She is doing Maths and Statistics.

All sorted now, she wanted the Toshiba and don’t blame her really, was very nice and owed her an 18th birthday present.

Got the 200 quid off and took the extra two years warranty for 53 quid, as I mentioned not keen on extended cover, but not too concerned for 50p a week

Bit jealous now although I wouldn’t know how to work all the different stuff

    Cheers

One large telecoms company is really taking the piss with their employees

Not content with messing up the pensions whereby employees will have to work an extra five years to get what they expected and imposing a pay freeze
(this comes after paying various departing managers millions for messing up big time)

Now they are trying to impose rostered working hours that could start at 7am and finish at 9pm, compulsory saturdays and being able to extend the working day by 2 hours up to three times a week
Even worse in my opinion they also want to be able to force people to work away from home for up to 4 months a year

All this on top of still making a profit and exporting a bucket load of jobs to the subcontinent.

This particular company like to make a big deal about work life balance, yeah right!!

Reckon You will get stung, I did when I went in my loft before realising there was a nest
Bought some Raid wasp nest destroyer, fires a jet of the chemical a good distance

Popped my head up there with a torch, opened fire and shut the hatch down again a bit sharpish.

Gave it a day and the nest had collapsed with a good few corpses and the rest had either gone or were on their last legs

    Forgot poor old Pentax again.
The K-m is their entry model and then the mid range K20D followed by the new K7 which seems by the early reviews to be very good indeed

Also well worth a look is the recently discontinued K200D, excellent camera and weather sealed too for the price of one of the entry level Canikons

Even better they take all the old K mount lenses of which there are loads at a goodly price

I meant Youngs Bitter is far superior than London Pride from a Tin

And Youngs Special is very nice too as is Ramrod

Not a patch on Youngs Bitter especially from a tin

At least its not that foul liquid known as Greene King IPA or even worse anything from the Charles Wells collection

Bloke dropped dead in a pub I used to drink in, stuck him under the pool table whilst waiting for the ambulance to show.

People carried on playing pool with his legs sticking out from the end of the table (one bloke had to slightly move one of the legs to get a better stance)and someone else drunk his leftover three quarters of a pint.

Can’t imagine those two gypsies bodies would have caused that much distraction or upset to the evenings drinking.

No idea why, but its been that way since 1965, makes a damn fine ringtone too (unless your in a pub with fellow supporters and everyone has the same tune)

Indeed a strange combination, wouldn’t a short and long zoom be better if you just want two lenses

Fisheye is very specialised, I do have a wide angle fisheye adapter thingy, but only used it once

Don’t forget the 200mm will give you more like 300mm when you take the crop factor into account

Remember seeing one in a flypast over central london when I was a kid

Escorted by a Lightning fighter, still remember it now and especially how noisy it was.

You won’t find a Pentax in Jessops, apparently they refused to give them a credit line.
Not surprising with the precarious state Jessops are in, shares at about 2p and owing the banks £60m

Best advice as already mentioned, see what feels comfortable and go from there. Don’t think you will find a bad camera these days, so all down to personal choice

    Don’t forget Pentax

Great range of old lenses to choose from, decent entry level camera in the K-m, nice mid range with the K20D and the new K7 which looks a match for Canikon models in that price range

My favourite is the recently discontinued K200D, in built anti shake, dust cleaner and best of all weather sealed.

Be careful with the cheaper Nikon’s, they don’t have a AF motor, so you will need lenses with a motor built in and they ain’t cheap. Same with Image stabilistation, if the body doesn’t have it, you will have to buy lenses with it in

Olympus and Sony both make good cameras too, don’t be lulled into thinking you must buy a Canikon.

Available as a spare part from Madison at the price of one pound each

Sorry, only got one spare left now after I saw one roll off down the drain last week whilst changing shifters over

Not sure what metering method Canon use, but the Flash unit you mentioned doesn’t work with the P-TTL on Pentax.

Still can’t believe how awful the remake of Assault On Precinct 13 was and having seen the trailer for the new Taking Of Pelham 123, that doesn’t seem to have fared any better

Both classics and should have been left well alone

As for Total Recall, not exactly a great, but Ms Stone was hot, hot, hot

Not into art, but could see where she was coming from with that bed thing she did a while back
Empty drink bottles, used condoms, fag butts, load of stains, just a right boozed up and shagged out mess.

Sort of thing that brings back happy memories of a bad/good time of life

Alternatively they might want it sent to an address where someone is there to receive it (used my ma’s address before)
Also wait until the cheque clears and the money is in your account, at least they can’t raise a paypal dispute against you.

Perhaps some more communication would help

perhaps different hex keys would be better than different lock ons.

Maybe, but they are decent Park ones, just think that these tiny bolts are less than durable.

Saw one at Fowlmere RSPB last year, came out of the water and had a wash and brush up on the bank (alas no camera)
Also saw one in the Great Ouse just below the weir at St Ives, put the fear of god in a Heron as it came ashore

We also had a resident seal a while back, frightened the life out of a mate when he was fishing, he said it looked like a black man’s head popping up in the river

Of course not, couldn’t care less about the name on a bike or where it comes from (although I did see a very similar discussion treated seriously a while back)

Get down there with your 800 quid and enjoy, you could always get some Merlin Decals (US ones)to put on it 😀

Nothing against Carlisle, but would have preferred the trip to Northampton next season.

Looking a good few southern games next year especially if Norwich drop tomorrow. Becoming like the old div 3 north and south, maybe makes more sense with the financial climate being what it is

Real quandry though with deciding who I want to win out of Millwall and Leeds, so much anger from their supporters

I was indeed just carrying on the jokey theme, not implying that the US frames are stronger or better than a Taiwan built one either.

Don’t think its being a snob to say most people would prefer to own the American frame if money was no object.

Bit surprised though that they get away with using the Merlin name, others have come a cropper in a similar situation
