    Aeffect 24mm.

It appears to be measured as total spindle length, including the bit that’s fixed inside the LH crank. I thought it was generally measured internally between the crank arms (as per bearing spacing)

I run conti travel contacts – a 75% road 25% off road sort of tyre. almost as good as a road tyre onroad, okish on dry offroad

Funnily enough, I’m just swapping these out for some cheap Michelin things. They are brilliant on the road and dry off-road as you say. Coming off the downs in the wet on them was…slightly nerve-wracking 🤣

My cheapy tongshen has been fine in 2000 miles of gritty commuting (from a water/mud ingress POV). I’ve just got some xc tyres for it for some light off-road so will see what happens…

I wouldn’t think twice about an off-the-shelf ebike. Not fit for purpose if they can’t handle it.

Yep. New helmet. The foam will be crushed which reduces it’s efficacy.

    Manufacturer may offer crash replacement?

I can see the part about not being able to ride a bike at all in your own garden does seem like over-enforcement, too.

I suspect that’s more along the lines of ‘you can’t operate your business without change of use’

They can’t stop him riding his bike around his garden, surely?

4mm total flex wouldn’t bother me at all.

Had a frame get squashed slightly in transit and it was worse than that, but was fine for years.

Pilgrim is a bellend, no question, after he tore up Landseer park and the bmx track in Ipswich Magura dropped him, at the start of one of his later vids he had a little sulky moan about loosing them and not knowing why.

    Is that the reason?

I don’t really see that the actions of the complainant would have swayed the council one way or another. Seems a red herring.

He didn’t have planning for something that needed planning, especially as change of use.

The complainants letter is just dirty laundry being aired

Interested in this too. Couldn’t riding bikes be equally for his leisure as his profession? How can they say he can’t ride bikes there? Or is it just not ride bikes in a professional capacity? If the latter could he still keep those skinnies – for trials practice – he’s not a professional trials rider?

I doubt we have heard the full story…

I presume it us down to riding bikes being his job so he has created a workplace. Possibly change of use too if it is agricultural land.

This must form part of it, otherwise retrospective planning would be a possibility?

As someone above mentioned, if this bloke gets doxxed then this could get uglier…

Semenuk seemed pretty unexcited by his win

He is amazingly talented but I don’t find him that interesting to watch as it feels like there is zero passion. Comes across like a mountain biking Mark Zuckerberg 😉

That’s probably grossly unfair and I haven’t seen that side of him…

Now they feel a bit like buying from Ali express.

Heavy tyres aren’t needed for the downs – something good rolling and that clears well (if it’s wet as it’s clayey mud). Nothing grips on wet chalk anyway 😉

Bearing / bush failure leads to the pedal rotating against the nut, which undoes it.

Speed differential can be high but it’s not too busy at this time of year. It’s generally fine though.

    Sports bikes love it.

You can cut in land in a few places.

If it’s windy it can be a drag.

Feed in tariff I guess with full export. It could be the case if it is a ‘rented’ roof space but searches etc should have highlighted that.

Are you sure that’s right though? You should be able to see what side of the meter it feeds to. It may just be a tariff

    This kind of thing…?

We know we have an urgent duty to do more to protect women and girls.

Here are some questions you can ask if you have concerns about an officer.

If you feel you are in imminent danger, always dial 999.

That is absolutely insane. Victim blaming at its finest.

I can’t help but think that the police effectively telling people to resist arrest is going to end very badly for somebody

I still prefer Shimano UNxx Square taper cartridge bbs as they solve all these alignment and sealing issues in a £20 unit. In my 32 years of mtbing they have been the single biggest advance in reliability 🙂

The BBs were fine. It was the stretched taper in the lh crank arms that was the issue 😁

You can use a GSHP to store energy, to a degree. Best if you have a runway or similar though 😁

A battery would work quite well. V2G is also viable

Not yet, but it’s part of our plans in the near future.

House needs some work to enable low temperature heating systems, but we have an extension planned which will help get this done.

Next car will be electric as more s/h options with adequate range become available. I couldn’t afford a car that new at the moment.

I would like to know why he was still a policeman considering the issues of flashing and apparently his nickname was rapist really a police officer.

Quite. Some severe failings led to Couzens not being correctly investigated and thus still a police officer, which enabled him to commit this horrific act.

This needs to be be investigated, and the people / systems responsible for the failings bought to account.

It begs the question…what else is hiding in plain sight?

Higher bars shorten effective reach and push the weight back a bit. Your arms aren’t parallel with the head tube.

I had to do the opposite on my old hemlock. I ended up with +7mm adjust reach headset, longer stem and lower bars as otherwise it felt like I was on a Segway. Jeffsy is slightly too big for me in reality, but it’s easier to make a long bike shorter without making it ride like a barge

Completely unusable on stock Chrome this morning with no extensions. Got stuck in a loop of cookies on the cookie killer page!

Under my Firefox install with various adblockers/no tracking extensions installed (that I normally wouldn’t use for STW) – it works fine…

    This is on Android

Just clean it with Acetone or Isopropyl Alcohol. Don’t need to overthink it
