I have a Trek Remedy and at first used the propedal in the on position for ascents and the off position for descents. Lately I’ve used it mainly in the off position. I found technical/rough climbs are better in this position as the lumpy bits knock more speed off when the propedal is on.

Day 10 – the sweats and the shivers subsided. Wheezy chest and a cough left. No riding for a wee while yet.

My revelations were acting strange on Sunday.
I put it down to the chilly conditions and reckon they’ll be fine when the weather improves. Maybe some moisture inside.

Get some tomatoes and scoff them at the first signs.
    Works for me.

Its Nice, well placed for getting places too. e.g. Torridon 1hr away. Dryer than most, only 40% of Glasgow’s rainfall.
Housing is reasonable compared to most of England.
Mostly jobs in Tourism and Retail.

Haven’t heard “Sploonging” for a while, but now the winter is here I’m sure it’ll return.

I Tried putting all the spacers to non drive side. Chainline was perfect, but I wasn’t happy with the lack of threads in that side, so fitted some spacers to the chainring and moved one BB spacer back.

    change the bearings.
    It’s not hard to do.

I’ve stripped two pairs to find they have the 6mm wide bearing. That bearing isn’t standard and I cant find reasonably priced replacements.
7mm wide bearings are easy to find, but no use if the original is 6mm.
Interested if anyone can tell me more.

Farther north, but same about strange weather. Twas quite cloudy when we left the east, then cloudless skies in the west over Torridon.

Have a Mk1 PA here. Was running Vanilla 125s and it worked really well until the stanchions got damaged. Now running 95-130mm Revs dual air with U-turn. Not as smooth, but the versatility of the U-turn makes up for it. Leave at 130mm unless climbing really steep stuff.

To contrast the other rides You've planned, take the gondola and have a go at the red, tis great fun.
The weather forecast is perfect for going up that high this week.

    Its in a remote location..

The mountain has already been fenced…

I guess European Elk and Wildboar may be found roaming in the gloaming now.

Our teenage kids use the neon ones.
They seem quite robust even though they've destroyed a couple.
I see Wiggle sell them now.

Did this in '82 with Outward Bound Aberdovey.
Down the river, along the estuary, through the breakwater then out to sea.

Like AnalogueAndy I had a Raleigh Jeep in the 70s.
Rode on trails made on local coal "bings" similar to the terrain on todays jump parks.
I could manual all day on that bike back then, cant do it now.
I dont remeber doing much more than fixing punctures and replacing spokes, so I reckon it held up pretty well given the abuse. But, I was a lot lighter then, probably only 7 stone.

Maybe you've already tried this – switch it off for a few minutes to reset the magnetic coupling between motor/compressor, then switch back on.

    My Remedy is pretty noisy.
Tracked it down to the front mech.
Took a link out of the chain and it improved a wee bit.
Now when its rattling it doesnt bother me as I know its not the chain slapping the chainstay.

    I find that
"if a cold is in its infancy – I get out and cook it out of my system"
Find a nice techy climb and honk it up in a higher than normal gear. The elevated body temperature seems to kill em off – most times.

Also, eat grapes and tomatoes this gives the immune system plenty of ammunition.

My experience of 719s: had them for several years and they've taken loads of abuse and never needed truing.
I've noticed the spokes aren't tensioned as highly as other wheels I have.

Had both, the ribs healed quickly – 6 weeks or so – painful to take deep breath initially (a week or 2) – but the body's internal system makes you do that every few minutes to keep the lungs clear of fluid.

My Achilles Tendonitis took many months – maybe 18, but I had setback after 9 months – carrying lumber up a steep hill for trailbuilding.

I used to set up the shock to 6mm sag as the manual indicates (IIRC). Now I ignore the sag setting and set it so it feels like I want it to be on that particular day.

Just had the same problem on my PA. Wrecked an on-one QR clamp by constantly trying to overtighten it to get it to grip the seatpost tight enough.
Have put the Ragley on, and it seems to be working really well – for 2 rides so far.
Got it from CRC for about a tenner.
