thorlz – does that include near misses? I just dodged some kettle splashback while making a brew. Luckily, no biccies were harmed either.

    what he said ^^

I had a C’Dale crack around the weld on the shock mount once. Took forever to find. Had it re-welded by a specialist ally welder and bingo, no more noise.

I’ve removed a few on mine and other peoples. I prefer to drill them out using ever increasing bits. once they start to give they fall out quite quickly. Don’t rush it.

AAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS stated before, SURELY it’s common courtesy to mention before anything is undertaken that should something, no matter how big or small, need sorting then there’s no way Jose that you can do it, especially when you knew we needed it back sharpish and doubly especially when you you knew that one blerk was going to be off.

    Fore warned is etc etc

A simple “oh by the way before we MOT & service your car (like you requested when you booked) we can’t actually carry out any repairs today because….” would have been nice/lovely/courteous/obvious/helpful/all listed. Nothing was even hinted at until after the MOT.

UPDATE: the car is good to go again!!

Thank you to Springbok Autos of under the viaduct Stockport for bailing us out of the pooh, and NO THANKS to Churchgate Autos for letting us know too late that you couldn’t fix it in time.

    Total Damage:
    Churchgate MOT £50 robbing bazturds

Springbok Autos x2 Conti tyres*, x2 front discs’n’pads, lots of new bulbs, headlight realign, EGR clean plus drive up to Churhgate for reMOT. £470 inc.vat

*annoyingly the Vectra use XL tyres and the wife uses bricks on the pedals so I don’t dare buy budgets on the front.

If old garage had mentioned that they couldn’t fix anything before they’d started the MOT I wouldn’t have had a problem. One of their blerks was on his holls and they knew this when I booked it weeks ago. A heads-up about any delays should have been given.

Sharkbait – they could charge a partial retest fee but they’ve realized that this is the second time they’ve let me down.

I thought I’d found “a good one”, but this is the second time they’ve let me down. Once the dust has settled there will be much naming and shaming.

Not anymore. New garage is fixing it and then taking it back to old garage to be re-MOT’d so we don’t get charged for 2 MOT’s. New garage is nice like that.

If he really wants shot of it, why reduce the pinkbike price to £350 and not £210 like gumtree?

am I right to be a bit suspicious?

I’m trying to find a silver lining here and the only ones I’ve got are that the crew wouldn’t have suffered and that it wasn’t in a built up area.

    I hope lessons are learned.
