Was told today that there was over 900 visitors and not one of the trails were busy.
There was a 6yr old boy and a 56 year old lady riding the easyiest blues.
My 160mm bike was more than enough for everything I ride. I wouldn’t hit the pro lines on any kind of bike tho.

The uplifts should get faster, new vans, new drivers and new roads will all get settled in soon.

I think they used an off site car park today as one was used up by trade stands.

Having been involved in the project I am very biased but today was, wow!
Think we had about 800 visitors and the trails were perfect. Due to the amount of trails, they were quiet.
It’s like visiting 10 centres & dh tracks in one.
There is something for everyone. I did about 9 runs on the uplift and mates pedalling the climb did 3-5 laps.

Not sure if there is camping, I know there’s pods, a lodge @ cabins.

Loco, I looked out for you, bumped into some of those guys but don’t think you was with them at the time. I was in a Mitsubishi pick up truck.

Those guys on the 4 wheelers got some talent, a few alterations to the black runs and they’d have some scarily fast trails

For me it would be, 2 or 3 laps of bikepark Wales Saturday as there’s 6 trails to come down. Afan the wall or cwmcarn Sunday morning & a quick lap of Forest of Dean on the way home.

Good news for some of you. The climb is going to be finished :)

There’s been plenty of petty crime and unemployment in Merthyr for years but I’d take that over major gun and drug crimes in all cities any day.
A holiday destination it’s not, but if its a couple of days riding and somewhere to sleep your after then you’ll find what you want.

Every city and large town in the uk has rough areas and Merthyr is no worse.
The local community have have been strong supporters of bpw and I’d be surprised if could find another building project where so many locals would give up their time to help.

Yesterday we opened up 1 red trail & 1 blue trail to give all the volunteers that have helped us a taste of what’s to come.
The park is still closed but opens this Saturday.
This was filmed by Aberdare mtb group who helped with the build.

I’ve used loco to service 2 shocks and 1 set of forks this year.
Good service, on time and for the price he quoted.

I haven’t used them yet, but a few mates use muddybums

S.wales. Big pit, good half day out & worth a visit. Free entry.
Monkey sanctuary. Fab half day, about £7 entry per vehicle.

W.Wales Oakwood park. Brilliant/expensive day out. £65 family.
Too many castles to chose from, every few miles in Pembrokeshire.
Folly farm great day out.
Heatherton, haven’t been yet.
So many nice beaches around Pembrokeshire, boat trip from Tenby to the monks island that I can’t think of its name.

I’ve stayed on a campsite near Carew, Pembrokeshire. They’re only allowed 5 caravans plus a few tents. Their facilities 1 toilet, 1 hand basin, elec hook up and that’s it, but the views are amazing and we always end up going back and have regularly been the only ones there apart from the cows & pigs. It’s on deer park lane.

Trawsfyndd holiday village got a 20 bed bunk house with drying room, large kitchen & lounge, loads of parking & a pub.
2 mins from cyb. I’ve used it 3 times now and will again.

1-5 box set arrived in post today, could be a late one tonight.

We used 40 signs,10 rolls of orange bunding, 175 steaks plus used trees & rocks to close trails. Aprox 35 hours spent putting them up & refitting them.
I set the segments on strava to see who was using it, most have removed their rides now tho.
1 dick came down the freshly raked blue family trail on Monday in his full face & dh bike telling workers it’s the best trail he’s rode lol

Yip, bought a c220 sport estate just over a year ago, been a good car with no probs yet. Heavy on the diesel no Matter how you drive it. Previous owner took the £35k hit on it so great buy 2nd hand.

I stay at trawsfyndd holiday village. Right next to cyb & about 30 mins to a.s

Parts of the blue will remind of you of fods verderers trail but longer, the reds slightly steeper & narrower with some drops & jumps. The blacks will have a couple of 20-30ft table tops, bigger drop offs, & huge gap jumps. Beginner or pro you are going to love it!

There is a xc loop! Almost all single track climb starts from the visitor centre and ends at the top, only difference to most t.c is you have a choice of 6 trails to come down instead of 1

No idea sorry, I just hope the majority will be happy to pay to ride such a good network of trails, if not, the maintenance team will disappear along with the park in a few years.
Strange how people don’t want to pay to enjoy this hobby ( myself included ) but will happily pay to play golf, go to the zoo or any other outdoor activity.
