I grew up with a springer and cousins had a cocker, not true for all but I would say biggest difference is energy lvls, springers seem to have a tank that just goes on for ever………..for both the biggest mis conception about them is that they are stupid dogs, this could not be further from the truth they are actually incredibly intelligent but need to be kept stimulated, if they're not thats when they play up.

to give you an idea of ther intelligence two ecamples of ours
whenever he heard the icecream van used to go out the back door, round the side of house, jump the 4' gates go and get his cone and come back, leaving us with a regular bill…..

in the 15 years we had him once when we were away our aunt ( who had the cocker) came into the house and borrowed a can of his dogfood, after that everytime she visited he went and sat by his food cupboard to protect it…..

Why are what are clearly springer spaniels above now being called working cockers, does the second name apply more to the owners?

In general terms the first is a 'secure' income guaranteed by the plan, the second is what is called 'money purchase' and really depends on the stock market and interest rates, it could be better or worse but has more risk attached, so there is no definitive answer to yoiur question.

point to note most empoyers are turning away from option one and toward option 2 at the moment as it is ALOT cheaper for them…………and they usually have some pretty good number crunchers

does every test result in a new pair of glasses?……no hence the cost has to made up on average sales, unfortunately the specsavers and tesco's of this world have made it impossible to charge the true cost, even the government pays less thn £19 for a test that they know costs £60, go figure…..

midlifecrashes do you realise the actual cost of an eyetest inc all the test room equiptment is approx 60pounds a test, as soon as opticians are able to charge this we can lower the cost of glasses, until then you will notice highstreet opticians disappearing until you are left with the internet or the large we dont care multiples

midlifecrashes where you going to go when the online glasses dont fit correctly or PD is wrong to the online store to get a retest or to the qualified medical professional that tested your eyes and waste their time with your internet purchase problems.
I see people all the time who have made 'bucket shop' and internet purchases all the time and really have no sympathy for them, you only get 1 pair of eyes, glasses are a medical device and should be made correctly

….and another really unpopular one, give only those who contribute to society (either work, volunrary work etc) the right to vote, remove the freeloaders from the electoral system, and far harsher but far more beneficial cuts could be achieved

you know to really get this country back on track, all the work shy bog trotters should be given vouchers for basic food clothing and housing needs, with no cash for luxuries, this will never happen as too large a percentage of these are voters so this party would never get in power, but it would sort the defecit in 1 foul swoop and give people more incentive to get back to work!!

to houns just because it says Oakley on it for a clear RX lens definately doesn't make it a better lens, just maybe not one as suited to the frame re my curvature point above, unless you go for polycarb or high index lense then all are made from the same cr39 material, just that some people take a little more care about what shape is formed from the blank.

OK,to start at the beginning with each of your points, cracking near the screws is poor, shouldnt happen and needs to be replaced regardless of what the 'manager of VE (vision express) says.

Second point, if they scratch the lens then they should replace it.

Third point the optical screw, this tbh is forgivable, these things are tiny and if dropped can be very difficult to find (we use magnetic mats to try and prvent this, but sometimes still lose one) but should be replace with one as similar as possible.

With regard to the third point , i would need to know your approx prescription to be sure, but it sounds like the rear surface curve of your lens is too great for the curve of the frame (this could also be the cause of point 1 above). I good opticians can ask for the curvature of a lens on the front and rear surfaces to be adjusted to suit certain frames.
I personally wouldn't be happy with the above job, but having said that you go to the high street 'factory' shops and you pays your money and takes your choice as the saying goes

if you think Oakley optics are good you should try some propper sunnies like Maui Jims, strrets ahead of anyother sunglass on the market at the moment

any local optician will be able to glaze the frame with a prescription lens, but tbh for a polycarb tinted with mirror finish lens £200 isn't that bad a price (speaking as an opticians owner)

To give you an idea of scale vancouver island is about the size of england, but not much to see north of campbell river area, unless you want to go whale watching or something, most of the interesting stuff is is in the southern half of the island (Victoria Nanaimo(SP) cathederal grove etc)
