Surely its still an excellent opportunity for someone to take on?

There’s no customers. Chicken and egg maybe but it’s dead!

Strain dependency; Same as a rubber. The stiffness depends on the rate of loading.

Didn’t know that gases do this…

A rubber fist is much easier to explain away than a rounders bat. just make sure you get all the lube off, otherwise it’s hard to get a good grip on it.

eastern Europeans dressed in jeans and hoodies wanted directions back to the car park.

Guy I worked with micromanaged his solicitor. Called nearly every day. Asked what’s happening, what’s next &how long will that take. Then would call back has it happened etc etc. I’m sure he made himself a nuisance; I’m sure he got sorted quickly…

Amsterdam, London, Paris, New York. In that order.

Cyclists have as much collective responsibility as men: therefore Weinstein is your fault.

one in southampton was supposed to have advanced bike only lights – this got taken out of the plan at some point.

In addition there is no room to make the (first) manoeuvre; which is effectively a u-turn on top of a traffic island. i tried it for the first week – but found it awkward and time consuming. it is an improvement on the terribly placed roundabout that was the previous junction.

i use it most days. i move from the cycle lane to the right hand lane.

I guess if I really muck up a week, I can just repeat it before moving on.

you can but remember to have your rest/ consolidation week every so often.

on a typical indoor track stringing racing lines together helps – it’s not a line per corner but a line for the track. I struggle with this.

told me it was fun – but no money in it for the blokes.

I guess the term comes from the US where they have massive networks of fire road trails for hundreds of kms at a time. We don’t really have that here so the name ‘gravel bike’ is a bit silly.

There are 100s of miles of byways/ bridleways that are perfect gravel bike territory hants/ wilts/ dorset.

it all seems like conjecture. there is no evidence of pigeons being captured for food.

The PCSO says there is but there is not. There is a witness to pigeons being captured. Official report even states that explicitly.

“It is believed that street drinkers have been using bird seed to help them catch pigeons and put them in a rucksack. We can’t even begin to speculate on their motives.”

why do so many blokes think that scruffy, scuffed shoes are acceptable in a ‘professional’ environment. Don’t ask what I mean by ‘professional’ environment – you know what I mean. You’re at work ffs representing your employer

Come to the university. It’s not unusual for professors to turn up in skate shoes/ shorts/ flipflops.

Thing is it’s worse when they put on a suit!

    don’t over think it.

if you like it; fit wise it’s worth checking bar, stem, & crank sizes.

Back in the day of going out, you always wanted your trousers a bit hunched up at the bottom, heaven forbid anyone should see your socks or legs!

when i was at school having ‘ankle swingers’ was about akin to fancying your sister; probably worse.

would be hard to prove a “slap” on the ass is sexual.

would you do it to a child/ your MIL?

    it’s sexual.

Pleased to hear that the police are taking it seriously. (best to chase up in a week or so and double check).

spec trigger is an excellent choice – if it suits great fro gravel and dry but it’ll be awful on wet mud/ grass. (at least on the front)

small block 8 never seems asd fast as you’d expect.

I’d add halo twin rail to the list – never ridden one but keen to.

CX tyres on a 29er didn’t work for me. Seemed draggy on road and slow off road. Not as efficient as a CX bike or a MTB. Worst of both.

Not for me. I’ll stick to one or the other.

Have you tried a light 2″ slick? Slicks at mtb pressures work surprisingly well off road.

    Decent meal out.

    A giant tandoori munchy box.

By my calculations, £100 would buy you one 12 and a half feet in diameter.

QS should be able to negotiate a round £13.

assuming i get out of here in daylight should i

a: go my normal route and blast along with a tail wind.
b: go and explore an interesting route that i nicked off someones strava

    STW decides.

It would make sense to do this in June or July

I started this job on the 2nd january, started riding on the 3rd. Was the best year for cycle commuting as it got warmer and lighter for the entire winter. It was crazy wet too – i remember several times arriving and emtying my shoes down the toilet bowl!

It is barking mad that in 2017 we still use traditional address systems without any reference to GPS.

postcodes are one of the best systems i’ve ever sued. much more precise than US/ French/ german systems.
