Not changed the cable routing from the ergo ?
That can “upset” them too … if the curves are particularly tight radius

for an extra “spanner in the works” … I changed from 34 inner to a 36
whilst leaving the 50 on and a 12-27 out back …. much more time on
the inner ring with a better spread of gears – OK so it’s campag and I
therefore have 11 to play with … but 90+ rpm is comfy now over most
    terrain I ride … :)

try running it past the various frame builders/repairers like
Argos or Mercian and see if they think the dropout can be replaced ?

mocve the cleats first …. try it and see – but only change 1 thing at a
    time :)
Sounds a lot like your cleats are too far forward though !

+1 the stada for road use (that was it’s intended market too :D).
use mine occassionally off road when I’ve forgotten to charge the MAXX-D
    and it’s been ok.
Warrenty (twice – different lights) has been superb.

my 12 year old tdi golf does that too …. Suspect the alternator/starter
motor but then mines done 226k !!

Crank speed so unlikely to be the glow plugs ….

    +1 the mkiv 1.9 …. mine’s a gt tdi pd 130 on a 51 plate with 225K so
far. Still does 50+ mpg, original clutch (not looking forward to
replacing that !!!), and had almost nothing go wrong in 12+ years. had
the aux drive belt tensioner failure repair under warranty, 1 dashboard
computer failure and lots and lots and lots of diesel :)

Defo handles like a barge though ….

Colleague has the later mkv (??) 2.0 and has had all sorts of issues
    with electrics

from what I remember … left lane for exits 1 and 2, right lane for
    exits 3 and 4 …
Although the highway code used to say something about watching out for
crossing traffic so if there’s a car inside of you heading for an exit
after yours you “should” give way to it and go around again rather
    than cut them off !!

I’m in BS7 too – Having looked at your pictures
got a very uncomfortable feeling – especially the first image
… the background buildings are VERY familiar !!!!

Still will keep my eyes open on my travels too.

i normally just use a cotton cycling cap …. sometimes one of those

I’d personally not go down that route …. I’d replace them.
mandp do complete sets for about 50-60 notes.

an alternative that I’ve used in emergencies is to cut up an
old belt to pack out the cush rubber. I’ve used leather belts
twice now :-) Not tried the inner tube idea though.
