It was a blank (fire) door. We removed the lock from the original door to fit to it. The joiner was unable to measure/cut precisely enough to fit the lock to the incumbent keep.

Then its the joiners error and his to sort…….

………or get a joiner that can measure

this is a blast from the past but hygena appliance helpline tel no used to be 0845959722 not sure if it still works with the demise of MFI, but give it a go, btw the hygena classic wasn’t one of the stoves made ovens at MFI, they were all under the diplomat badge

The first post was my latest, the best has to a number of years ago I worked for MFI, we had a guy come roaring into the shop, bangs a kitchen door down on the till desk shouting “You’ve sold me the wrong f_____g kitchen, I ordered a white kitchen and you’ve sent be a blue one! What f_____g good is that to me!!”, the guy that sold the kitchen calmly walked across to the desk picked up the door, inspected it closely, put it back down and calmly peeled off the protective layer and handed it back to the customer……….the blokes face was priceless

Just having a thought here with Salmonds “If its your pound then its your debt” line, does that mean we’ll get to take back all of the things that its paid for like your schools, universities, Health service, council services road infrastructure (if we paid for it maybe we should put tolls on every bit of scottish road we built)

The guys a snake that deals in half truths, the way its going I’d love to see Scotlad go it alone just for the Ha we told you so……. a few years down the line

Personally I stay away with people who are so unhinged about such minor matters that they have to play passive aggressive games instead of have a face to face chat. You get dragged into their screwed-up worlds…

……Yeah but it can be sooo much fun if you know this beforehand

There are a few brands that can do this, and some independants will even let you have them a month at a time when they order 3 (we do for a number of patients who are well known to us). But please dont skimp on the eye health part.

…..incidentally as said earlier if you haven’t gone through this process no online retailer should be able to supply you lenses however some of the less scrupulous ones will, if you decide go down this line you optician will have advised you not to as have I, I have seen too many corneal ulcers and other eye problems caused by irresponsible wearers to offer anything but stark truth where CL’sare concerned, you only get one set of eyes….

But with a different lens type, the daily might have slightly different base curves, and they will also want to check that your eyes are not being dried out by the daily lens, this would happen in any opticians in the country who act responsibly, and to be brutally honest if you suffer dry eyes there is no way you should even be trying to order lenses without going thru it as some of the outcomes if your eyes are not suitable include COMPLETE BLINDNESS!!

….which is why these checks are needed

ok so being a responsible optician they want to check the health of your eye when you change your lens type? = GOOD PRACTICE

The buying 3mth at once the majority of lens manufacturers now only supply in a minimum 3mth amount so if this is how they are bought in its only reasonable they are sold on in the same way, did you bother to check this before your flounce?

There is no such thing as an online opticians as its impossible to refract/ check the health of the eye online…….that said

May I ask why you are finished with spec savers? (I am no friend of theirs)

Is it a supply issue as in they wont because either your sight test or Cl checks are not up to date (they cant legally if you havent had a CL check in the last 12 months or sight test within the last 12/24 months depending on your recall cycle and neither should the online retailers)

or is it a different customer service issue in which case I may be able to offer some advice?

OK a ‘light tint is easier and will give more options, its then the polarising that will limit options but I’ll see what i can find for you tomorrow

Very high index plastics are hard to tint which is why there are not many around, but there may also be some glass options available (bit heavier but actually make a slightly thinner lens as their refractive index is better)

If the agency knew they were already persona none grata and knew it then this could be seen as them actually trying to block you from work, or tring to use you as a pawn to get back in the door, either is wrong this would seem to be an agency not looking after their clientelle, I’d be telling them to do one.
