Drop offs are my only real concern with flats. I like that stuck to the bike feeling you get with spuds but I suppose that's just practice and curling the toes with the flats.

Always thinking the same. I get on well with spd's, even on DH runs. I use the caged dx spd's with sixsixone skate type spd shoes when its dry or abroad but also have 5 10's and v12's. Cant help thinking messing about rides, would I have more fun with my flats on but when I've got my flats on, I'll come to a techie climb and wish I was clipped in. It's all a compromise I guess

Why the hatred for the wotan. Just measured the depth and its actually only 5mm so should be ok yes.

Or maybe a stem with a lower stack height. The thomson is 40mm. what about one of these. Not in pink though. Looks a stronger than a split clamp design.

IMO it's as ugly as hell but a nice bike to keep hold of and it certainly will draw attention. I just hope young kids on there santa cruz's don't point and laugh at the old guy on his contraption.

Magura wotans. Non removable steerer. Might just get a zero stack headset an fit either top or bottom. Top I think as not to change geometry.

CK head set. Think I may have to fit a low stack top or bottom.

Maybe a little below the center of the top bolt or just in line with the center.

well I found him a brand new marin on ebay. 2010 model eldridge. rrp is £999. £600. Hes well chuffed. Hes grown a beard and is on the hunt for some spd sandles.

And you definately cant get the old olive off by cutting away at the left over hose and open it back up enough with a very small socket to get it back over the cut end of the hose. Done this many times with avids when i have ran out of olives.

Its a bit of a late one for me mark by the time i get back if I come over in the week but weekend rides are all ways doable Free this sunday ? Possibly taking a newbie mate out for his first ride so the delightfull stench of the wyre bog may be just enough entice the fool.

There was quite a bit of time wasted waiting at the bottom of that LITTLE drop for you to decide to walk down it. 😀

Carrier's Regulations

* The pedals must be flush against the frame or removed

Passengers travelling with bicycles are recommended to check-in 2 hours prior to departure. Bicycles are subject to the sports equipment fee and exempt from any excess baggage charges relating to the weight of the bicycle.

Can't be arsed to read all that but there is no weight limit on a bicycle when paid for as sports equipment with easy jet. went last year and going this year with them too.
