It might be glandular. Did you ever think of that, you bullies?

Picking a team and looking at tactics is relatively easy

Juggling the egos of a load of semi-illiterate footballers and taking the blame when they cant be arsed to chase the ball and then lose?

    Sod that 🙂

Only Rooney chases the ball down if he loses it. No-one else in the team seems to care when they make an error. Thats the problem.

They have been playing like they dont care.

Any of the 3 goalies is fine (although i'd like to see Hart given a go but not worth swapping for – James is more vocal and experienced)

    Defence:

Carraghers out anyway, Kings injured, so Upson in. Terrys a **** but he puts his body on the line so he's in. Cole and Johnson have been ok.

    Midfield:

Gerrard needs to get in the centre. Barry drops behind the midfield to cover the defence so Gerrard can play further forward and have a free role and so as that A.Cole and Johnson can run at their midfield. Lennon on rightwing, J.Cole on leftwing, both running to the bylines and cutting it across. Lampard has been fairly low key but he can score so keep him on.

Rooney on his own up front, supported by Cole, Lennon, Lampard and Gerrard

If we cant score, take Lampard off and put Defoe on for more pace or Crouch to get his head on the crosses.

Stop playing the long ball all the time 🙂 We need to run at the midfield and defences. long ball only works if you catch people by surprise!

    Easy 🙂

you need to use a half decent usb stick (sandisk ones work) as the xbox is finickety about the sticks performance.

stuck a 16gb one in mine last nigt – works perfectly

Surely this Superstar BB is moving in the wrong direction. They are marketing the pop it out and regrease feature. We want sealed fit and forget, not to go back to the days of stripping components and regreasing every five minutes. Their pedals and their chain guides are great though, good value and quality. I've never had a problem with their disc pads.

I have one of their chain guides, and whilst perfectly competent, it is very cheaply made. Very few miles have killed the lower jockey so it moves around and is noisy as anything – its getting bodged to run an MRP roller for the weekend.

Not sure its any better value than a more expensive piece of kit (if that makes sense)

Perhaps book a rider skills session?

That'll help you and help put her mind at rest.

Some seatpost tolerances aren't particularly good either, so it could be an undersized post.

what frame is it, and is the standard post and collar?

Might actually get a decent, committed captain and defender then.

So overrated – always out of position and lazy.

Tim – I know, I understand carbon pretty well. The thing is I've also seen plenty of aluminium and Ti bars fail spectacularly, some when nearly new so I'm taking a pragmatic view of it…

Thats fair enough. Never seen enough ti bars to see any go – but i have a set of ti flat trackers with VERY thin walls – i've stopped using them on my main bike as i dont trust them when hooning – although they'll go back on the singlespeed when its built back up (contradiction!).

I've seen alu bars go though. Not nice 🙁

I do find the hysteria about carbon funny though

This is true…but the issue with carbon parts is, because of its properties, its hard to tell when it is damaged.

Alu bars can bend first (although not always – depending on how lightweight and also the heat treatment can make them brittle – a few years back Azonic downhill bars used to be notorious for snapping without warning). I've binned a 'drooping' set of generic oem riser bars. You can also see stress risers forming on them around them stem and brake levers

Carbon doesnt do this – its brilliant, but if they DO go failure is more or less instant. I'd happily ride carbon parts…but i'd want to know the history and hence would only buy brand new.

im not worried about the 2 groves just the small crack

the 2 grooves could well be worse than the crack – either way i'd be making that bar completely unusable

Not a chance in hell i'd use them or try to repair them. Make them into an ornament.

I'll use s/h bars if they are chunky ones or i know the history, but even then i'd feel much safe with new – but s/h lighhtweight bars are a nono…s/h carbon is a big nono!

Works fine on BMX's, and lets face it the average freecore mincer off STW is going to dish out less abuse.

Bmx's are very overbuilt though and tend not to get filled up with mud 🙂

as coffee king says – depends on the length of the seat tube collar, but should be ok really.

I can tell you as already had a set that I snapped last night getting ready. They have rubber covers on them come with a few different ones, these fit in snug and tight so you get no wind noise.

Ah sorry – scan read this thread and didnt spot that first time

It cut's out a lot of noise but I also have eyes which are far more effective for seeing cars then my ears.

    heh 🙂

Will a plane take off in a windtunnel?

ie if the engines aren't on but you fire wind at it really fast, will it start to fly?

if you could stop it moving backwards without restricting up and down movement…yes

( although i think planes rely on the thrust to help with lift though – maybe wrong here)

Be interesting to see how good the amazon ones are at cutting out wind noise. I may allow you to test them 🙂

i cant believe how much you spend on ear phones for your bike. i use" koss the plug" in ear buds there like a foam ear plug, give it a twiddle to make it small pop it in your ear and in expands filling in all the gaps.mind blowing bass and so cheap you'll think there crap.(but there not) or you could try the Denon AH-C551 Black, really nice sound .

The Koss ones look good – got some phillips ones but they arent that fab. Really crap wires as well which tangle and crimp easily.

Was going to get some skull candy ones…

Not had my recycling collected for 2 months after I called them a bunch of jobsworths w*****s for not taking a big pile of cardboard i couldn't fit in my bin.

    Lesson learned!

    Not surprised

You do realise they arent ALLOWED to take your excess rubbish. Loads of cardboard fills up the truck really quickly so thery have to do extra trips. Take it to the tip yourself.

Same reason that loads of sopping wet bin bags arent collected as they mean the vehicle can be up to weight quickly. Meaning more trips.

Double the trips means double the fuel costs – council tax goes up

Dont want to and could never be bothered too anyway. Plus it would be humilating 🙂

Its mainly to do with allowing road rash to heal more quickly, and for embrocation. But yes its also mainly to say "i'm a cyclist'

I plan to regain my 'Calfs of steel' that say cyclist 🙂
