I ride medium in both models tho i do have short legs so often get moaned at because my setups look a little odd !

If your still looking to travel quick offroad and put in some road miles too i would go for the gryphon with the drops off road is still very enjoyable with the added comfort on road using the drops.

Don't know if you have a 29 already if you don't then you will be suprised what you can ride rigid compared to 26"

I have both swift and gryphon if your looking to run a standard set up don't choose the gryphon just to fill that gap

What type of riding are you doing ?
I have run both bikes with drops and the gryp is better for that, longer headtube short fork makes for a more comfy set up than a swift on drops.

I find the griff better for all day rides on or off road that are more rolling and not too techy, it is more than capable and great for touring again on or off road.

I enjoy riding the swift all day too when it is more techy.

The swift can handle a lot of different set ups making it more versatile if your not sure what set up you want,tho I did take mine to the alps but i'm not as core as stu !

You could just make the best choice and get the Pegasus as it's fantastic

better still drop Sam a line or give him a bell he will give you the definative low down on what you need

What's all that circuit protection at the bottom of the standard battery for then ?

I guess it's more to do with charging and shut down when the battery is low ?

I ran my swift rigid using a 2.4 up front no problem a couple of years ago

From what I have seen lately suspension is not needed for pushing bikes up and even down at trail centres lately.

Have done all the trails rigid it's fine don't know where all the big rocks are tho ?

Don't be put off by the holiday homes we stay there a lot they normally say it's ok to stay pitched on sunday so you can ride then come back get cleaned up and head home too

A short uphill ride of a mile or so gets you straight on to the trails

Apparently you can get even get 11x pants system for your pleasure.

I think the bloke who almost put me in a reen on saturday had a fistful of pants and as he tried to grab a them they were either not there or were not as useful as first advertised

It did get a bit tiresome being held up on Saturdays ride because i was led to believe that suspension and even gears were most definately an advantage whilst going uphill or down for that matter, maybe the gravity is different in Wales ?

Fruitcakes on ss holding people up on climbs the bare faced cheek of not being as good as you !

Surely in any instance it is the rider who is behind who ultimately has to judge if or when a rider up front will stop or move of line wether they have gears or no gears it makes no difference

Cuts both ways when a quick ss riders gets stalled out by someone chomping down a fistful of gears when there is really no need

I certainly didnt hold up any riders whilst climbing l'alpe d'huez last summer on my ss non stop

Running shimano xt discs on 7's no probs I actually agree they are better than the originals

I think avid use 185 front and xt are 180 but I could be wrong !
