I suspect the manufacturers recommended pressures are too “stiff” and the rebound might be too fast but it would be good to get some empirical evidence.

Yes, very good! Walls are a bit thin though so not the natural choice if where you ride is rocky but a really good tyre IMO.

We’re going with MTB Beds, we get a regular e-mail update but no firm news as you might expect really.

11 speed seems to be the best balance of value for money and performance I think. 12 spd prohibitively expensive I think.

Claife Heights starts from Bowness and is a cracking ride, google “classic lakes mtb rides“and there are details and gpx.

thegeneralist, sorry for confusion, I may be looking for a company that allows a solo or 2/3 person booking. The companies that I’ve contacted so far are minimum group size of 5 people.

Ditto lovewookie really, I had the 29er retro looking version with whitewall tyres. It looked fantastic but it was a really heavy build and felt sluggish to ride, despite that though it gained me some PB’s on Strava segments which was really surprising. It must have been 38 pounds plus. I have a Santa Cruz Chameleon now which is much better for me personally.
