Needs cleaning every few months but wouldnt be without 1.
They are quite expensive but i think most people who say they aren’t worth the money havnt used one.

He will tell you where to start from, if you follow his advise you will clear his first double and find the confidence to keep at it.
He does 1 2 1 or public jump days.

Ride what you like and what you can afford. The only person that should care is you!

Any feedback on the Cli-Machx trail at Machynlleth? Worth a trip down?

Check if it’s opened. We rode it on our last day of 3 days n. Wales and the final desent was closed (3 weeks ago)
We did cyb dragons back on fri ( last 2 miles was a killer)
Llandegla black & blue sat (most smiles per minute)
& cli machx on sun. (disappointing & difficult to find)

As above, I’ve got no useful advice but I don’t think there’s anything you can do for him yet. Justbe there for him when he’s ready.

I think the 714 has had less use & the 514 has just had all new chain, cassette & derailer

I don’t think there are any 2012 in stock anywhere.
Iv got a 2010 514 & love it.
I dont know anything about the 2012s but the 314 colours look awesome.

2 of my mates are selling their zestys. 1 is a 514 size m
& the other is a 714 size s both 2010 though. S.Wales

If you are going to keep it for years, use it regulally and can justify the price get new. I got mine second hand for a great price and had no use

I rode it 2 weeks ago with 11 mates, all with totally different backgrounds, some ex motocross riders, some dirt jumpers and a couple with just a few months bike expierance.

We all loved it and want to come back soon.
I didn’t mind the easyish 1st climb as I was aching from cyb the day before.

Well I’ve just built a kennel but it’s vacant at the moment.

I have seen both parents, they are kept in large kennels in the garden with huge fields next to the house and get lots of exercise.
When he let them out they ran crazy for a few minutes until the owner whistled, they then both froze until the next instruction. I was impressed.

This keeps getting more confusing, I had been put off them, but now more good recommendations.

I was thinking of building a small kennel inside a 4ft x 4ft x 5ft enclosed box, opening out to a 4 meter x 1 meter run for day times when we are out. He would be indoors when we are. Does this sound ok?
I think we are leaning towards the lab now.

I’ve been offered a bulldog today off a friend, which are due in the first week of may but the wife doesn’t like them and I’m worried about the health problems.
I know they are great with kids and he won’t be going on any bike rides but I still like them.

I wouldn’t take it to trail centres, I think it would just be the local forestry loop which is quite a slow pace and 20 miles is very rare for me.
I hadn’t considered a greyhound or wippet, but was thinking of getting a pup to hopefully live 10 years plus, so the kids would be teanagers and possibly more understanding when it reaches the end of its life.
This disicion is getting really tough and will make picking my next bike or wheelset simple ;)

I stayed at trawsfyndd holiday village 2 weeks ago in their bunk house. It sleeps 20 people but you have to pay for 10 minimum. Fantastic house with a large lounge, kitchen, 3 bathrooms, drying room and a pub – restaurant across the road.
It was £19 per person per night, very clean and in a beautiful location.
I will be returning soon!!

I don’t think the breed I have in mind exists,
1 good with kids.
2 only needs a short walk twice a day.
3 happy to sit quietly when the kids are in bed.
4 fit enough to run along on a 10 – 20 mile ride once a week.

I might have to give up on number 4 for an easier life.

I do like Rottweilers but mrs rag doesn’t. My dad used to have two as guard dogs when I was a kid both of which never understood their job description, both soft and quiet

Thanks for all your advice, we have started to fall in love with it already but I think we will back out tomorrow before we commit to it.
The last pet I had was a bulldog over 20 years ago which I didn’t have to look after. He was not up to a bike ride either ;)
A lab or a collie would probably be more suited.

I had similar decision, sold a honda type r and bought a 3 year old vauxhall vivaro. A remap took it from a very sluggish 80bhp to 120bhp.
I fitted a double seat (£25 from a local mini bus company) with built in seat belts behind the drivers seat and it is now my perfect vehicle. I use it every day for work, shopping and trail centres.
I did want a transporter but couldnt afford or justify the extra £5000 or going back 3-4 years.

Taxis take you the long and expensive way round in my expierance, i think it was about £50 but the train is superb about £8
Weird, wonderful and culture shocking city. Would love to go back again.

Recently bought genuine oakley crosshair prescription sunglasses but at £280 I won’t wear them riding.
Can you get prescription lenses for the jawbones and any idea how much ?
