I thought this was all a bit odd. Lovely elderly chap raises some money for charity and sadly passes away shortly afterwards. As sad as that is, does it really deserve all this nauseating news coverage ?
Oh BTW, he was Army, not a fighter pilot.

I’ve used a mobile company called Dentmaster a few times, they’re nationwide I think.
They were excellent and very reasonably priced.

The Nespresso machines all operate at different hot water pressures, go for the one with the highest that you can find.

Four years down the tracks and I still can’t believe the British public can be so f***in’ stupid. Are we really surrounded by idiots ? It seems so.
    How totally and utterly depressing.

get a serious lock for the bike then no need to worry about an alarm

Sure, and I have one, but I’d like a little more visibility. Some scrotes knicked all the wheels off a company Golf GTi in the car park one night last year and certainly weren’t in a rush or particularly worried about being seen.

    Hi Coconut
Could I be added to the 2021 Chub Club please ?
The last emailed link I have on the subject (August) takes me to the 2020 version still.

I promise to not be an absolute useless waste of space again this year !

    Many cheers

I can see pliers might be handy but I can’t think of a single occasion when they would’ve been essential

They’ve saved me a couple of times, getting the little knurled ring off a tubeless valve so you can install a tube

Who is that, out of interest ?

I don’t imagine the cabin is heated, must be bloomin cold.

No, no heating, but it stays low so not usually a problem. Lots of clothes otherwise.

Must check out the legality of landing one in Portland Harbour.

Don’t think it would be allowed, plus they won’t land it on salt water unless the charterer is prepared to finance cleaning it afterwards

Anyone know exactly where at Tatenhill it’s going? There’s a small airfield and a few lakes round there

It’ll be the airfield. Water landings verboten in England these days.

I only realised today the wing floats fold up! Now I feel stupid but that is fantastic design.

Electrically powered, with a hand-crank option if that fails. Which is a fun way of spending an hour. NOT !

Duxford is closed today, so she’s going into Tatenhill near Burton Upon Trent for a nightstop before continuing on to DX tomorrow. In case anyone’s in the vicinity of Tatenhill …..

For what it’s worth, I have arthritis in my thumb. It’s been niggling away for a few years and getting slowly worse. I went to the GP who suggested a cortisone injection which they finally did about a month ago. It’s worked wonders and it feels 90% better.
It took ages to take it done because they had to do it under ultrasound so that they could get the needle in between the narrow joint, plus being prescribed a course of physio before they would do the injection.
I was on the verge of giving up when my appointment was cancelled during lockdown, but I’m so glad I persevered now, even though it might not last for ever.
    Hope you get some relief.
    Knees next ……

    Catalina is not a bomber

Yes it is, that’s what the ‘B’ in PBY5 stands for. It bombed with bombs, depth charges and rockets.

In case it’s useful to anyone, I just spoke to someone at PedalCover and they told me that any bike worth over £3000 kept in an outbuilding (not a garage) needs to be locked. That applies to the value when new, not the depreciated value if the bike is over 5 years old.

For a ride as short as 8 miles it won’t make any difference either way. The concept is that is trains the body to use stored reserves but again at only 8 miles it is too short for it to really come into play.

What sort of distance would it be required to do before it DID make a difference, do you think ?

    John Bercow.
When he was my MP I couldn’t stand the bloke as there was never an alternative come election time.
The way he handled all the **** in the HoC has led to a new-found respect and, dare I say it, growth-on.
