The consent form is a third-party plug-in which needs to set a cookie. If you allow third-party cookies on the site it’ll work, if you block them it will fail.

So to stop this ruining browsing experience I have to allow unknown 3rd party cookies?

    Seems secure…

I stopped browsing STW after being told to FO over commenting on the increasing clickbait content on Facebook. I’ve just started using it again!

    Much appreciated

Stanchions won’t get fatter. No benefit – just more seal drag.

Wireless gearing, droppers and suspension adjust to simplify bars. Maybe a central standard to allow them all to interact (e.g. Samsung smart things)

    Trail bikes making a resurgence

On an MTB I find the biggest thing on long rides is my feet start to “wander” on flat pedals as I get tired. On spuds I’m just more comfortable long distance

However, for “fun” riding I much prefer flats. Just feel more stable and balanced. Plus I find it hard to bunnyhop properly in spds!

I’d love a set of true convertible pedals. The only ones that looked vaguely reasonable where atomlab ones but I think they were just vapourware

The RC300 had a carbon seat tube. Maybe I saw a concept or am misremembering.

I’m now hankering for an RC200 F8 or an RC300

Didn’t pace do a carbon tubed frame in its box section hand made days?

I swear I remember one – would have used Ali head tube, BB, dropouts etc with bonded in carbon “tubes”?

So that basically leaves blade and whites?

Is the Glyncorrwyg cafe still open? If so anybody know what time it shuts in the evening?

68mm. Axle length depends on cranks. The standard Styx cranks would be 113 from memory

Same with my YT. I’m your height and went for medium and the Escarpe would be the same

Only thing you need to bear in mind is whether a dropper will work. I had to swap my reverb for a smaller drop version

IME using them with sticky / corroded cables (so,etimes without realising) kills them as well

    I like weird designs 🙂

Went with virgin but didn’t use it

Friend had Dogtag and they weren’t particularly helpful. Made him jump through every hoop imaginable

Have to agree. Only downside of bigger rotors is a bit of weight

They can also be more sensitive to setup issues

Oh and on a full sus removing another thing to catch mud around the cranks / pivot is a bonus

My Jeffsy is 2x and it’s great. My hemlock was 1x but with a 9 spd 34 t cassette and that was too big a gear for steep tech

Saying that, the YT has 42t 11spd and I am considering 1x purely to loose a cable and shifter and de clutter the bars a little

    Deffo

Well worth the marginal weight increase for more power and modulation and less fade

The 5:10 can be a bit orthopaedic shoe. I got put off by the weight and looks of older models, but the newer ones seem a lot better

Actually, that one’s up for debate. Depending on where the centre of mass can (or rather can’t) be positioned, the rear brake may be theoretically redundant.

True, I know what you mean, but generally surely a decent brake will offer more control and braking power than a locked wheel or using your legs to slow a wheel

A bike with 2 brakes will stop more quickly than a bike with 1 brake.

A brakeless fixie on the road will have less control than a bike with standard brakes, because you can either skid the back wheel, or you can use your legs to slow the wheel…but a proper brake will be better.

    Disc brakes are good

    Big disc brakes are better

Might be repairable but I would be amazed if the body itself isnt misaligned

Yeah that is a bit of a bummer but I believe was unavoidable due to circumstance

Turns out they fit quite easily as they sent 44mm cups, not 49mm 1.5″ cups 🙄

If you did an hr you might get 300Wh

    Elec is probably around £0.15/kWh

    + £0.03/kWh export

+ FiT Tariff (as its renewable – lets guess at £0.3/kWh)

    So 0.3kWh x (£0.15 + £0.03 + £0.30)

    =14.4p / hr

Gonna take a while to make your millions, especially if you eat anything in that hr 🙂

Bloke at the first CLIC with brand new fox vanillas with them the wrong way round.

140 on mine was great, 160 was fun but the front end gets the back end into trouble 🙂

This was on the older version with slightly steeper HA

    Probably wrong adaptor, somehow

I had a similar thing with a BULB and it was because they had changed the adaptor slightly at some point in the range life

2.4″ Nobby Nics were horrible on 717’s

IF Spesh 2.3 are BIG 2.3’s then might be a bit weird

What Benderoni is doing looks nuts!

    http://dirt.mpora.com/news/rampage-update-kirill-benderoni.html

The 70 foot canyon gap a few of them have been doing is a bit insane too!

Did he pull this off? Didn’t seem anything of him.

Got a bongo – its a great versatile bit of kit.

Never heard the towbar thing – the bongo forums don’t seem to ever mention it and the bongo specialists sell towbars for them. I have one that mounts with some very chunky metal. A friend carries a trials motorbike on a rack on the back of his one! People tow boats etc…

If the towbar was not well fitted or the chassis was rusty then…

The NUM asking for 43% is out of context without knowing their actual pay. If it was to provide the workers a living wage then so be it.
