I use a dakine one . Holds all my tools , co2 , phone ,pump etc . It will hold a bottle too but i mount that on fabric cageless system and use the bottle pouch for my pack a mac. So much less hassle than a pack and much more balanced

I had a banshee spitfire , i now only own two hardtails a dartmoor hornet 4x for the bike park/bmx track and a carbon cube reaction for xc duties, i dont miss full suss at all.

I have just ordered myself an onza jackpot frame though i cant wait to get this bad boy built up . Slowly accumulating a sick pile of parts

I had a liteskin ron on the front and a ralph on the rear they set up tubeless no problem really just took a little longer as very porous. The problem i had is the front blew out off a small drop at the bottom of a steep shoot and dumped me on the floor, luckily i didnt break anything just bruised and battered .i found a split right by the bead , not repairable and lost trust in them. Now ive got snakeskin sidewalls and feel alot safer.

cant give you a route but head south/ south east for the nicest areas not north ( north is flat , dull and boring).

you want to head towards the saffron walden area for the best riding, look for places like heydon , gt chishill, arkesten to the west of safron walden and ashdon, hempstead, wimblish to the east of safron walden . try and make a route that includes some of these and you wont go too wrong.

if you can get there the best cafe by far is https://www.biciclettavelo.com/ in safron walden its ace. in fact i would plot a route that takes you there via the villages to the west of safron walden and then back via ashton, helions bumpstead ,castle camps , bartlow , linton, balsham, fulbourn etc

i got the eten for £55 a month ago. i wanted a cheap dropper on my xc bike as im not comfortable with the seat at full extension on drops/jumps and its a pain on long climbs having to stop to raise it an inch or so. it took a while to get used to the under seat lever rather than bar mount but now im used to it , it works great for the purpose i bought it for .the only thing i hate is the weight but i cant afford to spend hundreds on a all singing all dancing post and of course with a remote i would use it much more.cant complain at all for £55 quid though

As mentioned above , your best bet is chicksands or woburn for bike park action Or thetford for some fast tame xc loops . I try to get to chicksands once or twice a month and i ride thetford for fitness. All you have round cambridge is flat bridleways etc to explore really although south of cambridge has more hills

Pump tracks are awesome. I built a dartmoor hornet 4x for pump track, duel slalom ,4x and just messing about in the woods. These types of bike are so much fun.

Ive got some , really good quality, look good and not as bulky as my last shimanos with the lace flap. I found the sizing to be the same as my previous shimano shoes

Climb isnt a lock out it just adds more platform (low speed compression) so it takes more effort to compress the fork on low speed hits ie pedaling . It should compress still in climb mode and should open up to absorb bigger /faster impacts if needed. Sounds like its working fine asong as it feels stiffer in climb than trail and desent when you push down on the bars.

Im very biased but I would get the spitfire its an awesome alround trail shredder , its my only bike I use it for everything from long xc rides ,bike park, trail, non extreme downhill and even a bit of commuting. It just laps everything up .I built mine a year and a half ago now and ive had no issues what so ever it really just is a superb bike..

heres some pictures to wet your appitite, mines 26″ but its ment to be great as 650b too

run a blackspire top guide with my narrow /wide ring as I was dropping the chain probably once a session over ruff stuff. My top guide uses those front derailleur mounts , E13 and blackspire both do sram s3/ shimano etype guides pro ably other manufacturers too if you hunt around.nice neat sloution for a frame with that style of mount

mine started doing the same over rough stuff after about 5 months , I tightened the clutch which helped but it still wasn’t perfect. In the end I fitted a top guide as I would rather not worry about the odd dropped chain and its been fine ever since

13.8kg for my banshee spitfire as it is , so a shade over 30Ib . I could go under 30Ib with carbon bars and a couple of small changes, doesn’t really matter though as the bike is great as it is:)

Im 5ft8in tall and aged 38 .two and a half years ago i was 17st4Ib, i now wiegh 11st1Ib .

I lost the weight by making lifestyle changes not using fad diets I was triggered to do this by doctors comments about health risks and the birth of my son .

the first step was exercise as I was doing none hence why I originally started mountain biking, now I do it because I love it and I has become my passion. i also sold my x box and quit gaming.

I then started using the myfitness pal app to track exactly what I ate so I could train myself to eat the right foods and the right amounts. this was a massive revelation to me as I was eating so much more calorific value than I should of been, but I thought I had been eating well/normally .

so I now use the app as a daily food diary to track everything I eat , it was hard a first as I consumed so much sugar and fat that my body craved it, but now I don’t miss it at all. im the healthiest and fittest ive ever been in my life , im happier and I eat a varied mixed diet .

mountain biking and this myfitnesspal have without doubt changed my life and probably saved me from some serious health problems( it certainly cleared some up)

this probably wouldn’t work for everyone as you need to be very strict with yourself but for me it worked as im very one track minded/OCD about things so I locked into the plan and didn’t deviate unless it was a special occasion.(helps that I don’t drink)

its so funny bumping into old friends as It always takes them a while to realise its me as ive changed so much in the last 2 years 😆

paints been good on mine, im also a serial cleaner who helitaped the entire frame before I built the bike though:)

mine was a lot less than 1750 but there was a biggish price increase between 2013-14

on a different note everyone knows reds the best colour because its faster( and the rarest spitty colour apart from the ltd orange) :P….

    the blue is nice though

My medium build wieghs in at 30ib 4oz although it rides like a lighter bike , I could get it under 30ib with a carbon handlebar and less burly tyres / wheels easily…but im really happy with it as it is, I use it for all my riding as I dont have the space or cash for a second bike ….

Ive had my spitfire since may 13 and I love it, it’s handled everything ive thrown at it including crashes . I would definatly get the cane creek shock , I took the fox option and although it works fine I do wish I had gone with the dbair. Im using a fox 34 160mm, it works great with the frame much better than the 150mm rev I originally used.

    heres some pictures

I got the tripod to go pro mount piece from amazon ( I cannablised a muvi camera mount thats similar to go pro fitment) but now there seems to be even better options available cheap from ebay. Once you have that piece you can buy any go pro mount kits and it will fit:)

I used super heavy duty velcro for a few months , the go pro mount solution seen in my pic above is so much better (less helmet in video etc) and much more secure and adjustable I wouldnt go back to velcro….

I used to get lots of problems with my hands going numb and having to shift position on the bars. when I switched to a shorter 50mm stem and wider 750mm bars with a high rise this all went away:)

Ive just added the blackspire top guide to the e type/s3 mounts on my banshee spitfire which I have been running with a raceface narrow/wide and z rear mech for the last 6 months. The clutch mech and n/w ring are great but definatly not 100% foolproof .I was losing my chain on roots etc once every couple of rides and just decided enough was enough the top guide wieghs less than 50gms anyway. Havent lost the chain since I fitted it
