Thanks for all the advice, think I’ve got it sorted now. Just arguing with the wife over colour

Rode past the other day and there was about 30 bike boxes at the back, half of them empty. They looked busier than ever. I got an exposure light from them a few weeks ago and it took nearly two weeks to arrive. They’ve never been the fastest getting in stuff you want

Just had this reply from MRP

Thanks for reaching out about the fitment of the Better Boost. Sadly DT did a running change on their hubs that made it so not all 240 end caps are compatible. The change seems to have started with their OEM wheels and has transitioned into the rest of the line but we sadly do not have a option for the 28mm flange hubs at this time.

It says 240s on the hub so I just presumed they were 240s hubs but obviously not.

Depends how bad the break is. After being sent home in a sling and told it will heel itself the consultant saw my X-ray and phoned me straight away and recommended surgery due to a few floating bits of bone. Recovery was ok 2 months ish and physio for 3 months. it’s pretty good now but I get really sharp pain if I shot putt throw anything. I wish they’d got a joiner to put the screws in as two are wonky and I can feel them.

I had mine plated in September and still can’t sleep on it and still get pain when exercising it or it gets a bang from the kids or dog. Not enough pain for painkillers though. Like you say it’s hard to pinpoint the pain. You not going to physio?

I’d try these if you’re trying for the first time. A few offers for first timers.

Our working cocker is fed raw and has been since 12 weeks when we got her. We started with Honeys who do frozen complete meals. They are a good, friendly company who will give you advice over the phone wether you’re buying or not. We got the starter pack from them which comes with a good book on raw feeding. They’re not cheap but are probably the best. We use a local company now just because I can pick it up. We throw a raw egg in once a week plus chicken wings or duck neck every so often. You’ll be amazed at the different stuff you can get for them. The hardest thing is storage, with it being frozen, we had to get another freezer in the garage.

As everyone else has said only you will know when the time is right. As for the insensitive bloke, I’d just try and keep my distance. A point on wearing the wedding ring, I can’t see why you’d ever take it off

The pics put a smile on my face. Looks like you both really enjoyed it and the weather played it’s part.

My lad rides a voodoo nzumbi from Halfords 26” wheel so managed to get the forks and wheels upgraded for a few quid as the standard ones were heavy. Think it’s about 9kgs now and he keeps up with me on the ups

Oh forgot about the bike. The seat is knackered but didn’t really look at it due to the pain. In a mates garage at the minute so will check it over later this week

Ive got an unused  jamis dragonslayer frame I’m selling and maybe some 27 plus wheels. Not as slack as most of the above but probably better for the longer days in the saddle you mentioned. Reynolds steel and sliding drop outs, so it can do single speed as well as 27+/29. Let me know if you’re interested

Ask for Cummings or dickens cider. Thatchers vintage is my favourite at the minute

You can get boxes of different size circlips from hardware stores for a couple of quid. Just take yours in to make sure you get a match

Didn’t find it a nice experience myself and went back to glasses apart from when playing football. You do get used to putting them in after a few goes it’s getting them out that’s a pain in the backside. Ask for a free trial before you splash out

Can’t comment on the finance side of things but it’s my local bike shop and I use them for everything. Staff are very knowledgeable and all bike riders. The stock levels have always been accurate as far as I’m concerned. I’ve ordered items that were out of stock and got them within a week.

Bad points- new website is awful and they never seem to have enough staff on the shop floor, if their are a couple of people in looking at bikes it takes a while to get served.

Any decent camping shops near you ? Best thing I did was go to outdoor action in Blackburn, staff where all campers and went through all my wants and needs. Didn’t try and force any certain makes but really did recommend the blowup type and went through the different types.

I was torn between two and then he said “ what car have you got ?” Could only get one of them in the boot because of the pack shape and that only just went in.

Tried wetting without soapy water and it just stuck like shit to a blanket and was hard to position. Put soap in and it was a doddle to position, took a bit longer to stick but well worth the time. Try and do it in the daylight as it’s easier to see any air bubbles and keep the frame inside the day before so it’s at room temperature
