Currently building one, but its going to cost about £400, its 6ftx5ft, and adults can stand up in it, actually its a bit like a garden shed, although raised off the ground, and its integrated into the swings.
I have the 8ft version of Stoners slide for sale for £30, needs collected from Edinburgh though.

I have had a couple, they are great fun Indoors with a high ceiling, outside a little gust of wind will blow them away, they break easily when crashed.

I bought an Alpkit Gamma Head Torch for running, and I find it totally inadequate, its great for camping and general torch duties, but I have to use an XML torch to actually see where I am going.

On my horizontal Scandal, I have the rear wheel slid as far forward in the drop outs as it will go, the tyres only 5-10mm from the seat tube, but I dont run a front mech so its not a problem.

I have Hunters and some John Norris neoprene lined wellies, the Hunters are a far better fit and are good for walking in. John Norris often have factory seconds at half price or less.
Never seen a chav wearing wellies!

Sharkbait – I still have my TVR Vixen S2, which I bought 10 years ago, doesn’t get used as much as it should. Going to sell my track car so I have more time and money to spend on the Vixen

About £5k, 10k in my car and 20k in the wifes car, probably spend about another £500 on fuel doing trackdays.

I have a vague recollection of someone selling bespoke cassettes that went up to 39T, which worked fine with Old Skool Rear Mechs.

    EDIT: Ebay and action tec

It was a 12-36 but I might have put an 11t on, I am running 1×9 with a 32T front, chain is short to keep it tight, never had any issues in the last 18 months.

Its not just your top speed, but the acceleration and braking that will determine the speed rating of the tyre, I would check what is recommended for your car, you also need to match the Tyre Load rating.

Using an xtr m952 rear derailleur (long cage) with an 11-36 and it works fine, shame the cassette weighs about a pound.

I got one of the Cree t6 XML torched off of Ebay to replace a P7 torch, its significantly brighter and smaller too.

I once dropped a cannon on my shins during a drunken weight lifting competition, and split me head on a wall on the way down, not the most pleasant year of my life learning to walk without a limp or pain.

Hi Trout, I sent you an e-mail regarding purchasing an H6FLEX driver for one of your Twin XML DIY kits that stopped working, did you get it, or was it lost in cyberspace?

Just realised how cheap the insulation currently is at B&Q, so plan to add some more insulation to my attic.
I noticed that there was no insulation under the cold water tank in the attic, should I insulate this area? The tank has a jacket, and is lived in all year round, would I run the risk of the tank freezing?

The Pentlands were in pretty bad shape last night, lots of thick claggy mud, the climb up Eastside was in the worst state I have seen.
Might have dried out a bit by the weekend, and maybe someone can recommend a dryish route.

I posted this on a seperate thread, as wasn’t sure if this one was still alive.

My DIY XML light which uses a TaskLed H6Flex driver with 2 XML LEDs in series stopped working at the weekend.
I went to turn it on and it flashed once, and now doesn’t switch on, I have checked there is power getting to the board, but apart from that I am not sure how I can test it.
Just checked the TaskLed website and they won’t have any H6Flex drivers until mid November, are there any other drivers I could use, its a 14.8V smudge battery pack.

    Thanks Doug

I got back into it again this year, for my kids of course, but i have got hooked again.
Bought an Ansmann Royal Flash, and it was super slow, so bought a XE Run Brushless setup, which made a massive difference, however the biggest benefit was fitting LIPO batteries, now it properly shifts.
Just bought a Hobao Hyper ST, which I am converting to brushless, and plan to run on 6S LIPOs.

spen1 – have you been told its 3 weeks for every year, we were told it was still in consultation, although its been 3 weeks per year for the last 3 rounds of redundancies at our place.

I was at B&Q this morning at 7.00am (sad I know), but Decathlon looked like it was knocking 2 stores into one, JJB and the one next to Mothercare.

I have a pair for sale if you are interested.
They are a size large, but are pretty tight on me (34″ waist, usually a Large in Endura), probably more like a medium, they have never been worn, although the wife has washed them. £10 posted

I vowed never to go on an all inclusive, but since the kids came along it was an easy (and cheaper) option.
I have been on 3 over the last couple of winters, they have always been 4/5 star so the quality has always been good.
Only problem is you eat and drink far to much, and by the 4th day it gets boring.

I will find out at 10.00am also, its been the 4th round of redundancies for me in as many years, been lucky so far…

John Norris gets stocks of slight second quality Gum Boots, and they are normally half rrp or less.

I have a pair of MXZ300 that I have been using for the past 5/6 years, so not the exact same boot.
I dont notice the extra weight, they are not waterproof and eventually end up soaked, but your feet will stay warm, the leather upper came apart from the moulded heel cup, which I had to glue and sew back together.
They are better than the Shimano waterproof boots, and loads better than overshoes, I got mine for about £80 in the sale, wouldn’t fancy spending close to £200 for the MXZ302.

The Red at GT is fine Singlespeed and Rigid, the Black is a bit more challenging (the up not the down), never attempted Innerleithen without gears or suspension

I could only ever find cheap rubbish for my kids when they were that age, I did get a couple of half decent pads Elbow/Knees/Wrists from Lidl, the knees were too big, so they used the elbows on their knees.
