Midnighthour,do you want this date?If you like this man,or what you know of him, then you could set your own ground rules,if he won't accept them, then move on,if he does you never know,it may be a goer. That way you maintain your independence and control.BTW I agree with sfb, perhaps you need a more active social life generally?

Personally,I've always treated a first date as a gentle introduction to someone,no fixed ideas about the future, some have been intense and led to quickly developing relationships, where you see alot of each other, some haven't,but it's a lttle worrrying that he has such fixed ideas before the first date,I'd be uncomfortable with a person like that.

I've been a nurse for the last 30 years,in general medicine. Can be stressful, but very rewarding at the same time.Financially not bad,as a staff nurse on top scale ,I make about 30k.(that's with unsocial hours payments, etc .I also get 41 days holiday a year)

I'm afraid my attitude to the major religions is the same as that of an epidemiologist to smallpox, worth studying, but don't want to catch it.

I'm an atheist, and couldn't have a long term relationship with anyone with strong religious beliefs, mind you, most religions wouldn't like me associating with their members.I got married in an RC church, under pressure from my inlaws, and the priest took great pleasure in telling me that in his eyes I was an impediment to my own marriage, and that we would have to send any sprogs to catholic school. He was a jesuit,so I took great pleasure in reminding him of St.Ignatius's words "give me the child until he is 7 and I will give you the man".

You don't always know what's coming,I'm 54,and have worked in the NHS for 30 years.I had a small stroke about 3 months ago,and am retiring at 55 with a reasonable pension. If I hadn't got the NHS pension,my family would be stuffed,as I have children aged 7 and 14,and I'm now unable to work.I am very lucky that my wife is very supportive, and not concerned about money, but I wouldn't swap the security of the NHS for any amount of outside cash.

Seeing as North Korea borders on China, where do you draw the line?.It may be possible to differentiate between Koreans and Chinese who belong to an ethnic group based 500 miles away, but from someone who lives 20 miles away?,almost certainly same ethnic group, alomost impossible to tell.China is a very big place.

Hi,I'm a nurse,I work in respiratory medicine, primary lung ancer is very unusual in non-smokers of your age.Agree with Drac that pericarditis is a likely suspect, but so is lymphoma, which is much more treatable than a lung primary. It is easy to say,but don't panic, wait for the CT,it may not be as bad as you fear.Good luck and all the best wishes, but please wait for the scan result.
