I think my 11 year old son has had a new bike every year as he keeps outgrowing them.
I recently bought a bargain Canyon Spectral in a Medium off my mate thinking I will keep that until he grows into it, turns out its a perfect size for him.

My 2011 2.0tdi recently had an EGR fail (105k miles), there was nothing noticeably wrong apart from it occasionally going into limp home mode, until eventually it was always in limp home mode, scanning the ECU gave an EGR fault.
Expensive fix, but you should still be under warranty.
Have you scanned the ECU for faults?

Can you fit a saddle with a lower height, I had the same problem on my sons bike, but fitted a saddle that was 10mm lower then the one that was fitted.

Yes we did it, neighbours houses (bigger) were in a lower tax band, and a friend with the exact same house in a different village were a lower band.
Took forever to sort out, but think we got a refund of approx £4k (9 years worth), so its worth doing.

Having just bought a Diabolo and a Joystick, they are definitely the way to go, no cables no faff.
I think the Joystick is the better option, as it has a longer runtime and a slightly narrower beam.

I bought the adapter for the new style HTII BB, but it doesn’t fit in either of my older HTII BB Tools?

Drilled a 4mm hole through the end of my finger about 3 years ago, was painful for about 12 months, Nail fell off and grew back OK, still got very little sensation at the entry point.

I am a sleep grinder, it got so bad (TMD) that I was referred to a specialist for treatment. I think this was also due to stress at work causing me to clench my teeth. I was also clenching when out on my bike and doing big efforts.
I used to wear a gum shield, but made things worse as I was chewing it during the night.
I am definitely worse after drinking alcohol.

I am MTBing with my son in Tignes from the 8th-15th July, never even crossed my mind that there would still be snow on the trails!

I had a set of Zondas, they are great wheels for the money.
    2 problems though.

I snapped quite a few spokes (85kg), and because of the spoke design, losing one spoke meant that the wheel wouldn’t spin in the frame. Spokes are unique and quite expensive.
I destroyed the rims in 3 days in the Alps, it was wet which didn’t help, but they wore away at an alarming rate. Replacement rims were almost the same price as a new set of wheels.
Currently on RS81, which seem to be holding up better.

Just stopped the childcare vouchers and my kids no longer need them, was pleasantly surprised to find I had £1550 in the account and it is being paid back to me (with tax and NI reductions).

I have a holiday house at Cragganmore, and I agree the Cromdale to Cragganmore route is a nightmare on a bike. Every couple of years I will ride it again, as I forget how bad it is.

Yes, also excessive play in the bushes, returned twice under warranty, gave me a new fork each time.
120mm travel, 32mm stantions, 150mm axle and a 4 inch tyre make for a very flexy fork, which I don’t believe was up to the job.

I was rating my 3.0 NN’s, but after the permafrost melted last weekend, the top layer of slime is impossible to get any grip on, not sure any other tyres would be better though

The last time I rode it my gears were 53/39 and 11/36, managed it in a respectable 6.30h that year.

I started riding Park in my Forties, tried a BMX but couldn’t get on with it, bought a cheap Voodoo jump bike which I used for a year. I now have an NS Momentum which is great.
Definitely made me better at jumping and manuals.

    I have a SWB T5.
I mounted the R&R bed further forward, so that when extended the bed touches the front seats.
The R&R has a 6″ cushion at the back which has been removed.
I use to have a double swivel passenger seat which was the same height as the bed, so used that for my head, its now replaced with a single seat on a swivel, which still works for my head.
I can easily get 2 bikes in sideways with front wheels off and all the kit in the back.
I have bought some ply to make a garage that is closed off to the sleeping compartment, but haven’t got round to fitting it yet.
I have side units with sink/hob, but no tall wardrobe.

If you want any photos PM me.

    Cheers Doug

Thanks for the advice, I booked an appartment in the centre of Tignes last night for the 8th – 15th July.
Any suggestions of where to spend another week, with good biking (preferably uplifts)?

I am running a Fat Albert on the rear with Magic Mary upfront, I find the FA clears mud much better than a NN or HD, its a bit more draggy though.

Dropped a cannon across my legs, still got no feeling down my right leg 20 years later.

Drilled a hole through my Index finger with a 6mm drill bit, only stopped because the drill hit my nail on the other side. Still no feeling 2 years later.

    @FunkyDunk

    I paid £16k for a Cayman S with 67000 miles.
Its fast and refined, and not too bad on the fuel for a 3.4l.
