Aye, always a good idea to buy a spare before you actually need one!

I’m familiar with Endo and enjoy the monthly challenges etc that we do through mlehworld.
This year I intend to race more and I think Strava may be more useful whilst in the saddle. Also, I’d like to see whereabouts I rank amongst my peers in the local hierarchy, given that they’re all on Strava and I’m not.
Basically, if it’s simple to do both then why not? My iPhone battery will no doubt breathe a sigh of relief too!

Quick question (from a confirmed luddite): I have always used Endomondo as my app of choice on an iPhone and have never bothered with Strava. However, virtually everybody else that I ride with, or know locally, use Strava and I’ve been umming and ahhing over whether to switch. I’ve just acquired a Garmin 810 and wondered whether I can import the stats from this into both Strava and Endo at the end of each ride? And, crucially, is it easy to do?

I sneaked back into 4th place with a late season recovery burst. Was doing well (with a target of 8k miles) until a couple of health issues in early/late summer set me back by a good few hundred miles. Finished with 7151, which I’m happy with under the circumstances. Only disappointments for me (disregarding the health issues) were not surpassing my 2013 total of around 7600 miles and the fact that I only managed about 240 miles on the MTB this year.
I hope someone resets the same challenge for this year as I’ve found it useful.
Well done to all those that actually completed Ton’s target total of 6000 miles in the year. Also to those that found the challenge as useful as I did and used it as a motivational tool to keep the mileage ticking along when they might otherwise have found something else to do instead.

Leeds are doing perfectly fine as they are. No doubt they’ll raise their game in their impending cup final in Huddersfield though.

Depends on your club run speed, but a pair of Schwalbe Durano Plus in 700 x 25c will see you right. They’re bullet proof, a little forgiving, long lasting and you won’t feel like you’re towing a bath of concrete everywhere.

Looks a bit too gnarly for your average mincecore-lite XC gnarpoonerist. More yellow and turquoise required for a successful Enduro assault, I reckon.

I had to stop buying Tangfastics as I was eating that many I was effectively sandpapering my teeth away on the sugar coating.

Industrial sized bags of Doritos, peanut M&Ms, and most forms of milk chocolate are my vices.

Lusso Max Repel are good quality, have stirrups, are unpadded and you can deffo get them over a pair of Northwave Arctic boots with the strap underneath.

Doesn’t sound like a traditional run organised by an established road club to me. Sounds more like an informal group, with some more experienced riders than others.

Why not make a start on your very own bar of ‘soap’?
I suggest an old sock would be a good place to start collecting the raw materials…

Judging by the amount of bikes lacking mudguards on here, it seems that a lot of you don’t ‘do’ group/club rides? I’m all for a bit of solitude and time alone, but there must be some right anti-social buggers round here…

I remember giving it the full beans on my last lap at Mayhem this year when someone cruised past me like I was in reverse (I was averaging around 40 min laps, so not hanging around). I glanced up at the rapidly departing figure, spotted a shock of blonde hair hanging out of the back of the helmet, slim figure and deeply tanned legs and my first thought was ‘**** moi, she’s rapid’. Then I saw the Malvern CC jersey and twigged it was Liam Killeen. His riding style was just so smooth he made riding look effortless and the trail seem completely flat and featureless. It was quite enlightening to see just how good these top riders are in comparison to mere mortals, as opposed to in elite races.
