Loads of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler stuff on over this weekend and next week. Sweeeeeeeeet.

The one about where he talks about six different guitars is well worth a watch if it’s on. (or YouTube if its not)

£6 to iron five shirts and they collect and deliver.

I’ve no idea how they make it pay! I’d be on about £2 an hour at the speed I do a shirt.

When I got my M5 the lease price was £550+VAT so total cost over 2 years is £19,140.00 inc VAT.

    Another subtle brag. Mine’s £570 inc Vat (6 and 23, 10K miles).

    Obviously no-one ‘needs’ a brand new M5

I’d beg to differ but this is STW not Pistonheads.

    Never used them

I have. Xbox live code arrived after about 5 minutes and worked perfectly.

I just can’t see how a watch could provide as much fun as a bike

I just can’t see how a bike will tell the time as well as a watch.

What about a Chanel J12? (would have to be used at that budget)

**** that. I’d rather buy an old Audi S3.

You said yourself it’s an alternative way into a new car.

If you were considering buying a brand new Golf R outright then you’d be mad to not to lease one.

Of course an old car will be cheaper. You could buy a 10 year old Corsa for the cost of one months lease on a Range Rover but its really not comparing like for like now is it?

It is possible and takes about 10 mins. You just need to swap to a different length airshaft.

I went from 80-100mm and have the part you need going spare. If your interested email in profile.

My wife’s also booked on and received the participant pack sometime last week.

I’m not familiar with the area but the route looks to run parallel with Swanston Golf Course and ends near the garage on the A702.

Whilst we’re on the subject has anybody got a map or GPX of a local route I could ride on the Saturday after my taxi/bike mechanic services are no longer required?

Did’nt realise the popularity of this, should of done my homework ages ago!
No tickets left this year, suppose it gives me a year to train.

Apologies if your already aware but this is not an anybody can enter sportive and the entry form specifically asks for previous race experience and will be discarded if you have none.

I was in this position so this year consists of a full season of local CX races and fingers crossed for 2015.

Congratulations, I’ve had the faster white model for a few years now but embarrassingly have only done about 150 miles this year.

The seats adjustable and that does look like it’s in the high setting.

But surely that would negate the use of driving gloves, thus greatly reducing a gentleman’s in car wardrobe options. No use having a nice motor if you’ve no style

Are we talking “Jamie’s Italian” chain restaurants, or his actual restaurants, like Fifteen?

If we are Barbecoa next to St Pauls Cathedral is bloody lovely.

    Would recommend in a heartbeat.

as it seems a long way to move across an entire lane.

It was the best part of 20 years ago so the memories are a little hazy but I remember thinking the same at the time.

It must have been target fixation – look at something and that’s where you end up.

    Across the whole lane.

Like I said my entire car was in the oncoming lane when he hit me.

How much notice do you need when a rider is front of you before you hit them?

Indeed, the bike was “in a collision with” a car, no, some **** hit him because they weren’t paying attention.

Many years ago I was overtaking a cyclist, leaving plenty of room (all four wheels over the white lines) and well below the 30mph speed limit. As I passed he turned to look at me. As his head turned so did the bike. He hit my nearside front wing and rolled over the bonnet, cracking the windscreen with his head.

Eye witnesses said there was nothing more I could of done, the police were adamant my lack of speed saved his life and my insurance company rejected his claim for personal injury and a new bike.

I realise this forum is heavily weighted on the side of the cyclist but sometimes it’s us that make the mistake.

SB6c frame for less than 2.5k GBP and we’ll talk.

    HaHaHa!

As someone who’s SB66c has just gone missing I was waiting with interest for this but like others will wait abit longer and see on the durability.

I guessing 5 million cycles on Fox’s test rig equates to 2 rides in the dark Peak!

My guess is it’s been wired like below and you’ve either only got one light or are at the end of line i.e. the furthest from the mcb. Stops you having too many cables at the back of a small wall light.

There have been plenty of STW’ers that have done the self guide accommodation only route in Whistler. I’d be interested to hear real world costs.

Last time me and the wife spent £1666 on 14 mights (mid August 2013) in a one bed room apartment in Deer Lodge plus took $2000 dollars for transfers, meals, beer, lift passes, etc.

You could easily do it on your own for less (eating out every night, a meal at the Rimrock and $100 rounds don’t help) by having a studio in Creakside and supermarket meals but I’d say there wasn’t much in it if you wanted the same standard of holiday. It depends if you value the convenience of being in the village more than the convenience of somebody sorting everything for you.

I’ve now been twice with Bearback and twice sorting it out ourselves. Next time we’ll be back with Bearback.

Wife currently has a place in Halifax so that will be the base for the weekend then ride the shortest distance each day (as she’ll be in tow).

I’m thinking stage 1 – Ilkley or Addingham. Stage 2 – Hebdon Bridge.

Was going to post mine but as pro6s are common as muck around here I shan’t bother.

Well at least mines the other colour.

10 miles each way a couple of times a week plus evening rides round the fields whilst the woods are too overgrown for the mtb.

What relevant experience do people have?

I’m fairly fit, could ride a 100 mile sportive tomorrow, class myself as a competent mountain biker but the only time I’ve raced was the mega avalanche about 7 years ago so had nothing to put on the entry form and according to the update email was discarded immediately.
