Can you put me down as another reserve, unless we can get another 10?

Surf-Mat – I have owned an Equinox 350 for about 12 years and it has been an excellent tent, thats why I was keen to go with a Vango again. I think the 450 wil be a bit small as I want a decent living area that I can stand up in.

hughjengin – Thanks for the detailed response, i think i am swaying towards the Tigris at the moment.

I had thought about buying the canopy to give us a bit more space, but what about the Footprint and Carpet are they worth buying?

hughjengin – When the 3rd bedrrom in the Tigris is fitted, is there enough living space?

The Kids are 4 and 6, boy and girl, they are fine sharing a bedroom just now, but not sure what it will be like when they get older.
What is the partition in the bedroom of the Icarus, Orchy like? Does it give any privacy or is it just a curtain?

It was only £35, and the quality doesn't seem too bad, it was the Penicuik store near Edinburgh, I am not sure if the deals vary across the country.

I have two, a Voodoo Limba from Halfords, which I have used through the winter on the road, but will soon be reinstated as a cross. And an old singlespeed Kaffenback which was built out of the spare parts bin, the Kaffenback is a Pub/hack bike but I have still ridden some decent offroad routes on it, which I will be this weekend (hopefully pub and offroad).
I take my Voodoo down to Glentress occasionally, and its good fun round the red.

I bought a house a couple of years ago with a large decking area that was looking a bit tired.
I painted it with Cuprinol Decking Stain, I think I went through 4 tubs @ £30 each.
It looked good until after the winter when the stain (it was more like paint) started to flake off, and after 8 months it needed doing again.
The next time I bought Cuprinol Ducksback Shed/Fence Paint as it was a 3rd the price, still looks good for a few months and comes off every winter.

I am now in the position where I need to treat another currently unstained deck, but for the reasons highlighted above I don't want to use the same Cuprinol Decking Stain, I did think a coloured oil might be better but don't want to be in the same position after the winter.

    I am open to suggestions.

Just had the authorisation from the wife to buy a Brinkmann professional BBQ from Costco (assuming they haven't sold out).

A friend used to go out with a Candida, which I believe is something your Lady Garden can suffer from.
I wonder if anyone has called their kids Shimano (maybe in Japan), Campag, or SRAM?

When I converted to Ghetto Tubeless using Panaracer Fire XC tyres, I had the rear come off the rim after a squint landing, wasn't particularly low pressure, approx 35PSI, but the tyres were very loose on the rim when I fitted them.

Daughter rode a likeabike from age 3 and was pedaling just before her 4th birthday. Sone rode a likeabike from 20 months and was pedaling at 2 years 10 months, he rode a couple of 10 milers last summer at 3.25 years.
The wife is getting a new MTB shortly, so hope to do a lot of cycling with the family over the summer.

I use an On-One doofer on mine, never dropped a chain, the gearing is 34:16, it sometimes feels a bit low on the flat, but I ride some steep hills and also go out with the kids/pub so it works for me.

I am pretty sure mine doesn't, can't find any photos of it to hand.

    Bearing Fit would work

I don't think it would ever come out again though.

I use my cross bike with road tyres as my Winter Hack. It doesn't feel as fast on the road as my Carbon road bike, and the steering feels a bit lazier, but the BB height, wheel base, TT length are all the same. Only problem is that I just can't get a set of brakes to work properly having tried several different Cantis, V's with Travel Agents, and Discs.

2 bricks, which I use as a book end.
An inlet valve from a random VW.
A ticket to Maximo Park from 31st March 2007.

Just watch the amount of toe overlap on a smaller frame, not an issue when using road tyres, but a pair of knobblies and some tight switchback could see you over the bars.

If they had the Carbon 29er for £400 on preorder, I would bite their hand off.

We have a bath that has been tiled down to the bath, however the taps are really tight against the tiles and are awkward to turn.

MTB Tuesday Night 2-3 hours and Road Sunday Morning 3-4 hours through the winter, in the summer I will try and get out one/two more times a week, and also commute 50 miles to work on a Friday.
Its still never enough, and I am always the slowest from my group.

There is a tiny bit at the top of the black, but nothing to worry about.
Tuesday night was very dry down there, which made the trails quite skittery, you will have to stick to the main (black/red/blue/green) trails as there are a lot of trees down on the secret trails, which spoils the fun.

I love the simplicity of a SingleSpeed but it kills my knees, I still own 2 (29er Rigid and a Cross) but they are only used for flatish rides now.
As a compromise I ride 1×9, which works well for me.

You can park at one of the secure Park and Rides just outside the city for free, and then get a bus into town. There are Park and Rides at Straiton, Hermiston Gait, Sherrifhall etc.

What is the recommended stem length to use with Mary Bars?
I am just about to fit a set on an On-one Scandal, I used a 100mm stem with riser bars, should I use the same stem with the Marys?

I ride 32 x 11/34 on my 26er and 32 x 12/36 on my 29er, which has worked perfect for me over the last 18 months.
Only once or twice have I come across an ascent thats a bit steep for the gearing but you learn to get out the saddle and attack them. The top end has always been fine, maybe on the road I spin out a bit, but I can still keep up with my mates.
And you will save approx 1lb in weight.

Looks good, and something I am considering building myself, do you know what the weight is? Also does the back end feel heavy with the Alfine?

I have a Tinbred with Rebas at their Max travel, and it all works fine for me. I used to have a set of 120mm MX Pros on an Inbred and they were fine as well.
Have Inbreds not been tweaked over the years to cope with longer forks, so it might depend on what generation of Inbred you are thinking of using?

There was some fresh snow up there on Tuesday night and the final climb (switchbacks) up to Spooky Wood still had 4-6" of snow and we couldn't ride up it, so didn't bother, everything lower than Spooky Wood was clear.

I had the same problem when I rebuilt a Hope XC hub.
The first two times I rebuilt the hub I used Hope bearings and had no problems, the 3rd time I used some cheaper bearings and I had the same symptoms as you. I stripped it back down to check if I had got the spacers wrong or the bearings miss aligned, but everything seemed OK. I replaced the bearings again as the seals got damaged when I removed them, reassembled the hub, and the same problem remains. I was going to try some genuine hope bearings, but its a spare wheelset, and don't need the expense.
I replaced the front Hope bearings with the same cheaper bearings and it was fine.

My mate is trading his in (2.0D) at the weekend as he has had lots of expensive problems over the couple of years he has owned it. The biggest (and apparently common) expense was the fuel pump going, which cost approx £1000 to fix. It also has a intermittent problem where it cuts out for no reason, but once left for half an hour, it will start again and be fine for a couple of days. This is a common problem going by the forums, but Volvo have been unable to fix it.
But its a nice car otherwise.

Another vote for a real like-a-bike, had a ridgeback scoot as well, but the handlebars were to wide and my sons heels used to catch on the rear wheel nuts, had a brake which was handy. Also had an Ebay special, didn't use it myself, but sold to a friend and it fell apart pretty quickly.
Its a shame you can't buy an adult like-a-bike

I work for the Simulation part of Insyte at Hillend.

Not a bad company to work for, I have been with them for 13 years through various incarnations and at different sites. Unfortuneately my current site has been shrinking from approx 500 employees to 100, and now 45% are to go.

If you are wanting to join a defence company, I would choose one that has several other similar companies in the area, to keep your options open in the future.

It might be quicker to head along the M8 and down the M74 and avoid the A702/A701, the roads south of edinburgh this morning were pretty sketchy, not much snow, but what was there was frozen hard.

I work for BAE Systems Insyte, and there has just been 650 redundancies announced, the site I work at are getting rid of 45% of the workforce, so things aren't looking great.
Having said that Barrow have 3 more Astute class submarines being built/to build so there should be work there for a few years.
