No, an alpine. Only snapped a bolt but called it a day as we’re local

Hope you all enjoyed one of the driest welsh days of the last 6 months :)
I only managed one run with some of you, down melted welly & vicious valley, before I had to shoot off after mate my mate broke his bike.
    Going back Sunday.

The bicycle doctor Porth I’ve been using since I took up Mtb a few years ago. Good friendly reliable service.
Just found this nice video of their race team from a few years back

I’ll probably be there in the afternoon if the weathers not too bad.

I’m not too sure on laws & regs now as I’ve been out of the glazing trade for a while, but supply only and getting a mate to fit could be a load of hassle. I think the fitter needs to be fensa registered, if not the home owner needs to get planning permission or checked by building control. I may be wrong, but think something along those lines came in 5-10 years ago to try to flush out so many PVC cowboys.

A mates 2013 714 wore away the rear triangle through a fault with the bearings or bushings?
It was replace replaced within a few weeks with a 2013 914.
I’ve had a 2010 314 & a 514 and happily buy another one seeing how good their warranties are.

I could probably do most jobs myself if I tried but chose not to. Mine goes into lbs for repairs. With work, family & hobbies bike time is limited so I wouldn’t give up a ride to learn how to do a job I don’t like doing.

Good review, I didn’t ride there today but took the wife & kids around some of the blues & the green.
I’ve rode there every week since opening but trying to go other places now too, to avoid uplift and get me some fitness.

Take the climb (beast of burden) to the top, ride any of the dh to the half way point which crosses a forest road, then go right up road or join back to the single track back to the top. I find the second half of the climb much easier.

I’ve advertised my transition covert a few times for around £2300 but have had little interest.
    It’s a 2012 top build with kashima, reverb and x0 kit 1×10.
I’d go down to £2050. New it cost £4400 so I think it’s a fair price?
    It’s a medium and I’m 6ft.
Let me know if you’d like any more info on it.
    Cheers

I bought that top for an alps trip, it gets real sweaty when any pedalling is involved.
Most rides I wear a xc helmet, gloves & knee pads. Most of my riding now is uplifting in s.Wales so I sometimes swap to a full face. Recently bought elbow pads but find them too uncomfortable.
Wear what you feel is right for the job in hand.

Bought some forks about two months ago as they were a good deal, since then I’ve bought everything except a few minor bits. Undecided and lack of funds stopping me getting a bb, oh and a frame.
    2014 project.

The magnetic sheets leave rust marks after a few months and look cheap. I’ve had vans sign written in the past, but wouldn’t again. I’ve not got enough work from it to pay for the stickers.
Word of mouth, Facebook and Twitter are far better.

I’ve got a vivaro, it’s a great van, bigger than a vw and nicer to drive but along with probably every other vivaro owner I wanted a vw but couldn’t justify the price. No other van looks as good as vw imo.

My springer is coming up to two yrs, from a working family but he’s a family pet. he always wants to lead but gets in the way, when I get infront, he constantly barks and freaks out until he’s able to overtake me. Any advice on how to change this would be welcome. He also won’t rest when I stop, just keeps running back and fore. I only take him on short rides, always under 10 miles for me but I’m sure he does at least double the mileage.

Yea, got the mobi17 but nothing to compare it with, battery life is very good. It has leaked 17 litres of water in the back of my van so I take bottled water now and fill it when ready.
Great tool if you have a car, but I wouldn’t buy another one, when it needs replacing im going to fit a 25L can and a caravan water pump with a garden hose & gun behind the van seats.

Halfords were doing 3 for 2 on all bike stuff and stock maxxis, not sure if it’s still on. 2 minions and a high roller for £31

I’ve used the standard 2.35 minion single ply, set up tubeless on stans rims and it burped quite easily resulting in tyre off the rim and me down the banking. I use them with tubes now, come in narrow, but good grip.

Took on my dream job this year knowing it was only temporary for six months. Loved every minute of it but it sucks having to go back to my original trade now.
