Could be a REIN issue, something you can check yourself

Tune a radio in to MW 612khz and if you hear a loud buzz it is probably interference from an electrical source

Faulty thermostats (Central heating, Immersion heaters).
Electrical power supply units (Laptops, Routers, Plasma TVs).
Industrial/Commercial power usage (Electric Railways, Electric fences, Electric motors).
Decorative electrical items (Christmas tree lights, Touch lights).
Security systems (PIR lights switching on and off).
Digital Communication Receivers (Satellite and Freeview set top boxes).
Internal power and telecoms cables run close together at the End User.

Not an exhaustive list, but something to think about

Also saw the Gillan, Blackmore,Lord,Paice and Glover line up and by christ they were loud, great too

Went to one disastrous Purple gig with Tommy Bolin at Wembley, Empire Pool always had lousy acoustics, but it was pretty dreadful anyway

Hated my job for about the last twelve months, the previous thirty six years had good and bad times, mostly ok though.

Just over a year before I am fifty five and can retire so will put up with it for now, had I been younger would defintely be looking elsewhere

Specsavers are franchises so the Optometrist is likely also the owner or has some personal financial interest.

This could mean they are more sales orientated than somewhere like Tesco who operate the Opticians as a loss leader to get you in the shop

Modern day BC have an album out soon entitled The Journey to accompany a tour bearing the same name

Think it will be more akin to The Crossing than some of the later BC albums

Porrohman is still my favourite track, saw the new look band last year and was great hearing all the old tunes again. Still got the green cover vinyl of The Crossing, always hard when your best album is the first one

CS2? I think this thread must be 10 years old!

Thye just made it free to download now it’s no longer supported, can only wonder what cameras the embedded Camera RAW feature supports

Bit long in the tooth now and would be much better off getting a more recent version of PSE on Ebay for not much money

Done it myself with magazines with their three issues for a pound and then forgot to cancel

More than likely just need to repeat the cleaning process, not guaranteed to shift stubborn crud with one go

Dust in the view finder never shows up on images, just a bit annoying until you get used to it

If you use a magnifying glass or loupe you might be able to see the muck on the sensor, don’t forget it’s position will be transposed on the image.

Few dust bunnies wouldn’t usually put a prospective buyer off, can be cloned out easily enough if they don’t fancy a sensor clean

No problem Rich, it’s not the actual sensor you are cleaning just the low pass filter that sits in front of it.

Just be careful and use a sensible amount of force when wiping across with the swab.

Always worth checking after you have given it a puff out with the rocket blower, might have shifted it, but does sound like yours needs a wet clean

The original 5D seemed to be bit of a dust magnet, but the later mkII model seems much better, guess the sensor clean gadget does some good.

Only use a swab once and don’t try to wipe it back the other way, just drags any crud back across

Put a well charged battery in the camera then find the clean sensor/mirror up option in the menu

Hold camera upside down and give few puffs with a rocket blower

Next is get correct size swab for your sensor Swabs and put on one or two drops of sensor cleaning cleaning fluid. Wipe over sensor once then discard, new swab/fluid and wipe back in opposite direction

Take picture of white piece of paper with small aperture and check for dust bunnies, if needed do again

That’s all the shop will do for forty or fifty quid, just be sensible with it and save yourself some cash now and in the future

the staff obviously realized she did’nt know anything about cameras and took full advantage ‘persuading’ her that she also had to buy an incredible amount on extras (case, battries, chargers etc) at crazy inflated prices.

Hope they got taken back for a refund although I suspect the prices were just rrp

Nearest Tesco or Sainsbury is about six miles away, so tend to use the Waitrose that is a five to ten minute walk.

Wouldn’t mind trying any shop, but it would have to be local, shopping is bad enough without driving miles if you don’t have to.

due to the shonky wiring the BT used in 1992 when the house was built

Seeing as that system (E/O or Exchange Outlet) was/is used to connect many large buildings in our cities what makes you think it’s shonky. In fact lots of alarm companies used it along with other sensitive operational businesses.

No doubt you had an excellent ADSL speed over copper and in time technology will exist to enable you to have superfast broadband too.

Discounting some of the utter codswallop on this thread with regard to pixel density and build quality all the cameras mentioned are more than adequate

40D was ok, I had two, but are very dated now and many suffered from shutter button problems,60D is halfway house between xxxD range and 7D

Has extra features such as top LCD, rear control wheel and more direct control buttons plus pentaprism instead of mirror, but has polycarbonate body not the magnesium one of the 7D

In your position assuming you already have Canon lenses I would probably go for the 60D. If make isn’t important have a look at the Pentax K-30, top camera for the money

Few omissions that I thought would have got more of a mention

Iron Maiden, Cream, Judas Priest, Motorhead, UFO, Thin Lizzy, Bad Company, ZZ Top and Rush to name but a few

Do agree that Big Country were excellent live and new album out soon I believe

Was this the one advertised on telly for a tenner?

Are the birds named by species or is it just any random feathered creature including roadkill

Waitrose did a five birder for two hundred quid, but they were specific in the birds used and wanted to be for that money

Completely lost it at a team meeting, ripped into the company, threatened the manager and fair few of his lackeys too. Calmed down slightly then came back for the second round, shortest meeting ever

Suspended and ended up with final written warning, slightly mitigated by the steroid induced rage (very high dose of 60mg a day to break up a severe cluster headache bout)

Had a look at a mates 5D and 7D side by side and there’s a noticeable difference in heft

I have both (7D and 5D MKII) and have to disagree with you on that statement, hardly any difference in size and weight Size Comparison Website
