A few runners up namely Oasis, Beatles, Coldplay, Yes, Dire Straits and Police
But the outright winner must be, wait for it, the tediously repetitive band that is Genesis
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberSennheisers are very good for a while then they sort of degrade. On my third set in twelve months, first set from Amazon and the last two direct from Sennheiser in High Wycombe, so definitely not fakes.
Bought these as a standby whilst waiting for the last Sennheisers to return and they are great value (mine are the Black ones though)
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberUse the ethernet adapters if you don't want to hardwire direct from the homehub
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberThese are very good, don't worry about being HK based, great service and if you google them sure the reviews will set your mind at ease
http://www.onestop-digital.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_29&products_id=301I had the 24-70 good lens, but the wide end just wasn't wide enough with the crop factor, don't forget you need to multiply by 1.6 to get the effective focal length
Still think the 17-70 would be your best bet especially for 189 quid.
Also worth a look at the Sigma 18-50, that's 2.8 throughout its range, but a bit pricierTijuanaTaxiFree MemberTamron 17-50 f/2.8 gets good reviews and can be got a bit cheaper now they have brought out the stabilised version
I use a Sigma 17-70, f/2.8-4.5 only gets f2.8 up to 18mm, but gives a great pic and has a handy range too
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberSurely the bloke who was selling it has his name and address registered with Ebay
The winning bidder should be able to request it, he must either be the thief or know who it isTijuanaTaxiFree MemberHi Skyliner, really hope you haven't been ripped off, does leave a bad taste and makes you lose a bit of faith in the trust system on which we all rely.
From that thread of mine it proves just how decent the vast majority of people are, you are right though the real lowlifes will always find a way to get round any safeguards. Making it a bit harder for them would no doubt put some of the chancers off though. As an aside, quick update on my situation, still no items.
Seller didn't directly refund me, but he did make a donation to the Russ appeal which closes the matter for me.
That thread went on a bit(lot)although I think it helped make clear the standards expected in this type of tradingHope you get that knock from the postie
Cheers
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberFair size pond he has too
Being more serious, I think its about time that the people that just come on here to sell are dealt with
Firstly don't let the classifieds be available to lurkers, only registered users. Stops casual browsers just coming on here for a bargain and not contributing to other topIcs. also stops passers by finding it for a scamming opportunityNext have a minimum post of 100 or more before you can start to sell, obviously needs be something other than everytime someone posts a pic of a bike, a reply saying "nice bike" so mods involved to check
Lastly a more rigid set of rules, such as need to give name, addresss and tel number before a sale is allowed (by email for obvious reasons)
All communication apart from the exchanging of personal/payment details to be shown on the thread for transparencyAnyone disobeying the rules to get banned and lifetime ban if trying to re-register or caught scamming
That's enough for a start, but all this dodgy dealing must stop soon, maybe begin afresh for the new year
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberSounds like the adapter has had it, could you try hard wiring the vision box into the home hub with an ethernet cable
At least that would prove it one way or anotherTijuanaTaxiFree MemberThe actual sum involved doesn't matter, in fact I mentioned very early on it was a trifling sum.
If they did turn up I won't be making a public apology, never accused the seller of not sending them and all along assumed they were missing in action.
The only point here is that I paid in good faith, didn't receive the goods and then received a very dissappointing reply to my polite email.
Mentioned it on here firstly because I wanted to be sure I was making the correct assumption and secondly to express my displeasure at the less than acceptable response from a forum member.
If the seller refunds me the money I will donate it to charity, in fact thinking about it the Russ appeal would seem the obvious choice.
Really want this to end now as i'm sure everybody else does too, still surprised though that the seller refuses to accept the moral and legal implications involved.
(postie just been and no CD's)
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberHow about Ti Man gives the money to a charity of TT's choice?
Works for me, RNLI is always my favoured charity
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberMy old man worked in a garage opposite Bow Church, seems weird now with the Olympics to be held just off Hackney Marshes
Would never have believed it, whole area needs some money spent on it though
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberWas definitely the Gazette, came out twice a week.
Near Cambridge now, straight up the M11
Whereabouts are you?
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberGood on yer, got a bit much for me bringing up a youngster
Realised that when I thumbed through the Hackney Gazette and the bad things no longer shocked or even surprised me
Only go back now to watch the O's
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberThanks for the offer RichPenny, one was a Deep Purple oldie "Burn"and the other was the second Evansence album
Think what annoyed me even more was that he sold them because in his words he Digitised
Could have at least burnt me a couple of replacements, would have been my first thought if roles were reversedEnd of now, no court action or violence, lived in the East End for forty years and that ain't the answer
Just hope he feels proud of his actions and maybe a tinge of guilt when he gives it some thought
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberSo has he decided to mess others about now?
More I think about it the more it pisses me off that he cannot understand the rights and wrongs of his actions
So I have no CD's, no cash and he still doesn't give a shit despite the overwhelming condemnation of his peers
Its not the money, never has been, but I hate being turned over and to think he mentioned me pulling the wool over his eyes
This coming from the person who doesn't even have a free receipt proving he ever sent the goodsMy advice is avoid this bloke when it comes to trading for obvious reasons
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberGot banned from a well known Audio Visual forum's classified section
Very strange situation, I was the buyer and paying using paypal "gift"
So the seller would have my money and the goods, yet I needed to provide credentialsCouldn't quite see why, queried it and got an "infraction" which was actually a ban
Still not sure what I did wrong, but hey ho its their site and that's it, end of
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberNothing to add really, the replies say it all
Didn't appreciate the won't sell to you again remark though
You have got the cash, don't take the piss out of me too if you don't mind
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberOnly a trifling sum for a couple of CD's, but it has just peed me off that anyone on here could act so mean spirited especially with no proof of postage.
This sort of reply is not what I expect from a fellow bikerIf you'd wanted insured post or recorded post then you should have said so. I wont refund this. I have to trust to what you have said and for all I know you could have them and just be pulling the wool over my eyes. I dont think you have but as I said if you'd wanted come back on post then you should have requested insured/recorded.
I am sorry but wont do that or anything like that
Not into naming and shaming, but you know who you are and hope the above comments make you realise who is in the right from a moral point of view.
Happy ChristmasTijuanaTaxiFree MemberForgot about Maiden, Churchill's Spech before Aces High
Very stirring indeed
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberSome D5000 have had a recall (might even be two) over a power problem
Best have a google and see what serial numbers are affected in case you buy older stock
Not overly sure of the details, just remember seeing something when I was looking to buy a new DSLRWent for the Canon 500D mainly because that's what suited by unusually small hands
Really would be a good idea to let your missus handle the cameras first, she is never going to enjoy using it if the handling is all wrongTijuanaTaxiFree MemberOne of the great mysteries of the universe, perhaps one of you can help?
Why do teachers when in a pub always sit round one table no matter how many of them there are or how small the table is
We always wondered about this in my local and even when we asked some of them never got a definitive answer
Have seen the same behaviour in other pubs too, so its not just a one offOver to you
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberThunderball – Deep Purple
Think that might have been Fireball from Deep Purple, tis indeed a good intro though
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberCan't believe Smoke on the Water hasn't got a mention or another Blackmore tune "Man on the Silver Mountain" (which sounds suspiciously like the intro to Money for Nothing albeit a lot earlier)
My favourite is yet another one of Mr Blackmore's, Rainbows "Tarot Woman"
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberHow about try the Canon 55-250, great lens for the money and with IS too
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberOnce had a similar experience in Borders
Walked out and set the alarm off, staff member grabbed me and asked to search my bag.
I refused knowing I had done nothing wrong, he then said he was calling the police.I replied he had better be sure because if they came and found nothing I would sue the arse of them.
He didn't seem too sure even though by now the shift manager was present (slightly different because my 14st frame, few scars and missing front tooth is slightly more intimidating)Then said I was leaving and if they touched me I would consider it assault and would have no other recourse than to act in self defence
Walked out unhindered and then just to see what set the alarm off went back and tested the only item it could have been which was something I had just bought in Maplins (obviously hadn't had any anti theft protection removed) and yes I did have a receipt for it
Bit unnerving, but your experience sounds a lot worse, hope you feel ok now.
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberLike most mags, enjoyable for a while until it starts being too repetitive
Got the first 51 issues, but cancelled my sub nowThe first ten or maybe up to 20 were excellent then got a bit too mainstream and commercial
(fair enough though it is a business after all)My long term favourite is still the US mag "Bike" only one that really makes me want to get out and ride
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberGot the Pixma 4600 and its excellent, fast too
Daresay the aforementioned 4700 is pretty decent too
Only downside is they keep primimg the heads with ink when you turn on and off, just leave mine switched on to avoid wastage
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberThink I will hang on until you get that nice new Canon 7D 😀
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberReally not that keen on non anglo saxon women, just one of those things and nothing to do with racism, just the way it is and what floats my boat
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberNot for me, bit too lean and doubt I would be her type anyway
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberLot of running about avoiding explosions
Blond American girl is obviously a bad egg who has the tatooed bloke just where she wants him after a bedding session.
He now knows she is a wrong'un, but looks like he is being led round by his willyOh and a gratuitous close up of the hard looking ladies bum in tight jeans as she ran up a fire escape, nicer than the front view I must say
Can't remember much else, clips from next week looked a bit more interesting
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberTotally agree, Blink was the best episode
Any coincidence that the title character wasn't in it much
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberThink you have to wait either 21 days or sooner if you get positive feedback
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberJust started a new load of nonsense at my place, capabilities, development plans etc etc
In the end just said i didn't have a clue what they were on about and was far too busy to waste hours on all this rubbish
See what happens now I suppose, my only aspiration is stay a bit longer and retire, not really developing these days eitherTijuanaTaxiFree MemberThere's a Black Police Officer's Association dont'cha know
Bet they don't need a very big table to sit round, something like the average dining type would probably suffice
It's called the Proms
Or if you believed some people the Nuremberg Rally what with all that patriotic fervour and flag waving
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberSome towns have a policy of not building over a certain height.
Would they still apply that rule for a minaret even if it was deemed as rascist
Hope they would, but the loony left would be onto them like a shot with all sorts of mad accusations
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberThis might help a bit, perhaps any two of those mentioned
TijuanaTaxiFree MemberLong term weather forecasts are pretty much pointless imo
Dead right, think short term is pretty much a waste of time too judging by their inaccuracy
