Hey, we didn't finish last in the 3 man teams ! We only did 5 lenghts but so did loads of others and I can hardly swim !!

Yeah, many thanks to the Marshalls, I always try to give them a laugh when I go past – one way or another – and my mate gave one a belly laugh when he picked up his mud clogged bike and threw it ! Hadn't realised anyone was there….good plan to give THOSE paths a miss for a few weeks !

Forgot to say though, I'm off to North Wales next month and I'm SURE I'll miss it then…bigger tyres time, I guess !

Like you, I had to sell one due to lack of money, and it was the full sus that went.
"Regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention"
I will though – the bb was higher on my full sus and I REALLY miss that ! When the ground was rock-hard, I missed it (well my back did) plus you can 'glide' over rutty stuff easier. You just ride things in a different way, a bit more sapping but I've ridden just as many hours in one stint as I did with the other bike so…do I miss it ? Yeah, but I 'think' I can live without it…..maybe…

Having seen how many will be on the starting line, I take it one of the grassy knolls will be used straight away ? (Hope not)

Not going til September but let us know how it's all doing there. Like repairs, cafe etc.. Cheers mate, have fun – even if it is on your own !

I've used what 'foxyrider' has suggested in the past and it works great. Yeah a bit weighty but cheaper than getting a new steerer put in and I wouldn't fancy getting a piece welded on a steerer tube having seen the face of a mate who face-planted on a snapped steerer on a fork made by one of the biggest names on the market !

Been riding Cannondales since I can't remember and only had one issue with an early Super V (hairline crack) got a new frame (in MY choice of colour and size) within a week !
THAT original frame is still going – ridden by the shop owner's son, so it wasn't even that bad !
Love 'Dales but I know they are a pain to deal with at times. Summed up just the other day by a shop that sells them "if it was any other company than Cannondale we would drop them – but they make such good bikes ! It's Cannondale Europe that is the problem."

…and when you put them on use a weak solution of washing up liquid. It allows you to move the sticker about and put it EXACTLY where you want it – then allow to dry. Got that tip from a mate who did it for a living before anyone questions it !

Cheers guys. You'd think that maybe 10 tubes would last some time but I ride everyday (as much offroad as possible) and there are another 3 bikes in the family so it's amazing how that number falls as you replace the 'well used – where do I stick this patch ?' tubes.

Could have a front brake though ??

Is there play in the cranks ? Side to side ? If not, try greasing first…if you've got the tools that is.

Reluctantly I agree they are not as good as they were. Recently, I needed some gear cables so ordered from them 'knowing' they'd come next day.
Not only didn't they come for 3 days but they sent the wrong things !! Kept what they'd sent and re-ordered as it's more trouble to send stuff back.
Could've / should've gone to a local shop but I really like using Chain Reaction….usually….and the local shops aren't great.

"thought this was going to be a reference to Missy Giove's sentencing, instead it's a damned cat"
What sentence vinnyhe ? What's she done now ?

I used to love her and called my wife 'Missy' – 'til I found out she was a lessie (er…not my wife, that is), – only 'cos she rides Cannondale and they were Missy's best years, Piranha and all.

20 seconds is right but there is no proven science but 20 seconds and the muscle will know it's being stretched ! Stretching should be just gentle too – don't over stretch or jerk (not 'carry on' jokes please.

Well the weight would be less, that's for sure, and the quality of shifters is better / smoother. The crankset would be classier but the chainrings don't really last but with an XT bb you'd shave quite a fair amount of grammes….shame the arms scuff just the same as any other though.

"because you will not be riding as fast as them"
Now wait a minute…cheers guys some good advice there. I love this site !
I'm not going to say what my brakes are at this time but one guy on here said he'd rather put his foot in the spokes than use them !!
I find them okay generally but they're not really 'trick or light'.

Mmm good points about the 180's but I'm running 160's now and fancied the extra Umph ! I guess if they are better brakes 160's will do it anyway !
    Any Hope's going cheap ?

I used to use the famed Conti cross country 1.5 which were SUPER fast and got me through tons of mud in the days of V-brakes and all the clogging that used to happen on most mtb's.
Mind you, I remember falling off a bit more and they needed to be 'rock hard' and I'm not sure I could take that pounding nowadays.

I don't see why you have to die (or at the very least, seriously injured) BEFORE the police see it as serious !!
No doubt both drivers will be hit with a hefty driving ban – being as probably neither have a licence – that'll teach 'em a lesson they won't forget….

Could be the car rack – check where the straps go. Can't use enough sponge on bikes when transporting. Could try 'driving slower'….

Never done it myself but I know you need specialist tools for a start. THAT always put me off when I had a lefty. Brilliant fork though and no different to most modern forks in that it's best to leave it to the professionals, really. Expensive but worth it for peace of mind !
Having said all that, I'm sure I saw something on the 'net – could try you tube…

Good point that DOMINO. I take it she has some good shorts but will double check that too.

I usually ride a 32 but I must admit, as I get older, a 34 would be pretty good now and then !
When I was racing regular I often had a 28 to save weight !!!

MMmm…I usually take a 7 and so (cleverly) ordered a 7 – well they do fit but really with thin socks. Saying that – an 8 would have been too big – probably – but there's always been that little doubt in my mind – the trouble of NOT being able to buy in your local shop, I guess.

Prop yourself up, at night, with a pillow leaning slightly to the side with the break. And wait SIX weeks for a complete recovery. Get out on your bike asap though, it's only getting on and off the bike that is painful !! (And getting out of the saddle is not a good idea, just spin away ).
And just to add to JAM BO's list – DON'T SNEEZE either – but you'll do ALL those even if you NEVER normally do – weird init ?

Can't believe nobody has pointed out this is totally in the wrong section. What's this got to do with a Bike Forum ?
Not only that but if you do go down the pub surely you talk about all sorts of things – really INTERESTING things….like politics, bin men only picking up every other week, snow, rain, BBC, etc.. Football doesn't seem so bad now, does it ?

Used the undercliff going the other way the day after it snowed the FIRST time and it was great, nice and cruchy and vigin snow – well until just by the Marina where a patch of ice had me sliding 10 yards on my back ! No damage done due to all the layers I had on but it was early and very dark – probably not the cleverest thing I've ever done, so tell someone which way you are going at least…

That's superb Banjo. That's inspired me to go up there tomorrow now. If I freeze to death it's YOUR fault !
Only got my bike though, be interesting to see if I can get all the way to Woodingdean and home, using the South Downs Way…..

Was riding through town the other day after an 8 mile trek over spiky snow and ice, when I thought the seatpost had slipped down. When I got off I realised the rear tyre was punctured (3 holes). How long it'd been like that I don't know but I hadn't had any grip problems so just let ALL the air out and you'll be fine !

MOJO are great without doubt. As you say, really helpful AND quick return. Great company.
