I’ve got the mj880u, really light in weight so great on the helmet.
Long throw and wide. They seem to have gone up in price a lot this year but it is by far the best light I’ve used.
Previously used £35 Cree and a £80 copy of the magic shine 872.

I ride there most weeks, blacks muddy slidey fun, just parts of the reds muddy, blues are real grippy.
I usually got a hr front, crossmark rear, just fitted a minion after ripping the rear.
Don’t worry about what tread, just spare tubes.

Toys, don’t get me wrong, I hate all climbs but this one less than others. Interesting all the way.

Was planning on making it my next ride, used to hate every second of it until I got to the top, then eventually think, wow that was good, damn good!
We do have a special relationship tho as it was my first mtb ride.

    I’ve got a 2006 c220d sport estate auto on 111000
I hardly drive it as i use the van, but the wife loves driving it. It is really heavy on the wallet tho, usually get 32mpg.

Loads of parking space on a Monday. Do the climb first and any of downs you fancy. Take some cash with you, as if there’s space you can jump on the uplift for £4 and try every trail. Sixtapod my fav at the moment.

Bpw, no need for a big travel bike.

Some folk have cars that will go over 150 mph but don’t drive much over 70mph.
Some have 4 bed houses but only sleep in 1 room.
Some drink 12 pints but are drunk on 6.
I don’t have any of the above so can afford an expensive bike which is more than I need

My local does them £276. (The bicycle doctor)
Halfords were doing them for £279 a few weeks ago, not sure if that’s still on.

150mm. One of the blues and one reds are pedally. You will enjoy on whatever you ride tho and a 150mm will easily cope with the black runs.
As above, punctures galore, but that’s prob me casing everything :)

I got some fox ones after a psa on here from stiff cycles last year. They’re still 1/2 price too I think.

Always hear good reviews of afan lodge, I’ve stayed at Bryn Bettws lodge which is half way around the wall trail. Basic bunk house with cafe, bike wash & car park.

They’ve got planning for 20 trails, but that’s a long term plan.

Bpw isn’t closed, but some of the trails are.
2 blacks,1 red & 1 blue are closed as they all meet at the tunnel where the race will be going through.
There’s still a red & a blue open which are both great fun and need to be ridden 3 times each to cover all the split offs once. I’m going to ride those Sunday and watch a bit of the racing.

Any windscreen company should be fine, it’s just cutting a hole and glueing in a piece of glass. Just get a few quotes.

It’s only £150 to get a window fitted in the side door, so I wouldn’t limit your choice to ones only with windows.
The fitter came to my work car park and took less than an hour.
The lwb is 1 foot longer than the swb and makes a good difference.

I’ve only put a double rear seat in my vivaro, so it seats 5 and carries 3 built mtbs & 2 with wheels off. I think it’s too small to separate the back off.

I’m wearing element goretex atm £90 from safety shops. On my second pair. Extemely light & comfy.
Sports direct do some light ones to for about £25. nice to wear, but only last a month or two.
I find the big company’s like cat & dewalt are far too heavy.

Updated my 4 just before going to bed, the biggest change was sleeping 2hrs late for work as the alarm didn’t go off.

I had mine off here second hand, used them loads and they’ve now worn away, so no longer work.
But I will buy another pair, loose fitting so great with pads, breathable & waterproof.
I’m 34 waist and a medium is perfect fit.
Waterproof shorts sound a ridiculous idea to anyone who hasn’t used them.

I bought Oakley crosshair from the optic shop, Swansea. £280 with prescription lenses.
I wouldn’t recommend the glasses, the chrome has corroded from sweat and the rubber ear piece has split.

I really like both. The red at f.o.d has been extended, not sure if its finished yet.
I usually do the blue, stopping half way around to do a few laps of the dh, then back to finish the blue.

I hadn’t really considered doing that, it’s just what I’ve always done, upgraded every 12,18 or now 24 months.
There’s nothing wrong with my iPhone 4, it was replaced by ins about 6 months ago after drowning

Take the climb up the bridleway (sign posted climb) until you come to the 2nd forest rd. the bus doest use this one. keep on that until you come to a small quarry on your right. Go right there and stay on a dirt road to the start.
This is one of the quickest ways to the top and prob the easiest.
If the uplift bus squashes riders on the uplift road on its return trip it may scratch those loverly looking vans :)

Yes the booked uplifters get priority but due to the varying lengths of trails there’s often a few spaces for left for £4.
More in the afternoon as people start dropping out.
The ride up is 30-45 mins.

Mine had one made by tiny bike to start and has a scoot now. Both good bikes.
