Highlander 2 must surely be the worst.

I don't mind the 1st two Starwars prequels and really like the 3rd one.

The remake of Funny Games is fine but not seen the original.

although some of the remarks have come pretty close to being offensive to anyone who is actually gay.

Nah – man/woman love is much the same when you get down to the nitty gritty.

BTW2. GeeTee1972 – Orange Cotic Soul? Your bike?

I'm a bit unsure about this as I thought I had the only Orange Soul in the Surrey Hills….

In years to come Contador, if he wins, will be remembered for winning the tour and this detail largely forgotten – maybe that's the way he sees it? Hopefully the booing has had an effect though.

I've heard quite a few comments now about the Planet X SL being not so rigid in the BB area so maybe not the best option for heavier/stronger riders.

My wife is mostly OK with it though does say that I'm more interested in bikes than her – probably true. I made it clear before we married that this is what I do and if that's a problem then she has her options.

But she understands I don't spend much time in pubs or drink too much and thinks it unlikely I'll get bored and look for another woman so she seems happy really; she has a baby now so pretty busy herself these days….

robdob – I don't want to use standard mtb bars as I found the risers I used on the mtb for touring before uncomfortable. Hadn't thought about the stays being an issue but the rack I used on the mtb that was fine should be OK right? Good point about the bar bag. I've got some wheels from a CX bike that I'm planning to use so hopefully they're tough.

What rubbish !so i'm not a serious mtber because I have not got the money to spend on flaash kit?

I think the OP was meaning proper mtbs as opposed to £100 boingy things.

Anyway, we're all middle class or champagne socialist here right?

When Millar cheated they were (probably) mostly all at it still. When caught he didn't fight. Others, such as Landis, had a different attitude and continue to be have a negative influence. I do think now penalties should be stricter though I may be naive in thinking most are now clean.

I would happily see David Millar leave pro cycling as well ,as he is another cheat.

He made a mistake – overall is good for cycling now; Vino is a negative other than providing a good spectacle.

Cav is already one of the greats.

It still has a massive inferiority complex and desperately wishes it was New York

Not quite sure how a city can have such feelings but having lived there for 10 years, and also spent time working in NYC, I can't see it. I lived in West London and was doing OK financially but see how it's less appealing for the poorer. But then would anyone say that any of the larger UK cities is any better? Edinburgh in some respects perhaps.

We were only allowed to wear shorts though long sleeve tops were OK.

When out school pool was out of action a parent offered theirs neglecting to mention it was unheated and this was in November; teacher made us go in. Not that our pool was great as it was detached from the changing rooms so we had to walk outside in our trunks to the pool in sub zero temperatures at times.

lodious – doesn't your friend ever demo anything before buying it?

So what's this DAC? What transport to put it with?

The CD555 is certainly a lot of cash and if those people are selling their Naim's for the DAC then that is interesting but it does seem odd for a sales assistant to give you that info.

RichPenny – as I long-term Naim owner I'm fine with them doing well. It seems to me that they have managed something very unusual in that models have such a long lifespan. How much has the Hicap changed over the years? This must mean fantastic profits as upfront R&D costs have been paid many times over and the RRP on those things is quite incredible for what it is – but that's fine because people pay it. For those that don't know it's a power supply for a preamp or CD player for £1,100.

All my stuff is from Ebay which works out a bit better.

It's a market thing. Arcam think there's enough demand for a player of that cost so fair enough – they've been selling decent non-cheap stuff for long enough. If you are happy with a £99 player then be happy. I have no idea if the Arcam is worth 10x the Sony to me without a demo – need a nice big screen and sounds system to go with it I suppose.

That's a good argument – you wouldn't move yourself so why help move someone else? Maybe offer to pay for him to have removers just to see what he's say; need to be able to back out quickly though if he's cheeky enough to accept….

I am led to believe that Assos don't last so well these days – built for performance not longevity.

Giordana and Lusso are good options IMO.

If something is under say £50 in value, as a rule I wont bother with either.

I think that's a bit harsh – some people could do with the odd tenner. Helps those looking for a cheap build too.
