That evil looking woman would frighten people no matter what she had on

Can't even begin to imagine what she looks like with no PJ's and don't want to either

Many years ago when I was still a young man repairing telephones I called at a house and was welcomed in by a pleasant looking lady in her 30's

Tea and biscuits were offered, started chatting and got on to how she was glad to see somebody for a chat, got very lonely and arrangements were made for after work drinks.
A very pleasant night followed and a young chap went off to work next day feeling rather chipper

Kept in contact and a further meeting was arranged for the weekend

Rest of the week went well and couple of days later found myself attending a house in the same road, got chatting and I mentioned the lady with whom I had made the friendship
The householder knew Carol and said how sorry for her she felt since her husband went to prison, oh said i how awful, nothing too serious i hope?

Well sort of, attempted murder of his wife's fella, surprisingly we didn't see each other again and swapped with a mate to another patch

Lesson learnt although it was still very tempting in a dangerous sort of way

What a load of old cobblers, lavish church/stately home weddings, overrated and overpriced holier than thou photographers and the majority of this thread

Thanks for the material though. some great stuff here for my next stand up gig, cheers for that especially the photographer stuff

Just need to chuck in a few about the red or mustard leather DFS sofa, how many pointy bits you have on top of the conservatory, you can see tesco extra superstore if you stand on a stool in the back bedroom, green camo calor gas bottles for the mobile kitchen bbq and guaranteed laughs all round

Just wonder why anyone who is non religious wants to get married in a church?

    TijuanaTaxi

    Blimey. Divorced are we?

Happily married actually with a 19yr old daughter and married in a registry office

There's a very bitter man if ever I read one.

Not bitter at all, just find it obscene to spend so much money on one day, sort of the same way i feel about footie players wages

I live opposite a church and see all the comings and goings, would be banged out if all the happy couples that married there attended on a Sunday

And the next photographer who decides my drive is a good vantage point can pay if they are getting weighed in with two and a half grand
(usually just tell them to clear off, but must be worth 20 quid or so)

The whole church wedding thing is obscene from a price and moral point of view

Can't see the point unless you are religious, most times the couple have never even been to a church before and some have kids in tow

Utter hypocrisy and deserve to get stung with all the stupid prices

Churches are no better, they just want the money and couldn't give a stuff either

Pay up for the photos, crap old car, bland cake and then if statistics are to be believed get divorced (another shed load of cash)

Lot cheaper the 2nd or 3rd time although i'm sure the church will marry divorced couples if the money is right, slip a few twenties in a prayer book

Worked in their big meeting house In Gt Queen St

Very impressive building and is the external view they depict as MI5 HQ in Spooks

Stil a weird old crew though and thought to be too influential in the places of power

That Puffin isn't really flying, just pissed up and laying flat on its back, probably slipped on the snow.
Has happened to me, so not that unbelievable

Since I first saw that Wolf shot in AP it has always reminded me of a show jumper. If it was narrated no doubt some one would be saying in a poncy voice "he's gawn clear"

I am also in St Ives and wouldn't trust Richardsons either, so don't blame you there
How about Grafham Water, they have a fairly good workshop or Ben Hayward's in Cambridge or at least their workshop
The head honcho lives in St Ives and used to pick up and drop off a bike for the bloke two doors up from me when he had it serviced

I have a fair selection of tools, workstand and know how (apart from the specialist stuff like facing tools) so if you get stuck get in touch and might be able to help

They haven't gone bust, just the holding company that has been liquidated

Bank has taken control as it knew it would never get its loan back and the holding company has been liquidated

Probably puts them in a better financial position and the shops are continuing to trade
They have also taken up space in some WH Smiths to get a more central position in some cities, Manchester I believe is the first of these.

By a strange coincidence my daughter got a rogue one in her veggie mince on Saturday
Sent her a bit mental and don't suppose she will ever eat that again

It was a small green one, dead as a dodo though as it had been well and truly cooked in the bolognese sauce

Can't be bothered to take it back, load of agro for about £1.50 and the birds enjoyed all that was left including the aforementioned caterpillar

Igls is probably the best for beginners and a nice tram ride up from Innsbruck

One other thing to try if you can is a go on the Olympic Bobsleigh run, they take two passengers and its brilliant

Have you tried downloading the card via a card reader?

Sounds like the memory card might have got corrupted, you will have to format it in the camera, but that would mean losing everything

If you want a lens in that sort of range give it a try

That was a great programme, soundtrack was excellent too, Eric Clapton I think.
The black flowers bit at the end left me a bit confused, didn't really get that.

Strangely enough Traffic the movie was on earlier this week and that wasn't a patch on the TV version with Bill Patterson

Reckon the 500D would have better high iso noise reduction than the 40D although it certainly isn't as robust

    TijuanaTaxi
    Free Member

Had a 500D for a while now and can't fault it really, think you will notice how much better the screen is and the live view is handy at times especially for the DOF preview.

Yes it does have noise at high ISO, but sometimes its nice to get a shot even if it is a bit noisy, better than nothing at all

Worth experimenting with the in camera settings for sharpness correction etc, think i have found my ideal settings, but obviously that's a subjective thing

Haven't noticed the extra pixels causing any problems and they do make tight cropping easier, not sure they make much of a diference to the overall image though

How about using decoys, during the war they used something called "Q" ships
Basically what seemed to be a tramp steamer was actually a heavily armed gunboat. They had guns hidden behind what seemed to be cargo and once the raiders were drawn in, blew the crap out of them
