My youngest was wearing my soft race face charge elbow pads as knee pads, not impact rated but have saved a lot of lost skin on the pump track and skateboarding. Troy lee youth gloves have been really good for our boys too, if you’re close to Forest of Dean the shop at Cannop keeps a good stock of kids gear in

Ours boys have both got the early rider pedals after the oldest got them on his bike, nice and thin and pretty grippy without being too damaging

We have the last generation 4G router from Huawei from three and it’s been great for us, including me WFH with constant teams VC meetings. Its the B315 I think. It can take external antenna

Never had issues like that, and especially surprised to see RM mentioned. Hermès however, they could steal the contents all they like and I’d never know, never deliver anything!
Great customer support from PX though!

I’m a spoon fan, and have on all my bikes, but agree with above it is arse dependent! Have heard good things about specialized ones with their body geometry

As hot stuff said really, markets pretty down, having grown up with my dad being an antique dealer and earning pocket money loading container of the stuff to go around the world, it’s now pretty sad to see that most stuff has little value due to low demand. If you send me a picture I can ask him for an opinion

No plans to cancel. Would Be keen on buying some favorite front covers mounted in frames if you could partner up to supply something like that?

We are supposed to move from one rented flat to another next week, contract signed and notice handed in, any ideas what the options are? Will it be legitimate travel?

We have the 4 bike version and it’s pretty robust but for the roof and locks to line up it needs to be leveled otherwise it has enough flex to cause an issue. I would say timber would be fine as the floors are nice and sturdy, could be supported at the corners only

For sale btw in case that’s what you’re after as we’re moving flats.

What about a rug designed to protect the car for dogs rather than a bike bag? I’ve seen ones that have tied to attach to seat belt point etc

Sounds like my understanding is wrong, defer to Mrs TJ

From my understanding he has a right to heat and hot water, but would expect to make reasonable efforts to contact landlord or agent first which he’s done by the sounds of it.

However, personally, and currently renting in UK, for the sake of waiting until monday I wouldn’t call out an emergency plumber unless I was willing to pick up the bill, as Landlord may be an ar5e and argue it.

On the other hand as a lanlord of our home in USA I would think this entirely reasonable for him to do assuming he has done basic things like checked fuse and tried resetting.

Thanks all, good info to keep me investigating. I had hope with good signal in Hereford town centre we’d get better throughput, but maybe it just need more tweaking

    Tiboy

Thanks, will look into router and external antenna combos. But as we’re in town I’m suspecting it might be cell congestion that’s our limiting factor rather than signal, is there any way to lookup loading on a tower?

Interest d to know what you felt made the biggest difference, the new router or the antenna? We have the three huawei one and it’s super patchy, but adding an external antenna didn’t make much difference. We’re in a rented place so are a bit limited on options

Just wanted to thanks those who’ve shared their experiences on this thread. I honestly struggle to understand how someone can get to the point of suicide, but reading this has helped me understand a little more and will make me more aware of friends and colleagues in future. Scares me to think how often I fail to take the time to really listen to how someone is doing, must do better!

Wow, some amazing misinformation in this thread, no doubt from people who read an article in the paper once…

we moved 3 years ago to western Massachusetts with our 4 and 1 year old boys, haven’t looked back but lots of lessons learned. Would be happy to discuss more by email if be can be of help to you making a decision, it’s in my profile

How about a e46 3 series? not huge inside, but very well put together.

No advertising mine yet, but have researched prices and for your budget you could get a 2001/2 325 or 330 petrol estate which will do above 30mpg ona run and are very reliable with minimal maintenance.

Depends what youa re after really, BW will be a nice play to spend time, compared to our 2006 laguna, which I agree with above posts are hateful pieces of plastic rubbish, please dont be tempted by their prices, they are that low for a reason!

Got a 2001 manual 330i touring, great car, as other have said not huge, but enough for us with two kids. over about 25k we have averaged 33.4mpg on the computer, I reckon about 31 in real terms, but my wife drives it mostly…

is a lovely engine, much prefer a big engine to the newer turbo charged engines, that’s personal taste though.

As mentioend they do have a tendancy to eat suspension components, but nowadays parts arent too expensive, the mehle parts are good value and much more robust than original or cheap pattern parts. over the 3 years we’ve had it I’ve done:
    – front wishbones and lollipop bushes
    – water pump
    – variocam seals
    – rocker cover seal
    – rear subframe bushes all round

other than that jsut servicing, and a spare set of winter wheels, as they are truly aweful in snow/ice, but very good on winter tyres.

Ours isn’t a sport model otherwise i’d offer it you it as we might be emigrating soon.

mrs tiboy had freeriders and loved them for riding flats, but they are a bit of a spnge in winter, so take ages to dry, but she was always comfortable in sealskins :)

can’t help with specifics, but insurance was what was recommended by our solicitor when we were looking at buying a property which had a right of way through the rear garden for the next door garden, except previous owner had built an extension over the marked ROW.. 8O

I guess your danger is that without ROW you have no guaranteed access to the garage which could be a pain if owner decides to change things about?

Had an Alfa GT before we had kids, was big enough in the back as the seats go down flat, used to get two MTBs in bags along with enough kit for a week in scotland. is a nice place to be, and looks the business :)

However, reliability isn’t fabulous, be prepared to dedicate a bit of TLC, well worth it though.

Just for reference, I drive our e46 330i 20 miles a day for my commute, mixed country rodas, and over a few thousand miles am averaging 32.4mpg, so wouldn’t rule out a petrol at your mileage, and you will get more car for your money compared to the 330d which in my opinion are overpriced considering real world mpg is about 42 on a good day from what I have read.
I was considering buyong a mates 335d, until he told me he was gettign 37mpg average, and then t really didn’t seem owrth it!
