Watching the TV in France and the coverage starts 5 min before kick off. At half time it’s 15 min of adverts then 2 min after the final whistle it ends.

There’s a review show on now and it had 2 min of Ireland match then Du Pont update for what seems like forever, in fact they are still analysing it as I type!

I run my old Coleman and a primus multi fuel on Aspen4. Same as Coleman fuel but cheaper and available from farm shops.

Currently laid up with covid so listening to the radio.
Had to switch to radio 2 as it was non stop drivel from Annie mac and jam today. More suited to radio 1.
    6music managementf@#£ing things up again.
Only really listening to Marc and Gid on a normal day.
    Time to find another station.

I use a behringer uca222 to record vinyl from an amp to PC via audacity. Has RCA inputs and was £20. Works fine.

Steve Mason in a village hall last night. A short out of the way venues tour playing solo electric. Amazing performance, good banter and a great sound. Everything from old beta band tunes to new songs from the forthcoming record. Up there with one of the best ever.

Already had a couple of days splitting up Weardale and Teesdale, decent conditions and filled gulleys / depressions for the better runs.
Will concentrate on local and Scotland rather than plan anything for this season.

Been using Sungod goggles the last few years and can’t complain. Very customisable.

    Is Kinder Downfall in yet?

Done a bit over the years in the Lakes and Scotland during the good winters.
A mere mortal compared to some of my friends exploits mind.
Hoping to get more done, combined with split boarding this winter in the lakes.

Your pic reminded me when I topped out onto the Ben one NY eve with an inversion, the surrounding mamores were just breaking through the cloud like shark fins, magical day.

    Interactive map of benchmarks
I no longer use them, just set a point from Rtk gnss and away you go.
Would of been useful back in the 90’s when it was £17 a go to get a benchmark value off the OS.

Oops didn’t see the 2nd link in the post 👀

    It’s what I do.
£250+vat for a weeks hire of a gnss rover.
Optical, speedy, Sccs all hire out kit that come with a sim card connected to a correction network. Expect 10mm positioning and 20mm height accuracy.
Just be aware that in dense woodland and close to buildings the unit will struggle and a conventional total station will be required.
I use leica and topcon units and the software to collect data is fairly simple.

Draftsight is available for macs, download from dassault website & free.
Take up the offer for a Leica TS16, great bit of kit, only £150 a week 😀 (better than Topcon and magnet software)

The firm spring is definitely blue, have got one here still in its delivery bag with the same product number from above.
No longer required if you’re still looking for one.

2 classics are 401 Trail & Doctor Park. Both are mainly fireroad climbs followed by singletrack descents.
401 starts out by Gothic and Dr P starts about 10 mile south at the junction of the 742/744 roads
About 20 mile each ride, or less but exhausting due to the altitude.
Local bike shops will have maps and details but they were very easy to navigate and were sign posted.
    Enjoy

    Daiwa Sensor
    Gardner GR60 or GT80

    good, reliable and cheap

suggest 300m spools as the cheaper option as there is no need to put 1000m on a reel. Most reels will not hold more than 300m anyway.

Quite a few people go out skiing in Chamonix feb/mar/apr durin full moon if its clear, either out to the huts or a hike up the piste.

Have boarded the pierre ric at 1am with a headtorch. Was fuelled with 1664 after carrying a few up to the mid station. Happy days

Have a set built on nuke proof hubs.
Used in the uk, alps and spain and they are still true.
Accept a 2.3 tyre no problem.

Helvellyn, Blencathra or Kentmere will be good for the splitboard in the lakes.
Friends have been touring around Edale in the peaks.
Howgills are also an option with nice rolling big hills.
Quite a few people out touring in the Yorkshire Dales too.

Look at a map for trails up and pick a slope to come down, its all good fun just getting out and doing something.

Lots of people out skiing / boarding in the lakes, dales and peaks. Amazing conditions, just be careful about avalanches.

I've done Blencathra over xmas and had a little jolly down Fremington Edge in Reeth yesterday as we couldn't get to the lakes (A66 shut).

Lets hope its not every 30 years we get these conditions.

C'mon, whats everyone else been doing.

It was planned to go from Lickey End south of Belbroughton to Churchill then west of Kinver to Lower Penn then to Perton and up past the M54 then to the M6 – think it was at the A5 (if that junction has a couple of huge lakes)

The DOT bought loads of farms and houses on the route in preparation, we were living in a repossesed house in Hagley.

Like I said it was 19 years ago so I don’t know if it was shelved or is still in the DOTs thoughtplan.

Did a land survey in 1990 to build a new motorway around the west of Brum (M5 Bromsgrove to Wolverhampton then up to the M6 at Cannock) so keep an eye out for that one being built soon…..

Surveyed the A1 in 1991 and that has just started site clearance, can’t rush these things now.
