I can choose to drive 7 miles each way to Tesco/Sainsburys or walk five minutes to Waitrose, its also next to the bus station where I get off on my way home

Not willy waving, just shopping locally, saving petrol costs and valuable time
Did the same in London when my nearest supermarket was Sainsburys in Walthamstow Market.

Taxi,
Is your cat getting a bit deaf maybe being oldish?
Hence the loud meowing?

Good point, could well explain the volume increase, just strange that she never meowed before and now seems unable to stop

The shite in waitrose is no better than the shite in asda, lidl or anywhere else

Sorry, but that isn't quite correct

For instance the Waitrose Free Range Scotch egg is entirely different to the ones bought in Tesco or Sainsburys and is a far superior culinary experience
It has a nice peppery sausage meat coating with an egg displaying a fine porcelain white albumen with rich yellow yolk
Unlike the usual tasteless light brown thing with a grey and pale yellow oval object inside

The quiche is similarly different in its taste and appearance, I can only suggest you try them for yourself and then draw your own conclusions

Mine has started meowing really loudly lately after having been quiet for the past 14 years of its life

Sorry for bit of a thread hijack, but has anyone else noticed their cat getting noisier as it aged

Beer always made me sleepy, my local had a nice leather Chesterfield near the open fire
Wasn't unknown for me to doze off on a chilly winter's night after a few pints of Broadside.

Think its all the chemical and high strength crap that sends drinkers a bit loopy, definitely a more modern day trend towards drink fuelled violence

My local supermarket is Waitrose (5 mins walk)its quite small and can be a bit lacking with product range, but my preferred choice for the friendly staff and more laid back atmosphere.

Always feel Tesco's are trying to con me and no doubt do even if I can't always spot it
Two slices of ham please doesn't mean furtively slip three in thanks and why is anything on the deli always just(hugely)over and never under the amount you ask for
Does ripen at home mean rock hard and inedible then goes rotten, never really spotted the ripe stage, must last for about ten minutes

Sainsbury's are not much better, finding the fire glow bulb above the Tomatoes put me right off, wondered why they looked so ripe

Bit before my time, but my old man reckoned Duncan Edwards was the best he ever saw

Hate to say it, but Maradona was a class apart on his day
That second goal against England was amazing and just knew he was going to score when he started that run

Am I the only one who saw the present and thought "that's quite nice, I'd like to do that"?

Quite probably, sounds bloody awful to me, now a wheelbuilding weekend

Go on the course, sounds like she has made a lot of effort and no point upsetting her

Anyway what's wrong with the 5? I bet you could get STW to chip in and help get it on the road

What you short of? i've got some new tubes you are welcome to and probably dig out some cables as well along with a SRAM PC59 chain if its any use
Don't ride much these days and got enough spares to see me out

Just think what good they could have done with the 2.6 Billion dollars they have paid in the US alone since 1950 to pay off victims or as damages for child abuse

Where do they get that sort of money from?

Also like to know how they carry on as clergy, surely they should be on the sex offenders list just like other paedophiles.
That would prevent them coming into contact with children through their work, bloody hell just realised they handle babies for christenings!!

Don't get a Toshiba, their customer care stinks

Grands worth of nine month old laptop needed new Hard drive, Motherboard and Keyboard
Took them a month to repair under warranty and then sent it back with a different OS, Vista Business instead of my Home Premium

When I complained that it wouldn't activate (obviously because I had the wrong product key) offered me a recovery disc for 30 quid
Mentioned it might be nice for free as a goodwill gesture and got told basically to f*** off

What a load of old tosh

Chap where I used to work in London previously had amongst his other duties the job of Dog Destroyer at Battersea Dogs Home

Although i'm not keen on Dogs, wouldn't fancy doing that very much

Have a try at this if your feeling brave
Dust Cleaning

Or give these a go, service and clean for approx 60 quid, warranty on the work for six months.
Heard good things about them and might even send my 17-55mm to them for a clean out
ACS

Must say never noticed any problems with dust showing on pics and mine has a fair bit. Much more likely to be sensor dust bunnies if you can see anything.
A small scratch shouldn't be too bad either especially if its near the edge, amazing how bad it has to be before anything shows up.

Pixmania are a bit iffy at times especially with a lot of manuals being in French
Amazon are always reliable as are the others you mentioned along with Park Cameras and a good many local camera shops are excellent too

This will give you an indication on suppliers and prices
Camerapricebuster

When I bought my last DSLR got the best price and damn good service at Currys (might have been lucky because the chap was obviously a camera nut) but don't overlook the obvious places

Where is the late Stuart Adamson, deserves to be there just for keeping a guitar band going during a very lean period

Very underrated band were Big Country and still love that classic line from Chance

Not sure what the modern version is, but my Canon A720 IS has been great

Works for ages on 2 x AA's, manual control settings and stabilised too
Yes its made from plastic, but used for work and not been treated very carefully at all

Daresay it has a modern incarnation, well worth checking out

Not liking the idea of a whole tube replacement.

Probably the best solution though, bit hard to patch I would have thought and apart from unsightly not great from a structual angle

TijuanaTaxi

Blimey, must be very thin there for that sort of damage.
My old Merlin just scratches a bit and then gets a quick scrub up with a scourer

Not being picky, but which one was it, fair enough damage if you clouted it, but bit much if it was just a loose bit of flying shrapnel

A rock spat up from under the tyres

or

I agree hitting rocks is par for the course

Don't know much about Orange Ti frames, are they very pricy to buy new?

Reckon the UK repairer that was mentioned would be worth a try, might need a whole new tube from the looks of of it

More cash needed I fear if you intend to take pictures for publication

Landscapes would require a wide angle, looking at minimum 250-300 quid for something like a Sigma 10-20 and upwards from there

You would also need something in the range of 17-55 or so for the everyday stuff, so about the same again for a Tamron 17-50

Could try using one lens for the lot, along the lines of an 18-200 but the quality would be compromised as the focal range became stretched.

Ideal would be the wide angle plus midrange lens I mentioned and then a 70-200 for the longer stuff

If I just wanted one lens my choice would be the canon 17-55 IS, superb picture quality, but its big bucks

There again may be worth it if you are getting cash back from the pictures

And don't forget a decent tripod too

Got the Sigma 10-20 and love the wide angle it gives on a Canon crop sensor, but hate the bendy eye look

Makes me feel queasy looking at those pics, bloody glad I ain't a fish

Might be better to resign, not looking too good for her really

Couldn't she have just gone sick when the stress got a bit much?

Although it doesn't help your mum, its good to know they caught up on this potentially damaging practice so quick.

Just hope one day an extra terrestrial shows up and we can be done with all this religious nonsense for ever.

Thought Darwin might have helped, but seems that evolution can be explained away.

Nick the child molesting clergy and get them on the sex offenders register.

Should keep them from abusing any more vunerable kids that are dragged along to a place of worship

Unfortunately like all paedophiles they are very devious and no doubt use fear to keep their victims from reporting them

Sure have if you mean XP 2010 or a variant with a similar name, got on my daughter's netbook and its removal is a bit more involved than usual

This works if you follow the instructions, renaming bit is most important

The A720is is a real bargain, got one myself and its been a great little camera

I think most people are a bit dissappointed at their first efforts from a DSLR, know I was.
Now I have a better idea it can produce some lovely pics although still have a fair few wrong'uns

Biggest problem I reckon for a newcomer is blur caused by shake. If the camera doesn't have inbuilt stabilisation try and get a lens that features it
If you want to hand hold make sure the shutter speed is sufficiently high otherwise you won't ba happy with the results
