure whatever you get USB or card works with your os, loads of older USB sticks don't work with windows 7….

    nice hadge,

and cyril i know your pain…

my royal was strong but gentle and had a really nice temperament (as far as a snake can have a temperament)

I had to rehome all my snakes recently as i moved to a place with a less understanding landlord… gutted i had a really nice common corn (jeff) and a fourlined ratsnake (evie) that was a beautifull olive green and black….

poor thing – it probably wants to be out in the desert hunting giraffes and you've got it cooped up in an IKEA cupboard with a stick and some tupperware for company

it's a ball python, in the wild it will probably have a 10 foot square territory.

It will sit and wait for it's prey (small rodents lizards) to pass it then ambush them.

It hardly moves at all it's whole life, it's certainly not going to miss a quick trot round the reserve with a girraffe….

They need heat humidity and food and water. Any dressing of it's enclosure is entirely for the benefit of it's keeper.

A 5 foot enclosure from Ikea with nice clean carpet a hide, water and micicles regularly and it is perfectly happy.

Snakes can be beautiful and great to handle.

Much cheaper and easier to keep, and far less cruel than say a working dog that doesn't get walked.

    That I don't understand

On the subject of rainbows… We saw one very similar the other day, but the question is why is the cloud very dark above the rainbow then imediately lighter grey below?

I came on here giving it all the "charlie big potatoes" about the weight of mine….. I weighed all the bits, and then put them together and it ended up being a 800g heavier.. (insert annoying blushing emoticon here)

its actually 22.4lbs with 27 gears and the sid teams, but it got it down to 19.7lbs with some RC31 ctypes, and a ti bash ring/nstop thing.

bath room scales were 3lbs out, fishing scales 2lbs, proper expensive digital scales are the only way….

rightyho for those interested a bit of an update.

I sat down with her today to go through her paperwork and get an action plan for mondays meeting with the CAB (im going in with her)

it appears that she may have some precedent of stress at work.

18 months ago she reduced her hours from 5 days to 3, on grounds of stress.

She has had several absences from work for between several days and a week, with stress being the reason given.

I do not think she has formally stated that her work is causing her this stress (ie "I am off work because i cant cope with my job, and my manager is intimidating me" but then who would say that….)

She has regularly been leant on to work extra hours, even being asked to come in for "training" in her own time and without being paid for this, including being asked to work late, and through her breaks.

She has communicated her concerns verbally to her manager, and team leader but nothing formally.

Her new manager is known for hitting targets and widely thought to be a target person not a people person…..

The initial meeting following her misdemeanor, was called an investigation, she asked if she had anything to worry about and if she should bring a rep, she was told no, and not to worry about it.

following the initial meeting she was put back on the job for a week, doing the pre screens etc etc.

Her manager phoned her on her mobile during this week and asked lots of probing questions about her life, and issues she has going on (something he has never done before, he always evaded any personal chat with her prior to this….

Then she had the formal meeting, where she was suspended. and given some addresses of 3rd party advise centres and advised to bring an in house rep with her next time, she is not allowed to bring in a 3rd party (ie solicitor, or an angry son).

TBH I think she is screwed, she doesnt particularly want the job anymore (and certainly not following a long battle to get her reinstated) so i think the best way out would be a negotiated exit with minimal fuss, and a decent reference…

sincerely thanks everyone for the advice!

tbh i can see her wanting to take the resignation route, she knows shes in the wrong and wants to do the right thing, I am just worried about her future prospects (shes got another 10-15 years before she retires and could use the money)

    thanks again

So she could get signed off (she has existing stress and Depression issues) even though she is in the middle of a disciplinary proceedure? ( I assumed they would just fire her if she did this….)

about 10 years ago i was moving house, it was a sunny day, so i emptied the house onto the rear patio, tv, high end hifi everything sitting on the patio in the sunshine.

I moved the washing machine and noticed that the cold tap was jammed open.

So instead of sorting it out, i decided to turn off the water at the mains then fit one end of the washing machine hose to the cold, the other end to the hot (in one loop)…… ands turn the water back on.

all was well for 30 minutes, then i began to hear what sounded like someone using a hose in my back garden, near the expensively loaded patio….

the cold water had travelled up the hot pipe at force, into my roofspace, filled up the water heater/holder thingy, and then it had started flowing out the over-flow pipe……. which was 10 foot above my patio.

genius insurance claim form that one.

I feel quite bad for him tbh, he could have had a decent business there and seems to know his stuff about bearings.

all he needed was basic forum etiquette, and a rewording of some of his more ridiculous marketing he could be making a mint now.

where are those carvings I like those a lot, would love to do something similar in my garden (will have big bits of tree soon, and always liked carving….)

Id take off the DCD for a start, nasty rattly things…

also the seatpost, and get a ti seatpost, some decent wheels and decent V brakes, and a adjustable travel fork 85 -130.

The colour of the frames nice Id leave it as is other than than that…

or do what my mate did, organise a meal/drinks night out with the both partners along as well, wait till you get home, then jump on the bed like a love panther, tap both sides of the bed invitingly and purr "come on guys what about it?" wink…..

sadly his missus punched him full in the face bringing the proceedings to an abrupt halt.

I'd personally lock the doors of every supermarket in the land and burn everyone inside to death.

dammit i misread this and thought burn was bum, my witty Barrymore related comeback is now entirely redundant.

how about self checkouts. Tesco's finest fillet steaks, or ducks breast, weighed as potatoes. 42p each, spankyou Tesco, spankyou very much

does that work in Asda? purely hypothetically speaking…

i think you have to give it time, first ride on rigid (ti frame and carbon forks/bars) after full suss, or just front suss, was a bit teeth chattery, and my shoulders hurt.

couple of rides later i am getting smoother, I dont hurt, i love it.

And i feel like i am flying downhill, in reality i am going at the same, possibly slower in some areas, but it feels faster!

    climbing is a revelation
