Hmm, those Superstar’s do look nice and wide and slim, and even cheaper than I’ve seen the Sunline’s for. Might have to investigate further.

Nobody any experience with the Sunline V1’s on here? Bit of a mention for the Easton’s but nothing on the V1’s?

Obviously I don’t expect anyone to tell me about the Spank’s since they’re not out but, is nobody else thinking of trying a pair when they are?

Flatboys are bomb proof, however the weigh is optimistic at best. I since swapped to Superstar/Nuke Proof etc etc and they have just as much grip, on a slightly bigger platform at nearly half the weight

So is the platform on the Flatboys not so large? Some of the reviews I’ve read suggest it’s quite a bit bigger than the V12’s, is that not the case? Why can’t manufacturers state platform size as well as weight??

I like the look of the Superstar’s but there seem to be a few reports of pins getting lost and the pedal bodies being easily damaged. Never had such problems with the V12’s so didn’t want to take a backwards step.

Feel free to add me. Playing a bit of PES2011 lately but also been playing KZ3 a fair bit, though not online yet as I’m rubbish and don’t want the humiliation of being smashed by a load of pre-pubescents!

Very, very much can’t wait for Portal 2, pre ordered it weeks ago!!

Guess I got lucky with the Van’s judging by your experiences! I do like to do my own servicing where possible and a lower lube looks quite simple on bike radars step by step so I think i’ll give it a go. If that doesn’t do it then I’m probably just going to have to bite the proverbial bullet and get them serviced properly.

£45 seems ok actually, certainly compared to TFT’s £89 plus postage. For some reason it never crossed my mind that my LBS could service them! Time to check out All Terrain’s service pricing I reckon.

    Cheers guys!

Not wrong about fork prices mr b! I had Fox Vanillas on my last bike which were amazing for four years, again without any servicing, until I sold the bike. I gather they are still going strong (a friend bought the bike) so I have been taking the ‘service every 3 minutes’ advice from the manual with a pinch of salt. Seems with the Rev’s I should’ve taken more heed!

beanleripper, the noise began after I ramped the rebound up for a slower return rate but has continued no matter how much is dialled in now.

Hard to tell which side the sound’s coming from, only noticed it while riding. Air rev’s though, yes. They’ve been great until maybe the last month or so… Maybe ‘wheezing’ is a better description of the noise?

The bike shop attached to the side of the dog and partridge pub in Tosside (near Gisburn Forest) rent out bikes I think and they definitely had a couple of Ragley’s in, the blue pig being one of them.

Not sure how close that is to you though?

looks like this program might do out for you…

    Didn’t check cost though

I’ve got a feeling that for anything more complicated than you’re doing you might need civil, rather than just autocad. Only time I ever did it was outputting directly from a total station to create a spreadsheet which was then imported in to civil 3d.

Would’ve thought a longer stem would just stretch you out making the arse up more pronounced?? Steering would certainly be more stable though, less twitchy perhaps, which might mean you can get away with running the stem higher, or a riser stem to get the front end up higher.

2.25 Schwalbe. Either racing ralph or nobby nic depending on season.

Oddly enough though, the Schwalbes in 2.25 are about the same size as the 2.5 Maxxis minion i’m running on the front at the moment.

    So it’s either a big 2.25 or a small 2.5 i guess??

I would still go for the same one I did go for 18 months ago, the Maverick Durance. loddrik is on the money!

I’ve got the Giant one myself and can’t fault it. You can spend a lot more but seems a bit pointless to me

If you’ve never got of the saddle and felt a sudden unusual sense of pressure being released from the soft bit between your c0*k and @$$ then you probably don’t need a pressure relieving cut out!

I did, and now use a selle italia with a cut out and am MUCH more comfortable.

I spoke to a guy in the sales floor yesterday as no one was answering phones because they’d sent me a wheel with the wrong hub. apparently they are relocating stock to a new warehouse which is why you might not have received any response or your wheels yet?

The only thing you need to get right with cables is matching electrical properties to the item delivering the current. For that reason, I thoroughly recommend you use naims relatively inexpensive naca5 cable to match your nait.

Hmm, the models they have state 15mm so maybe not? Fulcrum’s website seems to suggest that they support QR or 15mm. No mention of 20mm though.

    How about these? Fulcrum

Or these at the lower end of the budget? More Fulcrum!

I just ordered these to beef the bike up, probably not most peoples bag!

There is no limitation, the word is metreage!!!

Not to be mistaken with meterage which refers to the system of payment…

Only had a SS one here but it’s still going strong after 12 months with zero maintenance where as the SLX it replaced died after about 2 months.

Hi, I don’t know if you’ve already had this demo but a few here have touched upon the right way to choose demo tunes: Listen to your favourite cd’s, the music you will listen to when you get it home.

Sounds obvious but what’s the point in buying a hifi system because it sounds great with, I dunno, Kraftwerk if you only listen to, say, Slipknot?!!

I have a Rega Saturn feeding a Naim Nait 5i and I think it sounds great with everything, although the speakers (Jamo Concert 8’s) make the system IMHO. Naim stuff is good but it’s not the only brand out there!

    Good luck!

One of these came on my SLX crankset but lasted less than 2 months.

Replaced with one of these (stainless steel version not ceramic) and haven’t had a single issue in well over a year.

Was very surprised that the SLX bb gave out so soon as my past experience with Shimano has been great. Can’t fault the Hope though so far and it cost me less than a new SLX replacement off fleabay!

Racing Ralph is very fast rolling on the road and I find it has great traction on the back of the full sus. Just whack the pressure up to 50psi from 35psi when commuting.

I wouldn’t put one on the front for off roading though!

Do you suffer from acid reflux at all? I have a hiatus hernia and the acid reflux is unbearable, doesn't seem to matter what I eat, how much, when etc etc. I had to have one of those cameras shoved down my throat (at least it was just the throat!) and after they had examined the results they put me on acid inhibiting tablets. Apparently I could well be taking them until they put me in a box as the operation can have numerous complications, but they certainly stop the heartburn!

I have been told in the past (before I was prescribed the tablets) to avoid spicy foods/caffeinated drinks/fatty foods/alcoholic drinks/eating at irregular times and so on. Maybe some of that will help? Personally, if I had to avoid all of that I think i'd rather be in the box now!

I've got a set of Rev's and they are a terrific fork; pretty light and fairly plush for air sprung. Definitely not as plush as the Fox Vanilla 130 I had on the last bike but quite a lot lighter (Last bike was hardtail and new one is full sus so wanted to shave weight somewhere). Vanilla is a fantastic fork for both performance and value IME.
