I think this is the helmet the Trek XC team wear for MTB race duties too

I asked about this in a Spanish bike hire place recently while I was repeatedly going to and from my bag in the locker. We found the closest equivalent phrase they had was “he does not have memory must have legs”, which made me chuckle.

I’ve been using these for a couple of months now and really like them. Was really impressed with much grip they had on some rocky, wet, muddy descents while I was in Kent recently. I thought they’d be slow on smooth gravel or the road, but as Hannah said, they’re pretty good there too!

@tmb47 Could send me a link of where to get one at the minute please? Everywhere I can see is out of stock.

I carry a small first aid kit in my hydration pack, one I put together myself, not just one with a few plasters. As a bare minimum I always carry one of these. If you fell and had a a large cut from anything and were losing some blood these could literally be a lifesaver… for a few quid

And as a back up always say to someone you know/speak to regularly/other half etc where you’re going and how long you should be. That way at least if you fail to return someone can send a search party. Or a note on your dashboard if you park at a trail head or a layby somewhere. Might sound extreme but if even you’re riding a quieter trail centre and it’s getting to the end of the day and you come off and break a leg, it’d be a long crawl home or a long wait until some ride past the next day.

I think not only fair play to Brant for getting on the forum and trying to resolve an issue, but fair play for doing so at gone 11pm on a Friday night! Wouldn’t get that from many bosses.

Neither bike is sold on its aesthetic merits is it?

‘All bikes are sold on their aesthetic merits aren’t they?’ FTFY 😉

Can you put meat in your green bin? We have a brown one for vegetable/garden waste but you can’t put meat in it.

Other than that, and sorry if this is a bit obvious, have you tried putting a bell on the cat’s collar? You can get them from pet shops and it stopped my friend’s cat sneaking up on so many birds and baby rabbits.

Or if it still catches stuff, just put them in a bin bag in your normal wheelie bin, bin ben don’t know what’s in there then.

Doesn’t sound like you need a GP to tell you you’re going to have to face time off the bike; it already sounds that way if you’re saying you’re in “severe pain all the time”.

I sometimes don’t have the best faith in doctors but at the end of the day if you get it sorted via a GP, you’ll be back on the bike quicker hopefully!

Either way I hope you get sorted soon!

Surely circular flapjacks are the answer; no corners? Or would their frisbee like shape make them better projectiles??

Bugger. I’ve always been convinced they were a load of sh*te and never actually working but I just read the first 5 replies from the front page of this thread and I now know I’m wrong! I always obey those zones but could never fathom why some people belted through them but I’d never heard of anyone being caught.

Every day is a school day!
