Anthem cost, and receipt showed …. £500

Home insurance, bikes added as specific items.

I bought a giant anthem off ebay for my son.

Who promptly took it to university locked it up, where it was stolen.

I called the insurance company, not really expecting anything, and was completely transparent. they were very helpful, gave me new for old, based on screen print of ebay receipt and crime number.

    £2250 paid same day.

Have bought a couple of frames from elli, decent chap, never had an issue. Think he buys stuff to try and sells it on. Nice old boy.

My older sister was a big music influence on me from about 1985 onwards, ie from when i was about 10 and started an interest in music.

She introduced me to the joshua tree first.

Id sit for hours with a walkman and tape and later a cd player listening to where the streets have no name, that incredible riff and intro blew my mind… then i got rattle and hum and loved the film, the sun valley stadium version of streets is still my favourite.

Streets, Still havent found what im looking for, Bad and All i want is you, are my favourites from my favourite time of the band, almost entirely because of the guitar

I play guitar because of the edge, and this is one of my most fundamental loves in life (wish i was better!) so they as a band were incredibly important and influential on me as a kid and adult.

Then theres bonos lyrics, which can be incredible…

“She wears my love like a see through dress”

When everyone else was wearing happy mondays baggies i was in a biker jacket waist coat and pointy boots trying to be bono from the rattle and hum film….

Id agree that they started to turn after zooropa (love stay!),

Pop i still like very much. That velvet dress has a great Bridge section to it and the playboy mansion i like also for its simplicity.

But unlike radiohead (whom as i age i like more and can find new stuff in the their entire back catalogue, even the bleepy stuff) started to slide after Zooropa, and definitely should have stopped after Pop.

Anything newer is repetitious, derivative and lacking in soul or creativity imho.

Our tiny dog once overcame his intimidation by the dirty pigeons sufficiently to chase one…

It flew straight into our house and knocked itself out.

Upon waking it wasnt right, staggering about and unable to fly.

My wife immediately set about making it comfortable, box, seed, water fluffy bed etc and rang the rspca.

Who were round next day to take it away, citing brain damage, and advising they would treat it.

I knowingly nodded and made kneck wringing gestures whilst walking them to the van.

To be told they would treat and scan the pigeon and let us know the outcome.

Which I wholeheartedly didnt believe until they rang us back the next day with a full update… its probably in a bed next to schumacker on life support to this day.

    Line 6 amplifi 100fx

Pedal, which you can plug straight into your hifi or amp

Clever bit is the cloud based app and forum for creating the effects/amp models

Then you can play music through it too

So if you want to sound like jimi hendrix on a specific tune someone will have built it…

Without a doubt the best 70nquid i have ever spent on ebay, and the best guitar related purchase ever!

Start by asking what music he listens too and likes and wants to play… if he doesnt get passionate about it he will give up after 5 mins

Start with what motivates him and work back to.the guitar type.

If it is metal or jimi hendrix or amything played on.an electric get him one…

Cheap fender squirer elec guitar plus an i rig (google it) and some headphones (irig plus the app gets him untold effects and amps v cheaply)

Or if acoustic is his bag get him a sigma, its a chinese real wood martin copy and 75 _200 quid will get you an incredible guitar (i am 43 have been playing for 20 years and have had proper martins worth 3k and struggle to justify anything other than a sigma)

Id suggest that quitting now and the uncertainty wont help the anxiety.

Sounds like you need the mindset and ethic of someone that’s quit and working notice without actually doing it just yet.

Or to put it another way, to remember that a job is there to fund your lifestyle not the the most important thing, and the yardstick by which you measure your self worth.

Tough this, the irony is the people that have this already quit mindset are quite successful imho.

Im with you btw in the anxiety filled overworked stressy category trying to remember that a work life balance is important….
