May cost a bit more than £100, as will probably take a couple of visits, one to tile, and one to grout. Unless your are completely useless at DIY, and there are no awkward shapes to go around, I’d say give it a go yourself. There is always something satisfying about having done it yourself.

I’ve got 2 border terriers, and 2 young kids. One dog, and both kids are terrors, but other dog is soft as anything. Sleeps most of the time, won’t leave the house if it’s raining, and keeps the unwanted wildlife out of the garden.

The other dog has bitten me, mrs TG, and the kids, and really not sure why we still have him.

The companies offering to do it are sharks. I used to work for a bank, and whilst I did have loans, never needed the ppi, however the regular phone calls I get, some of which I wind up for a while, if I’m not to busy, they tell me that it doesn’t matter that I never had it, they will get some back anyway ??? Bunch of cons, probably after up front fees. I just hang up on them now.

I was after the same in a 29, and told they don’t do them. Possible the one you have seen was a special one off.

Bought my dad (70 yrs +) the bi plane, he loved it. Mrs TG a fan of architecture, so the architecture range a regular fail safe for birthdays and Christmas. Go on, treat yourself, if you haven’t already.

I used them last month for some rim decals, also in custom colours. They were quick to respond, although they didn’t send a proof before producing them. Fortunately, they were fine, and arrived in about 7 days.

Try http://www.rockguardz.com. They do a couple of options.

How about the Isle of Man. Lots of great singletrack, and a few people offering guided rides now, to get the best out of it.

Also depends on how pipe work fixed, if wet ufh. If it’s in a cement based screed, this should be sufficient to hold down. If it’s clipped in to foil sheets, maybe not. Depending on levels, if you have sufficient, the screed finish is much better dissipation of heat. You will be able to get fixings to hold insulation down, and don’t forget to tape up any joints.

After 20 years of banking ( no comments thanks, had them all) I could see the way things were heading, with pressure to become insurance salesman, and no authority to lend anyone anything, without referral to so called lending experts, I took a sabbatical for a year and project managed the building of my new home, then retrained as an accountant. 4 years of that, then not so much of a mid life crisis, but conscious decision, started family, and I look after my 2 boys, now 2 and 3 yrs old. Do a bit off part time accountancy at home, also project managing new house for someone. Hope to develop both when boys at school, and get a bit more time out on the bike. Loving it 🙂

I’m 47 this year, and new carbine on the way. Despite its cost, I’m fairly sure it will be replaced with something new in a couple of years time, as will that one. If you get lots of enjoyment out of bikes, and cost isn’t a big deal, then keep them coming.

I looked at them, but turns out they don’t do free hub for 11 spd. Gone for industry 9 instead. Also look at carbon TI, but long delivery times.

Great bike, I was going to go for one, but decided on an intense carbine instead. Should be here next week, and can’t wait. How do you find the wheels ? I’ve gone for them also.

Chocs may have worked last year, but she’s given up the good stuff for lent.

The worst that could happen !! Hmmm, she removes all the money from our bank account, so I can’t pay for my new bike that’s due next week.

Grass, about an acre of it. Bit less this year, as building a shed for the mower. Oh, and weeds. The mrs’s has some veggies, and trying to get the kids to grow some, but they just like digging in dirt.

Unfortunately, as the weather gets better, I have to commit every other Sunday to garden duties, so less time for riding.

I did something similar. Had a Zesty 914 when they first came out with EI, and as a bit of a project I built a 29hardtail. I found it much more comfortable to ride, and found myself wanting to take it out, rather than the zesty. When I did take the zesty, it was such a drag on hills, and hard work on the going, I decided to bite the bullet, and sell it.

I am now an official 29er, having bought a better carbon hard tail, had a spesh epic over the winter, but just sold it, and have a carbine 29 on the way.

Had a spin on a friends new 26er the other week, and it felt like a bmx bike !!

Many thanks for a truly independent review. Great to see you loved the carbine 29, I ordered one last week, and can’t wait to get it.

To clarify, I am just going to sell on the scott, just taking it in px, as he doesn’t want to be stuck with it. I’m selling the epic to get a Santa Cruz tallboy LT

Yes, triton cycles. (Triton cycles.co.uk). I got a set to put xx1 shifter on to XTR levers, but they do other way also. Not cheap though, for a tiny piece of alloy.

Read an amusing article where a guy feared that if he died, his wife would sell his bikes for what he had told her they were worth !!!

Just gone 1×11 after trying it on a friends bike, and best move ever made. Didn’t think I would be fit enough to run x1 on front, but find it great. Had 1×10 to start, with 11-36 on the back, and to be honest, there was very little I could not manage, as opposed to the 42 on the back now.

I knocked an hour off my time in this years Isle of Man end 2 end on a 29er. I know I’m a bit fitter, the course was slightly shorter, and it was not as windy, but still went from 5 hr 15 on a zesty, to 4 15 on a hardtail stumpy 29er.

I have a medium 2013 Zesty 914, which I am thinking of selling, as not getting the use out of it, as since building up a 29 er hardtail, am finding this more suited to my local trails.

Only got it in early March, and done less than 500 miles. Also have a spare pair of 2013 crossmax wheels with winter tyres on. Only changes from standard are carbon riser bars, and slightly longer stem at 110mm. I had a 2010 714 before this, and never had any issues with cracks. (May be I just don’t ride hard enough !!) Its a stunning looking bike, and flies downhill like nothing I have ridden before.

    e-mail in profile if interested.

    Cheers
