It seems like a very long time since I read such a positive review about a full susser costing ā€œonlyā€ Ā£2 200. Good on Halfords and Boardman with this one.

Thanks tomhoward, I didnā€™t realise that the shockwiz could be hired, Iā€™ll look in to this.

I suspect the manufacturers recommended pressures are too ā€œstiffā€ and the rebound might be too fast but it would be good to get some empirical evidence.

Yes, very good! Walls are a bit thin though so not the natural choice if where you ride is rocky but a really good tyre IMO.

Just a case of turning up and having a go then? Nothing, other than pride and dignity of course, to lose really!

@groundskeeperwilly Have you received any word from who you booked with?
Weā€™re going with MTB Beds, we get a regular e-mail update but no firm news as you might expect really.

11 speed seems to be the best balance of value for money and performance I think. 12 spd prohibitively expensive I think.

thegeneralist, sorry for confusion, I may be looking for a company that allows a solo or 2/3 person booking. The companies that Iā€™ve contacted so far are minimum group size of 5 people.

sharkattack let me know if you find anything useful, the MTB Beds recommendation looks like it might be a viable option.

Michel Thomas, if you can get past the sound of his poorly fitted dentures. ā€œJe vais, Iā€™m on my wayā€.

Ditto lovewookie really, I had the 29er retro looking version with whitewall tyres. It looked fantastic but it was a really heavy build and felt sluggish to ride, despite that though it gained me some PBā€™s on Strava segments which was really surprising. It must have been 38 pounds plus. I have a Santa Cruz Chameleon now which is much better for me personally.
