Mine was fine with a 27.2mm, however I was using a bolt up clamp rather than a QR.

I had to make a shim out of a bit of 5mm aluminium, as mine was missing when I bought it.
You could maybe use an old Disc Brake adapter as a shim, but it might be too thick.

They can’t be to bad they have sold 1790 of them.
I have the wall mount version and its great for the money, especially as it has 2 wall mounts, one for the inside of the shed and one for the outside.

Just upgraded my kids to a Carrera Blast 24 and a Carrera Luna 24, bought for £80 and £75 from Gumtree, they are great bikes for the money.

Oil every time, as once its been stained, it needs to be restained on an annual basis, I know I learnt the hard way.

How I believe car brakes work, and I am sure bike brakes are the same, is that when you press the pedal the piston doesn’t move in the seal, but the seal deforms slightly, when the pedal is released the piston is pulled back by the seal. If the pads are worn then the piston will move in slightly against the seal to take up the slack.

    Although this contradicts me.

    And this agrees with me.

I find I have to keep ‘resetting’ the pads on my Juicy 7s, which is I assume is because of pad wear.

I sold mine about 3 years ago to someone on this site, totally loved it and I said it was my bike for life, but then I found 29ers :-(

I am 6ft and ride 2 (not at the same time) 18″ Scandal 29ers, i did try a 19.5″ but found it slightly too big.

    26″ work fine.

    And don’t forget the 1984 Cannondale SM-500

I would go 24″, my almost 8 year old has outgrown her 20″ Ridgeback, worth looking at the Carrera Luna, I picked up a mint one for £75.

I don’t think you can coast from Glenshee to Braemar, as there is an uphill section about 1-2 miles from Braemar.

Can also recommend The Tower in Penicuik, wasn’t that impressed with the Anstruther chippy though.

My On-One Tinbred was a frame for life, until I discovered 29ers…

I have invested in a 15″ Bow Saw that is going to accompany me when out in the woods around midlothian, its not going to get through a big trunk but will be fine for branches etc.

I have a Gaggia Classic, an Aeropress, and a stove top, the Gaggia is brilliant, but the Aeropress is a close second (no crema, and uses a lot of coffee) especially at 1/10 the price. That is a good deal on the titanium though.

38 Single 11-34T, I dont race its just for fun.

Never had any issues with different cassette sizes, always used a long cage mech.
The advantage of an 11-34 over an 11-32 is an easier gear, I use an 11-36 with a 32T and bash up front.

Only critisism I have of the Scoot, is that there is nothing to stop the handlebars spinning round, and the nuts for the back wheel stick out to far which used to catch juniors feet when he was going full team.
We also had a Likeabike at teh same time, which I am comparing it against.

I rode the Red at Innerleithen on tuesday night, there was a dusting of snow at the top, there was also no diversion, although there was a notice stating a diversion between markers 26 and 34, it was extremely muddy on the fireroads, but the singletrack was in good shape.

    I am 6ft with a 58cm frame, could probably got away with a 56cm.
I have the carbon forks with BB5 disc brakes, its great fun and regularly gets used when I got to GT or up the Pentlands.
I had Lyras on another bike, and they didn’t have as much power as the BB5s and also felt really spongy.
My only criticism is the lack of space for the rear disc, I have an XT hub with an XTR 140mm centrelock disc, and there is about 1mm clearance between the edge of the disc and the chainstay. Maybe its my hub/disc combination.

I had an HTC Desire HD, it was a great phone until I washed it with my cycling gear.
I then bought a Defy +, as its waterproof, it runs Android 2.3.4, the Motoblur interface is not as nice as the HTC Sense, the camera is really poor, and depite being IP67, there is a large amount of dust under the gorilla glass, I keep meaning to speak to Motorola about this.
Whenever I use my wifes HTC Incredible S, the Motorola just feels 2nd rate.

Are the threads totally stripped, or just cross threaded?
Screwing a pedal through from the other side of the crank might just recut the thread enough to be used, some threadlock would also help.

I got one of the Iberital grinders for a birthday present, its good but bloody noisy and its pretty slow at grinding and the timer is a waste of time IMHO.

milesey if you take the photo you posted, if the travel was reduced to 100mm you would still be able to see the graduations for the 120mm travel, but its just an uneducated guess.

To get a colleague back after he had pranked me, I decided to fill his umbrella up with the contents of a hole punch every day for weeks, I then left the job, but a couple of months later he got in touch to say that the Commander of the Malaysian Navy (was working at Yarrow Ship Builders) had borrowed the umbrella, and had been snowed on in front of other high ranking Naval officers, he apparently saw the funny side though.
While working at YSL, it was common for colleagues to bring in cakes and donuts, but I also used to have a bottle of Daves Insanity sauce, which was used to lace the confectionery.

My 29er Rebas can’t be extended to 115mm, I have extended a pair of 26″ OEM Rebas in the past.
If you look at the photo in the link, the travel increments on the stanchion dont show the 100-115mm range, so I would say no.

I use Ardents, Rampages and Werewolfs, and the width varies depending on what rim they are on, obviously the wider the better. I only use the Werewolfs in the summer as the tread isn’t aggressive enough for the winter gloop.

    EDIT: Those P35s look ace

I bought the On-one Rebas for £250, not sure what year they are but the look identical to the 2012, unfortuneately they are sold out.
I was hoping to extend the travel to 120mm, which doesn’t appear possible, unless anyone knows otherwise?

I don’t see why not, mine came with reducer spacers, and 80mm graduations on the stanchions.

I have always touched up any chips before selling the car, the trick is to build up the paint levels rather than just putting a massive blob on. Under close inspection they might be obvious, but unless someone is looking closely they wont show up. I guess it also depends on the colour.

I am 6ft and have an 18″ Scandal and an 19.5″ Inbred, the Inbred has a 20mm shorter stem, so they both feel pretty similar, however I prefer the extra top tube clearance of the 18″, so will probably sell the 19.5″ and get another 18″ Scandal.

I have a Kaffenback and an X, and have also ridden the Croissant de Merde.
The X is my favourite for offroad riding, the Kaff struggles with tyre clearance (although may have been fixed with newer models). There was a lot of toe overlap with the Croix, which was also heavier.
