That looks like it should be for pushing the chainline out if you are using a re-axled track hub in a roadie

that rockrider – does the swingarm pivot itself rotate around that huge bearing?

    cool 🙂

    cant find any info though!

it also seems to have a built in aluminium mudguard!

I really like the look of them – be interesting to see if they will do frame only

and how much of the heft is in the frame or the components

layback doesnt work particaulrly well as far as i know – doesnt put a straight load on the post.

For the same reason, bikes with silly slack seat tubes also arent supposed to be as good

you will hardly notice it 🙂

Scrub out 34 and write 36 on it in tippex. Used to help a mate when he was riding solo singlespeed races 🙂

Good shout on covering the seals and stantions, I may have missed that trick otherwise!

I'll take a look at those plumbers pipe cutters, seem cheap for what they are?

yep – just check it goes large enough – most go up to 30mm which is sufficient for standard steerers

you may have to file the edge a little as sometimes the resultant edge has a little lip. They usually come with a fole out bit for filing the inside of tubes, but not the outside

Why? Threaded interfaces don't get much stronger the further you thread them in. I probably wouldnt want to run a roadie BB with a chain device, but I doubt you'd suffer any ill effects with a normal one.

Helps if you have goofed threads though 🙂

People who get to the top of escalators then stop whilst deciding which way to go.

I travel to and from the isle of wight – theres a smilar hing on the yarmouth ferry. People have a whole ferry ride, presumably know their destination then have to drive past a big sign saying (basically) West or East, and then still cant work out which of the two roads to take as they exit the tiny little ferry terminal.

Always fun after driving back miles from somewhere.

It's missing all the horrible things that make other forums unpleasant to use. Lets keep it that way.

EDIT: having said that, the throwing-up smiley that someone used recently would be a good addition.

    the mans a legend

I love that Carlsberg "join the immortals" advert where they have Pearce, Botham etc yelling support at the team.

They should do it for real – pick a few successful guys – Pearce, Botham, Flintoff, Charlton, Stiles, Hamilton, Button, Lennox Lewis etc and stand them either side of the tunnel holding flags and screaming

At this rate we could do with having them out on the pitch!! Imagine Lennox in goal, in a one on one situation you wouldn't put your money on any striker! Still hope the lads finally turn it around and get a win maybe thats all thats needed to sort it out and if they do it would at least make The Sun's ads on the telly seam less stupid.

    Iain

Lewis might actually be able to sort out the play acting thats ruining all the matches – if a striker tried to beat him to the ball whilst punching a corner away. Get down and stay down 🙂

also, he could probably score from THEIR corner if he timed it right 🙂

I far prefer the simplicity of this set up

yup – signatures, avatars and the like are just added faff that dont add any value. Sigs definitely!

Leave it be – a subtle PM option would be nice but its just more faff for the guys to sort out and moderate and i think it works fine as is. I think they'd rather be riding ther bikes than dealing with stupid squabbbles on here about someone PMing someone else.

He should have declared the defects BUT you did sit on it for a couple of weeks so you have less clout with ebay if you wanted to press it as he could say that you caused the damage in the 2 weeks. I dont know how you can take it further really.

Headset might just need stripping and cleaning – but if its a non sealed bearing jobber the bearing cages have probably disintegrated

live and learn i think on the whole 🙁

But to answer your question – Maxle Lite's 20mm too, so no adapter needed, unless you didn't mean Maxle Lite :o)
    Posted 11 minutes ago # Report-Post

You'd still need an adaptor of sorts as its not going to clamp down onto anything 🙂

You could mill the non driveside leg out a few mm, use a threaded top hat inside that for the maxle to thread into (glue the adaptor in) and peramently bolt up all of the other bolts with washrs to give the correct tolerance. You'd have to find a similary sized maxle (difficult) and prbably adapt it/space it to make it work.

It would be an utter faff, and may as well pick up some cheap pikes/revs/maguras.

chuckable bikes = ones where the owner will in the coming months blame the manuracturer for his seatube parting company from the top tube.

If your a bit of a mong and run the seatpost too high 🙂

I've always been of the opinion that 1×9 is not going to be great for reliability due to angles at highest and lowest gear.

My 2p: Been running since December no problems.

Seems to depend on the bike and the riders style – I had no end of problems with the chain derailing from the bottom run when you back pedal slightly.

So … what should I do with my no longer needed wedding ring?

    Amusing suggestions particularly welcome!

Depends – if it was a mutual friendly seperation – give it back (or at least offer to)

if it wasnt mutual, pawn it and go on holiday 🙂

£350 for an engagement ring, no wonder it didn't work out.

If someone cares about how much a ring costs, then they shouldnt be marrying that person 🙂

We spent the money on a holiday together 🙂

They can be an arse to setup but should be able to get them not to tub/to not rub noticeably.

Handful of very thin washers usually works well if its not an infinitely adjustable system.

Slightly smaller, more compact – but not one that you'd want to do long(er) rides on.

It's all very subjective. Like saying you ride 'aggressive XC'…

I see it as a 'bike that actually fits you' 🙂

Get out and ride it for gawds sake. Some hard use will sort them out. It light use that 'polishes' the pad surface.

If i can be bothered, i always take a bit of fine wet and dry to new pads anyway. Done the same to a filthy rotor before as well 🙂

Makes a hell of a difference – and avid pads generally dont fit in the caliper anyway so a tiny bit of lost life isnt an issue 🙂
