Hi trisysjoint, in case you haven’t heard of them, if you need ANYTHING (but not shocks Cannondale wise) contact QWERTYCYCLES. They are brilliant and have helped me out for years. Might be worth asking them, maybe they can help.

Some really good answers there, thanks guys. Like thepurist said, mine arrived down too. Interesting but I guess it makes sense, pressure wise, to leave it up. Then again, as some say, they’ve left theirs down for years.
Think I better teach her how to use the post properly 😉

Brilliant article there, thanks Nickjb. And that’s what I really wanted, comments from actual owners. Nice one

Sorry, can I blame predictive text for that one ? 27.2” obviously.

Thanks guys. Will try my wife’s exact same phone tomorrow with my strava installed on that and see if it’s better. But will try the power saving option on mine too. Time to get the manual out I guess 😏

The funny thing is, now all the cuts and abrasions are healing, I did the Brighton Evans ride on the bike 2 days after getting it. Schoolboy error ! For some reason I didn’t really check anything except putting it on a workstand and getting the gears working enough before changing it all AFTER the weekend.
I had a massive off on chalk and loose stone – not the bikes fault I must stress then did the other 22 miles with a dead leg which eventually led to 2 hamstrings knotting on every hill. Having climbed up to Ditchling Beacon, I was on the ground as my mate was holding my foot up trying to relieve the pain I was in – the non drive crank arm fell off ! Brilliant timing 😂
EVERYTHING was loose and hardly needed a tool to undo it EXCEPT the cassette.

Wow, thanks for the ideas guys be trying (probably all of) those tomorrow.
Yeah, the lock ring is still on so at least there is (for now anyway) something to grab onto.
    Now where’s my hammer ?

Cheers guys. I’ll check out the Brand x and Shimano, but as you say Klunky, probably dear.
How much you looking at groundskeeperwilly ? That 170 might be a bit long for me. I need to get the tape measure out again. What length is the post ?

Wish you good luck Rustychain. Hopefully whoever picked it up will get in touch.
Such a great day up there isn’t it ? Spent a weekend up there some years ago at the ‘Pace’ accommadation and loved it. Really challenging.
Did laugh at some of the other ‘mistakes mtbers make though’.

Lots of gear changes (unless you’re single speed of course) so make sure your bike is set up right. Brilliant is truly the tight word. Is ALWAYS well organised by Rory and the team. Love this event and it’s my local best single track. I am SOOO lucky

I’ve got the Hydroshot and it’s brilliant but anyone know a good way of cleaning the filter ? I wasn’t as careful as I should have been

I guess I used to hate it in the days of V-brakes where you would have to stop to clear the build up of mud so the wheels would turn again ! But nowadays I quite enjoy the challenges that the slippy stuff adds though it’s always nice when you don’t have to spend half an hour washing the bike off…..

There’s quite a choice of phone holders out there, and after reading loads of reviews I went for the BTR waterproof case, which I found cheapest on Amazon at the time, and it fits just about every phone.
I’m a cycle courier so, trust me on this, I use it nearly every day.

At least Chris Hoy did a good commentary on the BMX races (probably because he used to race them – and mtb by the way).
Reading this about the lack of British cross country racers made me think about the earlier MOTO GP race that a Brit won for the first time since 1981 (Barry Sheene) and there’s a lot more money in that !!

Hoping this race would get Peter Sagan back into mtbing but maybe not now. Shame really. If he’d been on a Cannondale again he would have won it !!

Commentator said, the Dutch rider broke his “FRONT FORKS” ! Lucky he didn’t snap his rear forks eh ?
I missed the crash because the BMX was on the BBC Olympic channel that said ‘boxing’. Great stuff BBC. As if it’s not hard enough to flick between BBC 1 and 2 every 30 seconds !!!

Why doesn’t my Strava talk to me anymore ?
Haven’t got the premium version (never had) but before the last (or even next to last) update, it’s lost it’s voice. Am I missing something ? (Apart from the voice clever clogs)

Actually both, many thanks ‘guru’ , will check on strava now. Hope to track them down later today. Fingers crossed

Check out GFORM. You can wear those all year round. Around £40 but most good ones are. Useful this time of year with it being so overgrown everywhere. You can pull them down to your wrists if you want to. Try doing that to any of the others ! Had mine years and they still look great. Machine washable too.

By the way, they are SRAM X1’s not sure if they are powder coated or anodised but the soda trick is working using a scourer. Took about an hour and half. Think I need to make it thicker !!!

I suppose they are anodised ? Whatever the normal finish is. Tried wire wool but it’s pretty slow going. Didn’t use any liquid apart from water. Will try both those then. Thanks guys

That takes me back…….had 3 mates with Oranges (2 had the original P7’s) and ALL had slipping seat posts. It’s an Orange thing ! Weird. Don’t think they ever really solved it.

    Hope that helps

Ridden South Wales on everything from small block 8’s to Trailraker’s and NEVER (am I really saying this ?) had a puncture or grip problems at any time. Whatever you’ve got on just go with it.
By the way, I went one year on a brand new Norco that came with ‘stupidly high tyre pressure’ that shops like to do ??? And even that was great ! Just enjoy….
