    aye, the NHS

some socialist elements still exist – i.e. a belief in supporting the common man rather than treading on them to succeed

freedom of speech (yes – but compared to a lot of other countries)

Just listened to him on 5 Live about his rage and disgust that MPs won't be able to claim for 1st class rail travel any more.

Anyone who thinks that the Tory party are the part of the people really needs to listen to this.

    😯

The Torys can never be a part for the people as thats not what being a tory is about. It like saying that a socialist should support a class based society 🙂

I'm in Argentina right now, cycling the length of the Andes… it's front page news in all the papers here… pretending to be anything other than English

    Whats the vibe!?

I do quite like the idea of it – adding 2.3lbs to a super-lightweight susser wouldnt be the end of the world either (expensive though!!)

I'm very intrigued – i'd like to have a go on some proper terrain.

I've heard they have a very different riding style though – pedalling in corners to take advantage of front wheel grip and the like…

If you've taken the big ring off you def. need a shorter chain – less wrap

They do somethig similar if they are clicked without a cable in them.

Tension and going up and dwn the gears a lot usually solves it

Or one of the pawls/springs is goosed

20 mins riding to work and 10 mins riding home really helped me.

Shame i've been completely lame the last 2 weeks and mainly driven in

Having real problems with the surface apparently?

Did seem quite bad that the last few competitors had effectively no chance as the light was going and the surface wrecked…

    Liar, he's just in hiding.

He's got Shaun Ryder locked in his garage. I've seen him.

stick it in largest chainring and sprocket

Make it as tight as you can in those sprockets

    done 🙂

You' ll probably be fine with leaving the chain as it is though – just check it doesnt bind in largest gears

Yes you will need a guide of some sort, and potentially a bottom roller too (some setups get away with it, some done)

    Sounds about right…sadly

when my kona got nicked they phoned me after 6 weeks to inform me that they would be checking the cctv footage…which gets deleted after 4 weeks.

I got a bit pissed off with that – so they offered me a counselling course. I don't want **** counselling, i want my **** bike back!

I also caught and confronted a bike thief about 200m away from a cop van. A friend banged on the window of the van and told them what was going on and that there was likely to be a nit of argy bargy, and they told him to go away!

    Just a thought:

Can you not fit it anyway – yes it will push the chainline out a little but this may actually be desirable since you are loosing one of the 3 rings – it'll even up the chainline in the smaller sprockets

depends on what stage you are at, but a forced cycle commute when it snowed did wonders for my manked up nose, throat and lungs!

On a new bike – yes – makes setup easier as you can do it as you go rather than ballpark car park testing.

    after that, i wouldnt/never did/never will 🙂

it will be the bearings – had it in a front (twice) in a year.

Feel perfectly smooth, but knock slightly.

I understood the priniciple of these bikes, but the issue i had is that unless you were sat down with very little weight on the bars, all the shock would be transferred directly throuigh your arms anyway before the 'suspension' had a chance to absorb it

    nice experimentation though!

If you can tolerate it (e.g. uncomfortable rather than painful) then its not broken 🙂

But good to get it checked regardless (although not at A & E)

In my experience anyway – broken a few bones in the past!

either the freehub ratchets have gone (fixable with new freehub)

    OR

the pawls have been chewed out of the hub (hubs dead – albeit can be bodgeable short term with some judiscious filing if its not completely gone but it will fail again)

    i've done both 🙂

I assumed the OP was correct 🙂

I made the (admittedly large)assumption that it was a mon-fri job

so binning out 2 days a week that woudnt be used – about 100 less columns

should fit in less than 280 columns

    HTH!
