Won't the novelty of seeing the weave wear off? Has for me anyway.

We're lucky – our 2 month old is brilliant and sleeps through the night now. I'm sure it'll be like this for the next 18 years….

Yeah that's the British attitude – ignore your neighbours.

I have the BBB one which is nice. Just had a bolt break that was meant to be torqued to 5-7Nm and I set it at 6Nm so hope it was accurate enough but how do I know? Broke 6 weeks/1000 odd miles later.

t's not about the number of GCSEs but that you max them all out with A and A*, and that a retake is seen as a red flag.

That's a shame – too many getting high grades so this is how they choose now? I did English Language and Maths year early only getting a C and B then 3 more Bs and Cs the following year – last year of GCEs. Well that was more than good enough to go on to what I wanted to do next. Ended up with MSc from Warwick which was not needed for what I wanted to do really but so many people had degrees even then so wanted something a bit extra.

I knew a bloke who kicked out his gf every few years as he thought it would stop her having any claim on his house in the future. And another chap got his log-term gf to pay rent with a rent book and refused to get married.

Providing parking to employees is a benefit that those that don't need it don't get. Either those that don't need the parking should get something or those that use the parking should pay – if all is to be fair anyway.

Whilst I agree a refund seems right I wonder if the idea is that you're paying for them to do their best – if they're wrong then you still have to pay.

shared equity you pay 80% of price then after 10 years you have to pay them the 20% left which is 20% of the homes value in 10 years time.

    Fair enough.

Surrey boy here – August has been as poor as usual but before then was the best for a few years. Had a lot of rain last night.

Was happening a lot last winter on a footpath near me; mtbers kept removing them and their persistence paid off in the end.

There has been anger that some vendors have been making a small fortune by overcharging drivers for items including noodles and hot water.

When I was in China a few years ago they had the 'worst winter for 50 years'; vendors caught overcharging were fined.

NHS charges seem OK to me; paying £45.60 for check up and some work.

I went for the 1st time in 24 years last week – was asked how long since my last visit and said '10 years or so' which got my a telling off. Got to go back today for 2 small fillings – never had any work done before. Could have been worse….

My sceptical view is that you pay for the convenience on these – i.e. they'll give you rather less for your house than it's worth on the market or you could get the house your buying for less if you weren't trading in a house; they still have to sell your house and that takes time, money and effort. Like buying cars really!

So if you ride without a permit you can sue them? OK….

Well I seemed to be riding into the wind pretty much constantly last time I did it – as impossible as that sounds. I see that route is from a few years ago as I did Holy Island too last time – very scenic.

I've lapped it a few times – tougher than you might think especially if it's windy…it's mostly windy.

The muddymoles meet in Bookham at 7:30pm on Wednesdays – that's about 20 miles from Heathrow. They ride around the N.Downs.

It ain't 40 mins to St Pauls from a lot of these places – I'm near Leatherhead. Esher, Cobham, Horsley are on a decent line into London – better than that which serves Ashtead and Dorking.

I used to get YSL shirts when I was into weights – had a 17" knock with a 32 inch waste so most shirts looked like tents on me.

If you and people coming aren't regulars then pick some that most people might know.

I went to a Catholic wedding years ago and the hymns were picked by the priest – really boring ones; pick some with a bit of life.

Deer – I saw a TV programme a while back about the RSPCA and a women found a deer that had been hit by a car but was not dead. As it was beyond saving she shot it in the head (not sure what she used for that) and then pushed it into the ditch to let nature do it's thing. So she wasn't too keen on having it for lunch but maybe she wasn't strong enough to take it away? Or maybe it wouldn't be good for their image?!

You could live in Shepherds Bush…! I lived there in the Chiswick end for 10 years and used to drive ot get on the tube/train with the bike to get out to Boxhill. Some parts of SB are rather cheaper than others – otherwise try Acton or further out to the west.

Well, I'm not going to check with the RSPCA but as crazy as it seems I think must be true – hoped someone here would know what's going on and it might all make sense. My sister appears fairly normal but she is gullible – she says her reason for not wanting the dead bird around was that her 3 year old son was taking an interest in it – good boy – but why she didn't think to throw it into a hedge or someone else's bin I have no idea.

Or a cat – would they come with a gun? Well maybe that would be the RSPB.

beermat with green on one side and red on the other

I went to one of those in NYC; an interesting experience.

Biggest burger was a Sumo burger also from NYC – 1/2lb patty. Also a 32oz steak from some vaguely famous place in a train carriage in LA.

Biggest McD consumption included 1.5 litres of vanilla milkshake – that took a while.
