I had a 2013 Tiguan 2.0 TDI (Euro 5). I bought it 2 years ago with 60k miles. Car was great to drive with full service history and had clearly been looked after. I used it for my daily 25 mile motorway commute until I retired in May this year. Since then it was used very little with just some long holiday trips. In August the eml came on intermittently and then stayed on. The faultccode was relating to the throttle body position sensor. I removed the throttle body and found it was about 50% blocked with carbon deposits! (The throttle body is approx 50mm diameter). Further investigation showed that the inlet manifold was similarly choked. I can only think that this must have been due to too many short journeys in the car’s earlier life. Removing the carbon deposits cleared the fault but left me wondering what other surprises were around the corner.. I have since changed to petrol which now suits my needs better.

Thanks all for your advice, I will ask around to see if anyone has a Mac that they could let me connect the drive to. I will report back later…

We walked it in June south to north. It’s a great route although the last day is a little bit monotonous. You are out of the hills by then and there are some long stretches of paved cycle path on the run into Carlisle. I would recommend it though as an overall experience.

He’s still 14, but moved up a category because he’s 15 this year. Quite a bit smaller than a lot of the 16 year olds….

I retire at the end of May after 46 years continuous employment, albeit with a number of different employers. I will be 62 which is the sweet spot for my DB pension – I will only lose the additional benefits which would have been accrued if I had continued to work until 65.

I have been with my current employer for 33 years and when I joined I made the fortuitous decision to transfer in the various pensions from my previous employers in exchange for a fixed percentage of my final salary.

I can’t wait, bring it on.

I have an Ortleib Pac-Man Pro – I’ve had 3-4 years solid commuting use out of it so far. It is totally waterproof and the ideal size for a laptop and shirt/underwear/lunch etc. It is close fitting but I do not find it too sweaty.

I have had issues too, ordered a pivot kit for transition bandit and eventually received one pivot only. Have tried to query it with no response. 3 weeks and counting.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be the “smart charging” feature was being activated if I switched the charger off before unplugging the cable from the light. Disconnecting the cable from the light before switching the charger off solved it. Alternatively switch the light on and off after charging clears it.

I’ve always found the Park Tools YouTube video to be a good guide.
As others have said, if the chain length was correct for a 32T then it will probably be okay with a 30T.
