6’4″ here and riding a 58cm Ultimate CF comfortably.
Ok so the stem isn’t “slammed” but it fits me well. 🙂

6’4″ – XL Tallboy. First bike I’ve ridden in years that really feels like it ‘fits’ properly.

Earlier ones were poorly sealed, and failure seemed to be pretty common if they got wet, and there were also battery problems. Firmware has seemingly fixed the battery draining issues, and the latest build has hopefully fixed the waterproofing.
Just had my latest XT replacement crank through but am yet to ride it..

Is that red section they were working on over the summer now open? Can’t remember the stage, but it’s the bit that was closed off with a detour (heading left as you went up the short climb).

The bit after Labyrinth that was shut due to nesting birds? Yes, but it’s nothing special..

New stuff is ok at the moment, fire roads and some of the older off-piste starting to get a bit claggy though..

I use a holy Moses (with the green LEDs) for commuting, works great. Use it on low mostly, or mid for dark potholy roads like you describe – rarely use it on high beam on the roads…

dodgyrider – BUT! why is policed to the extent of us not being able to ride as we have done for years.

    It isn’t.

Follow blue around until you go over the little wooden bridge. Next bit of fireroad you get to, blue continues to the right, start of red is to the left.
Couple of bits where signage isn’t great, but if you follow the tyre tracks you’ll not go far wrong!

    edit: oops, too slow.. 🙂

Yup. Used it all the time on my old bike, but on the new one never really felt the need for it so took it off. 😀

Can’t add much to this really, except to say I ride a standard Tallboy C and have not yet come across anything where I’ve found it lacking in travel.
Oh, and while the bare carbon looks great in the shop I find it does scuff relatively easily – if that is important to you, it might be better to get a painted one! 🙂

FWIW, I ride an XL at 6’4″.. Saddle is quite high, but bike fits me perfectly.

Shadow plus. After having one, I’d not go back.

I used E and L[/url] on a rolling monthly contract as a temporary measure before I could find something more competitive. They cover up to £5k I think..
Sadly I haven’t found anything more competitive so looks like I’ll be sticking with them at 40-odd quid a month.. 😯 🙄

Sounds like a great scheme, would definitely encourage me to buy from them.

Yup, I thought so.. I think they do it for lights and GPS stuff as well. 🙂

    Sorry, described that badly!
I meant you can have the bike for up to 48hours. But you can take it (or others) out as often as you wanted for a month.
Basically the £40 buys you a month’s ‘pass’ to ride their demo fleet for up to 48 hours at a time.

Worked for me – bought my Santa Cruz there after demoing it. 😀

Bought my bike from Mountain Trax. Their policy is to charge £40 which lets you take any of their demo fleet out at any time for a month. The £40 is refundable if you buy a bike. No deposit was required, but you have to leave ID.
I thought this was a pretty good deal really.. 8)

SC Tallboy Carbon (29er), bought before christmas to replace old Felt Compulsion II (26er).
Love it, and would not go back. For me though at 6’4″ tall, 26ers always felt too small and looked like I’d nicked my little brother’s bike. 😉

At just over 6 foot tall I have a large with 90mm negative rise stem and flat bars, built up light but not silly at 23.5 lbs. great all day machine.

Out of interest, what sort of component spec is yours?
Mine is XL and weighs 27lb. It has mostly XT parts (2×10), with some XTR, Enve carbon bars and stem, hope hoops, tubeless etc but currently has a reverb post which may be going soon as I don’t think I need it on this bike..
Curious as to where I can lose more weight off it easily ish?

VPP works as well or better than the multi link Felt Compulsion II (Equilink?) I had before, FWIW.

I’m 193cm tall and got the XL which fits me really well..
